Story
Kelce is a good boy. He is house trained, however, there is a story with this. We have chickens and he likes to get in their pen and play. We bought a new pen and he was pushing in so we bought an electric fence. He then became terrified of going outside and will now rather potty inside than outside. The fence has been shut down and he potties outside again but I can't afford to replace the chicken pen and he's not figuring out how to stay out. He doesn't hurt the chickens, in any way. He is also not as socialized as he should be. He is protective of my house and will bark when anyone comes close but he is a sweet, loving, and generally well behaved. We have another small and large dog as well as a cat. He is social with the different animals but still may need to meet new animals before becoming friendly. My children do not spend as much time with him as he would like. He is an active dog needing an active life. Please let me know if you'd like to meet him!

Story
Luna and Sunny are a sweet, bonded pair of best friends who are looking for a forever home together. Sunny is a 10-month-old male Golden Retriever, and Luna is an 11-month-old female Australian Shepherd. These two are inseparable and truly thrive when they’re side by side. They are both incredibly sweet, social butterflies who love people and enjoy being around other dogs. They do well with kids and bring a joyful, friendly energy wherever they go. Sunny and Luna were previously living outdoors, so they will need a home with a securely fenced yard, as they may be considered a flight risk while adjusting to a new environment. Because of their past, they are likely not fully house trained yet, but with patience, consistency, and love, they’ll be eager learners. If you’re looking to double the love, fun, and companionship, Sunny and Luna could be the perfect addition to your family. These two hearts are ready to start their next chapter—together. Luna currently weighs about 44lbs., is approximately 11 months old (est. birth date 02/20/2025), and her adoption fee is $510. Luna has been spayed, is up to date on all vaccinations & preventatives, and is microchipped. If you want to know more about Luna and Sunny, please complete a survey at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FKDS/Dog. After submitting a survey, an adoption counselor will contact you within 72 hours to give you more information about the dog you are interested in adopting and to arrange for you to meet. You must be at least 21 years of age to adopt.

Story
A foster-to-adopt option is available for Axel, giving you the chance to get to know each other before making it official! Axel is a 2.5-year-old Aussiedoodle weighing 57 pounds of sweet, affectionate goodness. This handsome boy loves being with his people, running freely in a big backyard, and always coming when called. He’s gentle taking treats and already knows sit and down, has a great understanding of wait at doorways and his kennel, and continues to excel with training. Axel is a fast learner and eager to please. He walks nicely on a leash, enjoys going for walks (and likely a good run), and is working hard on polite greetings & not jumping. His foster says he does very well in the car, and his previous owner shared that he is housebroken. Axel has shown that he gets along with other dogs who have a more chill energy and lowkey play style like himself. Because he doesn’t quite realize how big he is, Axel would do best with older children who can appreciate his size and enthusiasm. Affectionate, smart, and ready for a loving home with structure and routine, Axel is truly a showstopper. Come meet this amazing boy! Axel currently weighs about 56lbs., is approximately 2 years old (est. birth date 06/08/2023), and his adoption fee is $510. Axel has been neutered, is up to date on all vaccinations & preventatives, and is microchipped. If you want to know more about Axel, please complete a survey at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FKDS/Dog. After submitting a survey, an adoption counselor will contact you within 72 hours to give you more information about the dog you are interested in adopting and to arrange for you to meet. You must be at least 21 years of age to adopt.

Story
A foster-to-adopt option is available for me, giving us the chance to get to know each other before making it official! Sierra is a beautiful 1-year-old Border Collie mix with a heart full of love and a spirit made for adventure. Found as a stray and cared for by a kind family before coming to us, she’s now ready to find her perfect match. This sweet and independent girl thrives on activity and exploration—she absolutely loves to run, play, and spend time outdoors. A securely fenced yard is a must for this curious explorer, and she’ll do best in a home that can provide regular exercise and mental stimulation. Sierra can be a bit shy at first, but once she knows you, her personality truly blossoms. She becomes affectionate, playful, and will gladly lean in for cuddles and attention. She’s especially happy around other dogs and enjoys canine playmates. However, she’d do best in a home without small children, as she can be startled by fast movements and loud noises. While not housetrained yet, Sierra is very smart and learns quickly—she already knows “sit,” “wait,” and “come.” Sierra isn’t a constant cuddle bug, but she loves to be near her people, and her loyal nature makes her a wonderful companion. She weighs about 57 lbs and has been spayed, microchipped, and is up to date on vaccinations and preventatives. Her estimated birth date is 07/23/2024, and her adoption fee is $185. 🎁 Bonus! Thanks to Subaru, Sierra’s adoption comes with three free professional training sessions to help support her transition and set everyone up for success. If you want to know more about Sierra, please complete a survey at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FKDS/Dog. After submitting a survey, an adoption counselor will contact you within 72 hours to give you more information about the dog you are interested in adopting and to arrange for you to meet. You must be at least 21 years of age to adopt.
