Meet Binnie🤍 💙 Binnie’s Updates Account: @biniiii_eo 1. Health Condition * Neutered. * Microchipped, fully recovered from heartworm (negative upon retest) * Has a severe underbite/malocclusion, and his upper and lower left canines were broken due to being interlocked. The upper canine has been extracted during dental scaling. 2. Rescue Story * Binnie had been at the Gimje City Shelter for a long time without being rescued due to limited space at the Adogs center. One day, his weight suddenly dropped, raising health concerns. Adogs stepped in just in time to rescue him. 3. Basic Information * With People: Is wary of strangers and is on guard with guests that visit the home. Is especially wary of men. Doesn’t show interest towards people he meets on walks, but becomes wary if they approach him. Shows affectionate charm towards familiar people and has an energetic side. Sticks right by people he likes. * With Dogs: Coexists peacefully with other dogs and doesn’t show much interest first. Doesn’t approach them first to greet but is polite enough to respond to greetings of other dogs on walks. * With Cats: Doesn’t show much interest in cats but he may bark if they approach him suddenly. * Separation Anxiety: Does very well when left alone at home! * Potty Training: Prefers outdoor potty but uses pee pads indoors for urine without any issue. Only poops outdoors and must be taken out. * Hygiene: Handles bathing, brushing, drying, and tooth brushing like a pro.Once a bond of trust is established, he is quite cooperative and allows his nails to be trimmed without much trouble. Has a habit of chewing on his nails, so he’s only getting his nails grinded rather than cut for now. * Walks: When excited, he tries to run ahead. But most of the time, he matches his pace with his handler and doesn’t pull on the leash. Keeps his attention on his handler and walks either beside or behind them. After coming home from a walk, he goes to the bathroom and sticks out his paws to get them cleaned. * Car Sickness: Rests well in a car without motion sickness. * Biting: Occasionally shows defensive nipping toward strangers due to wariness, but this has improved significantly. Has some resource guarding and can be a bit wary of men, so caution and patience are needed. * Barking: At home, he rarely barks except briefly when his meals are being prepared. May occasionally bark when a person or a cat approaches him suddenly. * Likes: Likes walking, playing with a squeaky ball and doing nosework with treats. Wiggles happily when his butt is petted. Is extremely affectionate and deeply attached to those he recognizes as his guardians. * Dislikes: Is uncomfortable with sudden touch. Thanks to consistent desensitization training, he has improved a lot. Ample time and training are necessary before appropriate trust building. Is afraid of loud noises, such as top-loading washing machines, vacuum cleaners, or motorcycles. Is wary of strangers coming into the house. * Tricks: Has excellent recall (comes when called). Has mastered several commands like 'sit,' 'lie down,' 'paw,' 'other paw,' 'nose,' 'high-five,' 'kiss,' and 'house.' * Personality: Is a true angel—a "Giving Tree" in dog form! Once he trusts you, he gives his whole heart. Even when faced with things he dislikes, he patiently endures them for his person, expressing his deep affection with his pure, clear eyes.

Story
We adopted sweet Rinny after losing our oldest dog Lola. Our 2 other rescue pups seemed heartbroken and depressed losing their big sister. In an attempt to fill the void of having to put down the pup that had been with us 15+ years, we went to the Irvine Animal Shelter to see if any dogs pulled on our heart. We saw Rinny and had a meeting with her- she smothered my oldest son with kisses and it was an immediate connection. We took her home that day. At first Rinny seemed to fit in quite well. She is mellow, house trained, great with children (we have 4 young boys under 9) and super snuggly and loving. As you can imagine we have a lively, active home. We are also under construction (some days it’s very loud and lots of banging). She is so stressed and unfortunately our other dogs have not warmed up to her. She deserves to be in a quiet and peaceful environment for her senior years, not in our fraternity house. We want her to be happy and feel bad that she is under constant distress.

Story
Meet Marcy the adorable Foxie Doxie, a resilient and joyful 2-year-old female Fox Terrier and Dachshund mix who is ready to bounce her way into your heart! Rescued from a high-kill shelter where she landed on the euthanasia list due to a severe upper respiratory infection, Marcy spent days in the hospital fighting for her life. With incredible spirit and top-notch medical care, she made a full recovery and is now 100% healthy, spayed, fully vaccinated, and bursting with energy. True to her roots, Marcy is the definition of upbeat and playful. She is boisterous, goofy, and still has that irresistible puppy-like sparkle at two years old. Whether she is zooming around the yard, tossing her toys in the air, or leaning in for a full-body wiggle, her happiness is contagious. Despite all her silly energy, Marcy has a remarkably gentle and patient side that shines. Her playful, affectionate and sweet nature means she bonds deeply with her people and is always ready to be your shadow or your comedian whichever the moment calls for. Marcy has already proven she is a fighter with a heart of gold. Now she is looking for her forever family to share all that love and zoomies with. Could that be you? This playful, affectionate, goofy girl is ready to make every day brighter are you ready to give her the happy ending she has earned?

Story
PIPER (Grass Valley, CA) Piper is a funny, endearing 15-pound, 8 year old Chihuahua/Rat Terrier mix. She thoroughly enjoys belly rubs, strolls, playful pursuits, catching toys, and sun-bathing in the yard. Piper has been socialized by our outstanding foster, Noel, and gets along with small dogs. However, Piper favors an exclusive companionship with a special someone. If her special someone has other dogs, Piper will confidently assume an alpha role. She has subtle possessiveness that emerges when it comes to sharing attention from her foster. Piper is wonderful on both car rides and leashed walks. She barks infrequently, but can still be a reliable guard dog. Her foster wholeheartedly endorses Piper's remarkable cuddling abilities. Piper readily recognizes her name and demonstrates excellent recall. She is a flexible eater and proficiently uses doggie doors and/or pee pads. Does Piper sound like the one for you? We’d love to hear what you think in the comments below (and your comments help Piper be seen). Meet Abigail! Our dainty little Abigail is pure sweetness and the quintessential lap dog. She loves kisses and cuddles and can snuggle for days. She also enjoys walks but would much rather be snug in your arms. Abigail is 14-years old and weighs 7-lbs. It is hard to imagine that Abigail was found wandering in traffic. A Good Samaritan scooped her up and contacted us; we could not say no to her sad little face. Of course, she is a happy girl now and we will see that the rest of her life is filled with happiness. Abigail has very limited vision and kidney disease, and she requires subq fluids several times a week. Abigail is up to date on shots, fully vetted including a dental and x-rays, microchipped and spayed. Adoption process includes application, interview, home visit, contract and donation. If you are interested in Abigail, please go to our website at homeforeverylivingpet.org and fill out an application. Los Angeles and surrounding area adoptions only

Story
Meet Buffy! Buffy is a dreamy and delightful little granny who is undeniably cute and is sweetness personified. We pulled Buffy from the shelter where she had been surrendered by her family. She is cuddly and affectionate and likes to be wherever her people are. Buffy is 12-years young and weighs a soft and snuggly 8-lbs. She is an active gal who enjoys long walks and car rides. Buffy is housetrained, crate-trained, well-behaved and super food-motivated. However, she does not like to be alone and will bark, so we are looking for a home with a retired person or someone who is home a lot. Buffy is microchipped, up to date on shots, fully vetted, spayed and has had a dental. Adoption process includes application, interview, home visit, contract and donation. If you are interested in Buffy, please go to our website at homeforeverylivingpet.org and fill out an application. We do not adopt out of state.

Story
COURTESY POST - Meet Choo Choo! This adorable little girl is looking for her next forever lap to call her own. Choo Choo is a 6-year-old, 8 lb. Chihuahua who is spayed, microchipped, fully vetted, and ready to find her new family. Sadly, Choo Choos beloved owner passed away, and we are hoping to find her a home where she can continue the spoiled, loved life she has always known. Choo Choo is the definition of a perfect little companion dog. She loves curling up in your lap, burrowing under cozy blankets, and sleeping snuggled up next to her person at night. She also enjoys her neighborhood walks and being by your side for life's simple moments. She has the sweetest personality and the cutest little expressions that will absolutely melt your heart. Choo Choo gets along with everyone she meets and has a gentle, easygoing nature. She has not lived with cats, so we aren't sure how she would do with feline friends. She is not a big barker, but she's a great little watchdog and will let you know if something unusual is going on. After losing her person, Choo Choo deserves another special someone to love and spoil her for the rest of her life. Come meet CHOO CHOO on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month, at H.E.L.P.'s Adoption Event held at Crossroads Petco, 24413 Crenshaw Blvd, Torrance, CA from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm. If you are interested in CHOO CHOO, please go to H.E.L.P. 's website (homeforeverylivingpet.org) and fill out an application.
