I’m fully housebroken, I absolutely love other dogs, and I’m learning — slowly but surely — that the world doesn’t have to be such a scary place.I am extremely fearful, and that fear is deeply imprinted from earlier experiences in my life. New people, unfamiliar environments, loud noises, and too much stimulation can be overwhelming for me. Building trust with me takes time, patience, and a calm presence. I don’t do well with being rushed, talked at, or “love-bombed” — for me, comfort comes from quiet energy, predictable routines, and respectful body language.When trust does begin to form, that’s where the magic happens. After two months in foster care, I’ve started seeking out affection on my own terms and have even begun snuggling on the couch with my foster mom. Mason's ideal home would be an active family with older children or no children. He hasn't spent time with kids but has not shown any aggression toward them. Everyone, meet Anny! This beautiful girl joined her Hero foster family just a day ago and is already melting hearts. She’s an Australian Shepherd Blue Heeler mix, and about two years old. She very quickly latches on to people, and loves getting attention. Snuggling, getting her belly rubbed, or just walking beside you…it really doesn’t matter as long as she is near her people. She loves being with a family, as she moves person to person and thrives on sharing the love. She takes a minute to get used to other dogs…likely a product of being in the shelter and being a sweet, sensitive girl, but she is already adapting to our two dogs. She would thrive as an only dog in an active family, and would need a yard with a fence where she could show her speed and burn some energy. Above all, she needs a family who needs her, and will show her as much love as she will show them…hers will come back 10 fold. Anny is comfortable in her crate and sleeps through the night without a peep. She appears to be potty trained, walks well on her leash and is just a joy to be around.
