Story
Hello, My name is Dodge. I was found wondering the streets on December 16th 2024. I was running under cars trying to avoid getting hit, but because I wanted to be saved, I just couldn't resist "dodging" into traffic! The lady that saved me was already fostering for a dog through a rescue called woofwoof fosters. It was then that i knew that i would be in great hands. I have seen the vet a few times and also went to UT in Knoxville, TN at the rehab center for small animals. I was told that I am approx. 10 years old. I do come with some things that will need to be monitored, but nothing too bad really. The vet wants me to stay on a heart pill that is supposed to help with my suspected heart murmur. I am using eye ointment once every 12 hours and am not allowed to jump up and down on things. I go back to UT for a recheck in Feb. I will go outside to potty and will also use a pee pad. I am looking for my forever home where I can spend the rest of my days in a loving home. I have been through allot, but I am looking forward to cuddling with you! I am very vocal when I'm not being held if you are near me. I just love melting in your arms for a nice long cosey nap, Below is what was sent to my rescue home from UT. Please take a look and see if its something that you wouldn't mind dealing with so I can be your little companion for a while. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to my rescue mommy who is also the founder of woofwoof fosters. She is a really nice lady that is tending to my needs. ( the rescue is also located on her property). Thank you ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ TITLE: DISCHARGE INSTRUCTIONS DATE OF NOTE: JAN 09, 2025@12:22 ENTRY DATE: JAN 09, 2025@12:23:03 AUTHOR: BENNETT,BOBBIE EXP COSIGNER: DRUM,MARTI URGENCY: STATUS: COMPLETED (34-96-26) DODGE DR. Thin body condition 2. Lumbosacral pain - open etiology 3. Left hip pain - open etiology 4. Heart disease (open etiology) - Grade 4/6 murmur - suspect mitral valve disease 5. Hair loss 6. Generalized muscle atrophy (moderately severe) weight: 4.09 kgs (9 lbs.) ============================================================================= CASE SUMMARY: Dodge is an approximately 10 year old male castrated mixed breed dog that presented to UTCVM Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Service for hindlimb lameness and ataxia. He was found 12/16/24 under a truck and taken to a veterinarian where he received radiographs (x-rays) that indicated chronic intervertebral disc disease at the thoracolumbar spinal junction. On physical exam Dodge had some moderate pain in his left hip on extension, moderate pain on compression of the ilial wings bilaterally, and moderate pain on tail extension. Other abnormal physical exam findings included a grade 4/6 heart murmur, some moderate debris in both ears, and some moderate alopecia (hair loss) along his back. All other vital parameters were within normal limits and his neurologic exam was normal. As discussed, there were a couple of different diagnostic and treatment options. One plan included sedated pelvic radiographs to evaluate the hip and lumbosacral junction. If significant arthritis documented, a course of anti-inflammatories if significant arthritis or lumbosacral disease was present. If fully characterizing the degree and cause of his heart disease is a goal, an echocardiogram to determine his heart's current size and function is the starting point. As we discussed, since he is currently on Vetmedin, if his heart is normal on echo it could be an effect of the Vetmedin improving his heart size. A true baseline would be to perform an echo after discontinuing Vetmedin for 30 days. If his echo while on Vetmedin, than routine cardiac follow up per the cardiologist would be standard of care for monitoring progression (usually a repeat echo every 3-12 months depending on severity of disease). Because Dodge still us underweight and just beginning to stabilize into a normal home, we recommended continuing good nutritional support, time, and monitoring to see if Dodge's weakness persists once he gains muscle mass. Though we had also discussed adding fish oils, Dodge had a positive pancreatitis test during his vomiting episode. Fats in the diet can sometimes trigger pancreatitis, so we are recommending waiting until his body weight normalizes before introducing any additional fat into the diet. Similarly, the addition of the anti-inflammatories could disrupt the GI system and since his mobility is fully functional, we prefer to wait at this time to start any anti- inflammatories. If you note worsening of his mobility, difficulty rising or limping on the left hind, then we would consider starting an NSAID medication for dogs. ============================================================================= MEDICATIONS: 1. Vetmedin 1.25 mg: Give as previously prescribed 2. Optimmune: Give as previously prescribed ============================================================================= CURRENT RECOMMENDATIONS: 1. Continue Dodge's current diet & caloric intake. We calculated his energy requirement as 361 Kcal/day and his Purina One Small Bites contains 362 Kcal. The Lil Cesar's contain between 60-80 Kcal per packet. It is fine to continue the kibble and Cesar wet food at this time. 2. Continue his Dasuquin joint supplement. 3. Monitor for any signs of noticeable gait changes or pain (limping, lameness, holding a paw up, dragging or scuffing paws, swelling, vocalizing or reacting to palpation, unusual posturing, etc.) 4. Regular exercise: We do want Dodge to rebuild muscle as he is gaining weight. The best low impact exercise would be walking. We recommend starting the 10-20 minute walks once daily. ============================================================================= FUTURE RECOMMENDATIONS: 1. Consider adding in an omega 3 supplement (fish oil) if skin/coat does not respond to a high quality balanced diet. 2. Consider an echocardiogram for full cardiac evaluation with the Cardiology service. ============================================================================= RECHECK EXAM: WHEN: In about 6 weeks (~February 20th) WHERE: UTCVM Physical rehabilitation service WHY: Re-evaluation of mobility, hips, and lower back for further treatment options. ============================================================================= Thank you so much for bringing in Dodge today. He was the sweetest boy!!! If you have any other questions or concerns about Dodge's care, please don't hesitate to reach out. /es/ MARTI DRUM DVM, PhD, DACVSMR SACS Rehabilitation Signed: 01/09/2025 13:27 for BOBBIE JO BENNETT MSc, Clinical Student - Class of 2025 /es/ MARTI DRUM DVM, PhD, DACVSMR SACS Rehabilitation Cosigned: 01/09/2025 13:27 ** END ** This animal is being fostered in the South but transport to a location near you is included in your adoption fee. ✅Currently located in South Korea✅️ 💟Available to fly to JFK/EWR💟 The prices listed are based on USD, and the adoption fee will be calculated in CAD according to the exchange rate. Meet Binnie🤍 💙 Binnie’s Update Account: @imbo_family_ 1.) Health Condition * Neutered. * Microchipped, and fully recovered from heartworm. 2.) Rescue Story * Binnie had been at the Gimje City Shelter for a long time without being rescued due to limited space at the Adogs center. One day, his weight suddenly dropped, raising health concerns. Adogs stepped in just in time to rescue him. 3.) Basic Information * With People: Is shy a bit with new people. As a result of consistent training, he has become much less wary, even taking treats and sniffing people he has never seen before. Acts cute and shows a lot of energy around familiar people. * With Dogs: Coexists peacefully with other dogs and doesn’t show much interest first. Doesn’t approach them first to greet but is polite enough to respond to greetings of other dogs on walks. Showed some defensive nipping to sudden approaches in the past but has improved a lot after meeting more dogs. * With Cats: Waits gently when seeing cats. * Separation Anxiety: Does very well when left alone at home and rests! When left alone with strangers, he either approaches them and barks at or sniffs them. When with his foster parent’s mother and another stranger, he growls and is wary of the stranger if they approach the mother. Gets trained and corrected when his foster parent is with him. * Potty Training: Prefers outdoor potty but uses pee pads indoors without any issue. * Hygiene: Handles bathing, brushing, drying, and tooth brushing like a pro. * Walks: Loves walks and matches his pace to yours! Doesn’t get surprised by motorcycles or the sounds of cars. Looks around and is relaxed on walks. * Car Sickness: Rests well in a car without motion sickness. * Barks and may show defensive biting when strangers who visit the home or strangers on walks suddenly reach out their hands to him. Doesn’t like his territory being intruded upon and sometimes nips in such situations. Is getting constant training to fix it. * If a person runs in Binnie’s direction from afar, he sometimes barks defensively. * Likes walking, playing with a squeaky ball and doing nosework with treats. Wiggles happily when his butt is petted. * Is sensitive around his belly, so it is recommended to pet the area softly. Is scared of staircases in buildings and is currently being trained slowly with treats. For now, he is still being carried when he has to climb the steps. * Has mastered several commands like 'sit,' 'lie down,' 'paw,' 'another paw,' 'nose,' 'high-five,' 'kiss,' and 'house.'

Story
This special little one year old chihuahua is called Magic Maude.  And especially sensitive little girl, that somehow got just a little too round and is on a dedicated exercise in nutrition program to drop some weight.  Currently, she is eighteen pounds and we field that she would be best to be in the ten to twelve pound range as a goal.  She originally was in a chaotic home that animal control had to step in and take away 112 chihuahuas that we're living in the home.  An unfathomable amount of dogs that were not altered, but yet healthy.  When mod came to our rescue and was put in a foster home. She lay there in her crate for days very depressed and emotionally unresponsive.  She barely moved from the one spot she lay in.   Eventually, after almost two weeks, she perked up with the company of few other chihuahuas coming to join her in her large crate.  Soon she was going on walks with the foster. Mom and seemed to enjoy the freedom of being outside, taking in all the new sights and sounds of the neighborhood.  We know she had never been leash walked due to the overcrowding at her original home.  This girl is spayed and healthy and ready to start all over again. She wants love and we promised her a great family who will love her and take her for walks and treat her like the Magic Maude that she is.  She is currently in Nashville, Tennessee, and can be transported to the northeast region as well. Please write to Critter Cavalry Rescue  at ccrnewengland@gmail.com  if you want to adopt or know more.  PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.November 7, 2025, 6:32 pm

Story
&#226&#156&#168 Mimi – A Tiny Girl Ready for a Big New Beginning   Mimi is a beautiful black-and-tan Chiweenie girl whose sleek little coat shines brightly in the sunlight. At just 4 years old and 6.6 pounds, she is a petite sweetheart who has already been through more change than any little dog should have to endure. Mimi originally came from a home where her owner’s life had begun to spiral out of control. With love and honesty, her owner made the heartbreaking decision to surrender Mimi and her younger Chiweenie companion, GiGi, knowing they deserved stability and care she could no longer provide. The girls were turned into a small-town shelter — and thankfully, Critter Cavalry Rescue stepped in and pulled them to safety, promising them a brighter future. Right now, Mimi is a quiet, gentle girl, likely still processing the loss of her previous life and her mom. She does need to gain about 3 pounds to reach a healthier and more typical weight, but with proper nutrition, care, and love, she is expected to thrive beautifully. Mimi is leash trained and does wonderfully with other dogs and cats. While she isn’t telling us definitively if she’s fully housebroken at the moment, we strongly suspect that she either is or would happily use a pee pad with gentle guidance. She is crate trained, but in a calm home, a cozy dog bed in a small room may be all she needs when her family is away.   This sweet girl has unlimited potential to become the most cuddly, loving companion in your life. Mimi isn’t asking for much — just what every pretty little girl dog deserves: to be cherished, protected, and spoiled as she begins this new chapter. If Mimi sounds like the missing piece in your heart and home, please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com        PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJanuary 17, 2026, 10:46 am

Story
GiGi – Small in Size, Big on Love GiGi is a precious little Chiweenie girl who is about 3 years old and weighs just around 6.4 pounds. Like her sister Mimi, GiGi’s life changed suddenly when the only home she had ever known fell apart. Through no fault of her own, she and Mimi were surrendered when their owner realized she could no longer provide the stability they deserved. The girls were turned into a small-town shelter, and thankfully Critter Cavalry Rescue stepped in and brought them to safety. GiGi is still adjusting to all the changes, but even in the midst of uncertainty, her gentle and affectionate personality is easy to see. GiGi is a friendly, sweet-natured little girl who enjoys being close to her people. She has a slightly more curious side than Mimi and seems eager to understand her new surroundings. She does well with other dogs and has lived peacefully with cats, making her an easy fit for many different home environments. We believe GiGi is either already housebroken or would quickly adapt with a consistent routine or pee pad. She is crate trained, though like many small dogs, she would likely be just as content relaxing on a comfy dog bed in a safe, quiet space when her family is away. GiGi has a soft, loving heart and is simply looking for another chance to belong. She doesn’t ask for much — just patience, kindness, and a family who will love her for the rest of her life. In return, she promises loyalty, affection, and the kind of companionship that makes every day better. If you feel GiGi could be the little friend you’ve been waiting for, please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com  PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJanuary 17, 2026, 10:46 am
