Kitty showed up at my dad's door one cold winter night. Over six months she went from cautious stray to an absolute daddy's girl who adores him now.She's a natural hunter who loves spending days outside, but also enjoys indoor naps and comes home like clockwork at dark. She'd thrive as an indoor/outdoor cat in a safe area.When awake, she's your shadow, following you room to room, watching over you. She's talkative, sweet, and loves her rope toy. She's gentle and trusting; you can touch her anywhere and she's never scratched or bitten. She loves being brushed and petted.She may take time to warm up to a new family, but once she does, you'll have the most loyal companion.Vet-checked 8/11: healthy, ~1.5 yrs, rabies vaccinated, getting spayed on September 10th.I'm heartbroken to rehome her, my drop foot and health conditions make her a tripping hazard for me. She deserves someone who can give her the safe, active home she needs.

Theo was recently rescued from outside by a friend and brought into my care. Unfortunately, I am unable to keep him because I already have another cat, and he is aggressive toward her. Please note that he is currently exhibiting aggressive behavior as a result of NOT being neutered.Theo will thrive best in an experienced, patient home without other pets. He can also be defensive around people he doesn’t yet know well, so he will need someone willing to give him time to adjust. I need to find him a new placement soon, and my primary goal is to ensure he goes to a safe, loving environment that can meet his needs.

Smokey came to us from the MSPCA in Centerville, MA. He hadn't received much interest there so we wanted to give him a chance here on Nantucket. He is a 3.5 year old, neutered male tabby who is a little shy right now. Shelter life can be scary for many animals and this sweet handsome guy is a little unsure of everything happening around him. We are here to give him all the time and support he needs though so we will be there for those special moments when he feels confident for small victories. Right now, we know he enjoys churu treats and is a social eater so he loves a bit of attention when he comes out to eat. He enjoys food and it would do him well to lose a few pounds and we will help him with that too! We think he will do great in a home, maybe as an only kitty, with someone who is patient and compassionate to his slower schedule to get comfortable. He will most definitely be a loyal kitty companion for the right cat person!

Rescued from the outside, a kind woman brought me in after seeing me in the neighborhood for days not having a place to go to be safe. Unfortunately, her house cats and I could not share the same living space, she brought me to the shelter to continue my search for a home. I am a handsome tabby, about a year old. Friendly too. I am trying to be brave with all the new sounds and smells of the shelter, but sometimes i hide when I feel overwhelmed by the changes in my life. I need a cat experienced family who can give me time and patience...and a loving forever home. Being alone and trying to make it outside was difficult.
