Once you get past his defense mechanisms, he is a little purr machine! Squeeze up treats will show him that you are to be trusted.  He experienced scary things on his own, and he wants to make sure that he is in safe hands before he commits himself!  He never wants to be heartbroken. . . but once you win him over, you will have a friend for life. He came from a dangerous outdoor situation, but has settled beautifully into indoor life.
