Story
Meet Hattie!
Hattie is a sweet, playful, and affectionate puppy who has a big heart and an even bigger personality. She is a fun-loving young dog who enjoys being part of the family, running around the yard, cuddling, and having a job to do. She loves spending time with her people and is happiest when she feels included in daily life.
Hattie is smart, energetic, and eager to learn. She enjoys training, enrichment activities, walks, and having appropriate outlets for her puppy energy. Like many young herding/retriever mixes, she is an active dog who will thrive with a family that enjoys staying engaged with her through exercise, play, and continued training. She is a dedicated chewer, so she will do best with durable toys and activities that keep her busy.
Hattie is affectionate with the people she trusts and has a wonderful ability to bond deeply with her family. She has done well with other animals in her foster home and enjoys companionship. She would do best with adopters who understand dog communication and are willing to continue helping her build confidence in new situations.
Hattie is still a young dog learning how to navigate the world. She can become very focused and overwhelmed when unfamiliar people approach or interact with her family, especially during walks or in her home. She is looking for an adopter who will provide structure, patience, and positive training to help her learn that her people can handle new situations. A home that is comfortable managing introductions, avoiding forced greetings, and continuing her training will help Hattie be successful.
Hattie is a loyal, playful, and loving companion who will bring lots of fun and personality to the right home. She is not looking for a home where she has to be everyone’s best friend immediately—she is looking for someone who appreciates a smart, devoted dog and wants to help her continue growing into the amazing dog she is becoming.
