Story
I AM CURRENTLY IN FOSTER!Hi, I’m Orpheus — but my foster family calls me Opie.I’m a very sweet, good-natured boy who’s been through more than my heart should have had to handle. I’m fully housebroken, I absolutely love other dogs, and I’m learning — slowly but surely — that the world doesn’t have to be such a scary place.I am extremely fearful, and that fear is deeply imprinted from earlier experiences in my life. New people, unfamiliar environments, loud noises, and too much stimulation can be overwhelming for me. Building trust with me takes time, patience, and a calm presence. I don’t do well with being rushed, talked at, or “love-bombed” — for me, comfort comes from quiet energy, predictable routines, and respectful body language. When trust does begin to form, that’s where the magic happens. After two months in foster care, I’ve started seeking out affection on my own terms and have even begun snuggling on the couch with my foster mom. Those moments are incredibly special because they’re earned — and they mean everything.I would thrive in a home with space, including a dedicated area where I can feel safe and decompress. Having at least one confident, friendly dog in the home is very important for me — other dogs help me feel secure and act as a bridge between me and the human world.I’m not the kind of dog who will greet you at the door right away — but for the right person, willing to move at my pace and let trust grow naturally, I will be a deeply rewarding companion. If you believe in quiet progress, patience, and the beauty of watching a fearful dog learn to feel safe, I may be the one you’ve been waiting for.Currently, I am available for adoption. If you`re interested in adopting me, please fill out an application online or call the Humane Society of Forsyth County at 770-887-6480. Adoption hours are Tuesday through Thursday 11-5 or Friday and Saturday 1-5. All of my love and kisses, Orpheus /(^.^)\",AVAILABLE"

Story
I got my pet from an accidental pregnancy. She is 1 years old and was born Dec 1st 2024. I’m looking for a new home with a loving energetic owner. Quinn is energetic, playful, very affectionate, and silly. She is crate trained and is potty trained as well. My mental health does not allow me to be as energetic as I would like to be for her and I do not have suitable living conditions for her at this moment. That is the reason why I have to re home her to give her the life she desperately deserves.

Story
Meet Mason! This incredibly sweet boy is looking for a new forever home.He is a 5 year old Australian Shepherd mix, about 70 pounds, and full of love (and energy)! His current caretakers are an elderly couple, in their 80's, who stepped in to help when a family member could no longer care for him due to medical issues. While they adore Mason, he's a bit too energetic for their lifestyle, and they want to make sure he finds a home that can keep up with him. Mason's ideal home would be an active family with older children or no children. He hasn't spent time with kids but has not shown any aggression toward them. Mason Is good with other dogs and would also be ok as the only dog in the home. Mason is up to date on vaccinations and is fully crate trained and house trained! He is a love bug, full of heart and is awaiting his next adventure!    Please consider helping this sweet adorable guy and apply today! Mason can't wait to snuggle and play!    ##2458820##

Story
Meet Maisel! Maisel is a little over a year old, very friendly and playful, and very high energy. She is crate trained for nighttime and short periods during the day. She loves to love as much as much as she loves to run and play and explore. Due to an unfortunate turn in our family and living situation, I must rehome her. She will not do well in a small apartment. This girl needs a fenced yard with room to run. Her temperament is very Aussie. She is quick and very clever and will be very attached to her humans. She's a very special girl and we're anxious to see her with the right people. She has great potty manners and always takes her business outside. She loves to learn and be challenged. If you're active and you have room to run, she might be the pup for you!

Story
Meet Ginger! This sweet, loving girl is ready to find her forever home, and she can’t wait to share all her love with you. Ginger is a total pro when it comes to car rides—she loves to go on adventures and is calm and well-behaved in the car. She also walks beautifully on a leash, making her an ideal companion for strolls around the neighborhood. Ginger is a gentle soul who prefers the company of bigger dogs. They make her feel more secure and help her feel at ease. She can get a little overwhelmed with all the dogs in boarding, so what she really needs is a loving, quiet home where she can decompress and feel safe. Once she settles in, she’ll be your loyal, sweet companion who will shower you with affection. If you’re looking for a calm, loving girl who would thrive in a peaceful home with a bigger dog friend, Ginger is the one for you. She’ll be forever grateful for a family who understands her need for space and quiet while giving her the love and care she deserves. Could you be the one to give Ginger her happy ending?

Story
Everyone, meet Anny! This beautiful girl joined her Hero foster family just a day ago and is already melting hearts. She’s an Australian Shepherd Blue Heeler mix, and about two years old. She very quickly latches on to people, and loves getting attention. Snuggling, getting her belly rubbed, or just walking beside you…it really doesn’t matter as long as she is near her people. She loves being with a family, as she moves person to person and thrives on sharing the love. She takes a minute to get used to other dogs…likely a product of being in the shelter and being a sweet, sensitive girl, but she is already adapting to our two dogs. She would thrive as an only dog in an active family, and would need a yard with a fence where she could show her speed and burn some energy. Above all, she needs a family who needs her, and will show her as much love as she will show them…hers will come back 10 fold. Anny is comfortable in her crate and sleeps through the night without a peep. She appears to be potty trained, walks well on her leash and is just a joy to be around. This girl is a true catch and will be an amazing addition to some lucky family. If Anny sounds like your kind of girl, please apply at HeroRescue.org. She would love to meet you! Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies. Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered. Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption. Inquiries - If you would like more information on any dogs in the rescue, please email us at info@herorescue.org.

Story
Chole is a beautiful 5-year-old Australian Shepherd/Border Collie mix with a sweet soul and a gentle heart. She’s a smart, affectionate girl who forms strong bonds and truly loves being part of a family. She does well with cats, other dogs, and children, and she is housebroken. Chole knows sit and, like many herding breeds, thrives with learning, routine, and interactive play. Chole is an active dog who loves to run, play, and explore. A fenced yard would be a wonderful bonus to help her burn off energy, and she would enjoy an adopter who likes walks, games, or outdoor time. She’s happiest when she has both physical activity and mental enrichment. She can be a little shy when meeting new people and may take a bit of time to warm up—especially with men—but once she does, she’s incredibly loving, gentle, and affectionate. Chole enjoys companionship and does best in a home where she isn’t alone for long stretches. Having another dog in the home helps her feel secure and confident. Chole is a sensitive, loyal dog who wants to please and be close to her people. She would do best with experienced dog owners who understand active, intelligent breeds and can provide consistent exercise, guidance, and enrichment. Chole is looking for an active, loving home where she can stay engaged, feel secure, and share her big heart with her family. Chole weighs about 40lbs and is approximately 5 years old (est. birth date 02/24/2020). Chloe has been spayed, is up to date on all vaccinations & preventatives, and is microchipped. Chloe's adoption fee is $315. If you want more information about Chloe, please submit a survey at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FKDS/Dog. At this time, meeting our dogs is by appointment only. After submitting a survey, an adoption counselor will contact you to give you more information about the dog you are interested in adopting and to arrange for you to meet. Must be at least 21 years of age to adopt.

Story
A foster-to-adopt option is available for me, giving us the chance to get to know each other before making it official! Sierra is a beautiful 1-year-old Border Collie mix with a heart full of love and a spirit made for adventure. Found as a stray and cared for by a kind family before coming to us, she’s now ready to find her perfect match. This sweet and independent girl thrives on activity and exploration—she absolutely loves to run, play, and spend time outdoors. A securely fenced yard is a must for this curious explorer, and she’ll do best in a home that can provide regular exercise and mental stimulation. Sierra can be a bit shy at first, but once she knows you, her personality truly blossoms. She becomes affectionate, playful, and will gladly lean in for cuddles and attention. She’s especially happy around other dogs and enjoys canine playmates. However, she’d do best in a home without small children, as she can be startled by fast movements and loud noises. While not housetrained yet, Sierra is very smart and learns quickly—she already knows “sit,” “wait,” and “come.” Sierra isn’t a constant cuddle bug, but she loves to be near her people, and her loyal nature makes her a wonderful companion. She weighs about 57 lbs and has been spayed, microchipped, and is up to date on vaccinations and preventatives. Her estimated birth date is 07/23/2024, and her adoption fee is $185. 🎁 Bonus! Thanks to Subaru, Sierra’s adoption comes with three free professional training sessions to help support her transition and set everyone up for success. If you want to know more about Sierra, please complete a survey at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FKDS/Dog. After submitting a survey, an adoption counselor will contact you within 72 hours to give you more information about the dog you are interested in adopting and to arrange for you to meet. You must be at least 21 years of age to adopt.
