Story
Kirk is an almost 5 month old Australian Shepherd mix with the cute nubby tail that is typical of that breed. His whole butt and tail wiggle when he is happy! A little shy at first, if you have food, he will soon be your buddy! Kirk loves to be with his people and will become your shadow. Kirk loves other dogs and his perfect family needs a confident dog to teach a new family member. He is still trying to figure out the strange animal called a cat. He is very sweet with them and learning when he is calm that they come over. He would do best in a household with a stay at home family member so that he can continue working on his puppy skills and socialization. Bonus, he is already house and crate trained. Story
Goose is a 1.5 year old Australian Shepherd and Border Collie mix. We received him from a friend who trains dogs. He knows the commands Sit, Stay, Wait, Down (lay down), Come, Off (get off furniture or people), and Go to Bed. He is crate trained, house broken, leash trained, and has been trained not to get on the couch or bed. He is a sweet friendly dog who loves activity and people. Goose needs a family with older children that can play and run around with him or a family that is very active and willing to take him along for the ride! He loves a great game of fetch and to go on runs or walks.

Story
We’ve had Casey for 5 years. We rescued her from a shelter in Chattanooga when she was approximately 1-2 years old. She is a smart Aussie, but highly anxious. She needed socialization and training when we adopted her - for both people and other dogs. While her socialization has improved, she remains high energy and extremely needy. For years, my husband trail ran with her, but he can no loner do that. We live in a small townhouse with no fenced in yard. Casey needs plenty of exercise and freedom, as her herding breed requires. We just can’t give that to her. She is highly devoted and loyal, but her anxiety causes turmoil with our other dog and in our family.

Story
Sachy is a beautiful 2 year old 40lb Aussie/Husky mix (best guess) with one blue eye and one brown eye.  Sachy Sue, as she is affectionately called by her foster family, loves everyone she meets.  She is a happy, social girl who would enjoy a family with older kids and a back yard where she can do zoomies and relax in the sun. Sachy was surrendered to DRDR when her human died unexpectedly. We know she was loved and well cared for. Sachy knows basic commands like sit and paw/shake. Walks well on a leash.  Sachy lives with children (11 & 14) and others dogs in her foster home. She is current on vaccinations, spayed, microchipped and ready for her forever family. To meet or adopt Sachy, please complete an adoption application.     ##1716588##

Yen is a lovable and independent large puppy. At 14 weeks and 22 pounds he will be a large dog over 60 pounds as an adult. He will need a fenced yard to explore and play and nap in the sun. He has a very easy going personality and is happy to have various dog beds to nap and toys to chew. Yen enjoys watching sports on tv or napping in one’s lap while watching a movie. Yen is a super smart boy that will be easy to train and has great mellow energy for a puppy. Yen is crate trained and is almost potty trained. Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Euro is a social and loving 3 month old border collie mix. He will likely be on the up side of the what is considered a medium sized dog at 50+ pounds as an adult. Euro would benefit from a dog companion that will help him get out his puppy energy and also a snuggle buddy to nap with and chew on toys together. Euro can be a little chatty and will need a house and fenced yard to play and relax. Euro is ready to find his forever home and is incredibly attentive to people and will be easy to train. Story
Badger loves to meet new people. He has shown his affection to everyone here at the Humane Society from his first day. He also loves to go swimming! A wonderful volunteer Candace took him out on her Pooch Pontoon to an island on Lake Lanier and he loved his swim time. He is a friend to dogs and plays very well with his pal here at the shelter, Mr. Bean. He also likes to give great big bear hugs! But very gently.
