Story
My name is Garol, I am a gal that will brighten your day. I am comical to watch with a quirky personality. My foster mom says I am good at rolling over to show you my belly. That means I am comfortable with you. I love affection and crave belly rubs the most. My absolute favorite place to be is on the cat tree. This is a must to have in my new home, any kind works for me, this is just where I like to be. Boxes are also my bed. I would be a great companion for any home. I enjoy the company of other cats and I get along with kids. My best friend is my fosters personal cat (who is an orange tabby). I do not mind the dogs. Schedule a greet with me to see if I would be a good addition to your home. Named origin: Named after Saturday Night Live Skit Her story: NPLB was called to help because I was injured. The top of my hip bone by my tail on my back was fully ripped opened and exposed from some sort of injury. I was trapped and treated. The wound took several treatments to heal. I have gained weight and thrive with the company of other pets and people indoors. I once was shy and timid and now I am outgoing, loving and affection seeking. Story
Meet Toby, Meet Toby, a 1-year-old brown tabby who is a bundle of love with a heart as big as his courage. Toby’s journey hasn’t been easy, but he’s faced every challenge with bravery, resilience, and an unshakeable belief in better days. His time on the streets may have been tough, but through it all, Toby has kept his head held high and his hopes high too. Now that he's found safety, Toby is eager to share all his love with you. He’s a people cat and can’t wait to be by your side – whether you're human, a kid, or even another cat. But Toby’s best friend? Dogs! He’s absolutely crazy about them and would love to find a home where he can have a furry canine companion to share his days with. We find him keeping himself entertained by playing with some of his favorite toys: hair ties & milk rings. Although Toby gets along with other cats, he would also enjoy being King Kitty of the Kastle. Toby is incredibly affectionate, always looking for opportunities to rub up against you and offer companionship. He’ll follow you from room to room, greet you at the door, and just be the most loving presence in your life. With his proud and confident demeanor, Toby is ready to share his resilience and endless affection with his forever family. If you’re looking for a loving, brave, and incredibly social kitty to join your family, Toby might just be the best friend you’ve been waiting for. Name Meaning: The name "Toby" means "God is good" and is derived from the Hebrew name "Tobias". Toby earned his name with receiving a 2nd chance at life with us to be healed and find his forever family. His Story: Toby was found in a colony of 20+ cats in Smithfield, PA in Fayette County. NPLB was called to help when he was severely injured. None of the cats at the colony were fixed. Toby was transported to us and we were able to get him into the vet to be clipped, cleaned and stitched up. It appeared at 1st that he was bitten by a dog. His jaw was ripped open from underneath tearing a bigger than thumb size hole open in his throat. You could literally see his veins and organs inside the hole. Even with this extreme injury, he showed not 1 sign of pain or anger. He showed nothing but love and affection, thankfulness and confidence. He has extremely friendly nature towards all dogs, we think if he was attacked by a dog, he would possibly fear them. Although we are not sure if he was attacked by an animal, or stick in a fence or trap, we knew he needed help. The rest of the kitties received TNR by a rescue who teamed up with us to tackle the colony while we cared for Toby to help manage the population. Meet Maya, a gorgeous brown tabby girl who is all about relaxation and snuggles. She loves attention, pets, and being held - basically, she's a human-sized cuddle toy! She’s talkative especially in new environments, but once she feels safe and comfy, she'll be your best buddy! Maya does well with other cats but hasn’t been dog tested yet. Apply today if you’re looking for a low-key, affectionate companion! She is around 2 years old. Adoption application can be found here-https://airtable.com/shrGSvgMTS3wUQn2H

ChatGPT said: Meet Jason! Jason is an adorable kitten born in mid-April 2025. This sweet boy is playful, gentle, and full of love once he feels comfortable. He may be a little shy at first, but with a bit of patience, you’ll see his affectionate side shine through. Jason absolutely loves toys with feathers and anything that jingles—he’ll keep himself (and you) entertained for hours. He gets along great with other kittens and even does well with dogs. Jason also has a serious love for canned food and will happily meow to remind you when it’s mealtime! Jason would thrive in a home with another friendly kitten or young cat to keep him company. Kittens learn social skills from each other, keep each other entertained, and are happier and less lonely with a playmate by their side. Adopt two kittens and receive a discounted adoption fee! It’s double the love, double the fun, and a lifetime of companionship for both. If you’re ready to open your heart to a sweet, playful kitten, Jason is waiting to meet you—and he’d love to bring a friend along, too! Story
Meet Lizzo! This beautiful torbi girl, born in March 2025, has soft tabby markings mixed with lighter orange spots that give her a truly unique look. She’s a gentle, affectionate kitten who loves being pet and happily curls up beside her person for quiet companionship. Lizzo enjoys spending time with the other kittens, but she often prefers her own style of play—batting springs around the room, entertaining herself, or sneaking toys away from her feline friends when they’re not looking. She’s sweet, calm, and easy to love. While she isn’t bonded to another kitten, Lizzo would benefit from a playful companion. Kittens learn healthy boundaries from each other, burn off energy together, and grow into more confident, well-adjusted adults when they have a friend. For that reason, we offer a discounted adoption fee when adopting two kittens. If you’re looking for a loving, mellow, and slightly mischievous girl, Lizzo could be the perfect addition to your home—maybe with a buddy to share the fun. Story
Meet Oreo! Oreo was brought to ICHS along with a few other cats after the person who was taking care of them passed away. Oreo and his friends came to us spayed, neutered, and with tipped ears. So, due to that and them being under-socialized, we can assume that these guys were someone's outside cats. That being said these cats are making progress every day! Oreo has gone from hating his new life here at the shelter to becoming pretty content. While he still isn't the biggest fan of people, Oreo is getting there and currently accepts pets through the cage! Oreo loves the other cats though. He meows at our staff to let him out for playtime with his friends. When Oreo isn't hanging out with the other cat residents you can typically find him playing with toys, wrapped up like a burrito in his blanket, or snacking on some treats! If you are looking for a friend for your cat and have a little patience, consider putting in an adoption application for our boy Oreo today! Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Meet Eugene! Eugene came to ICHS along with many other cats, no fault of his own though. This big boy, was not a big fan of the shelter when he first arrived. He was not very socialized and was really just scared. However, with a little time and patience, Eugene has been able to learn that we just want to be his friend! One day it just clicked with him and he went all in for the scratches! He loves to receive head and butt scratches. He truly cannot get enough! This means he also LOVES being brushed. When he isn't rubbing all over you for attention, this handsome man likes to play. Especially if you get catnip involved! He is just such a sweet and silly boy and we are so proud of the cat that he has blossomed into! So, if you're looking for your new loyal best friend, consider putting in an adoption application for Eugene today! Primary Color: Brown Tabby Secondary Color: White Age: 5yrs 9mths 0wks
