Story
Kelce is a good boy. He is house trained, however, there is a story with this. We have chickens and he likes to get in their pen and play. We bought a new pen and he was pushing in so we bought an electric fence. He then became terrified of going outside and will now rather potty inside than outside. The fence has been shut down and he potties outside again but I can't afford to replace the chicken pen and he's not figuring out how to stay out. He doesn't hurt the chickens, in any way. He is also not as socialized as he should be. He is protective of my house and will bark when anyone comes close but he is a sweet, loving, and generally well behaved. We have another small and large dog as well as a cat. He is social with the different animals but still may need to meet new animals before becoming friendly. My children do not spend as much time with him as he would like. He is an active dog needing an active life. Please let me know if you'd like to meet him!

Story
Hi, I’m Waffles! I’m a 1½-year-old Border Collie mix with a heart of pure gold! I’m an incredibly sweet, affectionate boy who lives for love and snuggles. Curling up in your lap, giving gentle kisses, or gazing adoringly into your eyes — that’s my idea of a perfect day!I walk like a pro on the leash, I know “sit,” and I get along well with other dogs. When I arrived at HSFC, I was dealing with a very uncomfortable skin condition that caused me to lose most of my fur. But the team here showered me with all the love, encouragement, medicated baths, and care I needed to start healing. My fur is still growing back and my skin is a little sensitive, but I’m feeling so much better — and I’m ready to go home! And here’s the best part: I absolutely love wearing sweaters! They keep me warm, protect my sensitive spots, and make me look like the most dapper little gentleman you’ve ever seen.If you’re looking for a loving, cuddly companion who adores people and can’t wait to be by your side, I just might be your perfect match! Currently, I am available for adoption. If you`re interested in adopting me, please fill out an application online or call the Humane Society of Forsyth County at 770-887-6480. Adoption hours are Tuesday through Thursday 11-5 or Friday and Saturday 1-5. All of my love and kisses, Waffles /(^.^)\",AVAILABLE"

Story
A foster-to-adopt option is available for me, giving us the chance to get to know each other before making it official! Sierra is a beautiful 1-year-old Border Collie mix with a heart full of love and a spirit made for adventure. Found as a stray and cared for by a kind family before coming to us, she’s now ready to find her perfect match. This sweet and independent girl thrives on activity and exploration—she absolutely loves to run, play, and spend time outdoors. A securely fenced yard is a must for this curious explorer, and she’ll do best in a home that can provide regular exercise and mental stimulation. Sierra can be a bit shy at first, but once she knows you, her personality truly blossoms. She becomes affectionate, playful, and will gladly lean in for cuddles and attention. She’s especially happy around other dogs and enjoys canine playmates. However, she’d do best in a home without small children, as she can be startled by fast movements and loud noises. While not housetrained yet, Sierra is very smart and learns quickly—she already knows “sit,” “wait,” and “come.” Sierra isn’t a constant cuddle bug, but she loves to be near her people, and her loyal nature makes her a wonderful companion. She weighs about 57 lbs and has been spayed, microchipped, and is up to date on vaccinations and preventatives. Her estimated birth date is 07/23/2024, and her adoption fee is $185. 🎁 Bonus! Thanks to Subaru, Sierra’s adoption comes with three free professional training sessions to help support her transition and set everyone up for success. If you want to know more about Sierra, please complete a survey at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FKDS/Dog. After submitting a survey, an adoption counselor will contact you within 72 hours to give you more information about the dog you are interested in adopting and to arrange for you to meet. You must be at least 21 years of age to adopt.

Story
Hi, I’m Orpheus!I AM CURRENTLY IN FOSTER! Please call to set up a meeting with me!I’m a 9-month-old Australian Shepherd with a shy heart and a curious mind. New people and places can make me a little cautious at first, but give me some time and gentle encouragement, and you’ll see my sweet, playful side shine through! Once I feel safe, I love to romp around, explore, and share my joy with those I trust. I get along wonderfully with other dogs and would absolutely thrive in a home with a confident older doggie sibling to show me the ropes and help me build my confidence. With patience, love, and a little guidance, I’ll grow into the loyal, loving companion I’m meant to be! Currently, I am available for adoption. If you`re interested in adopting me, please fill out an application online or call the Humane Society of Forsyth County at 770-887-6480.
