Due to the number of applications being received for each dog, we are only able to contact the applicants who have met ALL the listed Requirements*** Name/Tag#:  Francie 4043 Age: 10 years old Sex/Altered: Female/ Spayed Weight: 7 lbs Breed: Poodle Foster Home Location: OTTAWA, ON Adoption Fee:  $600.00 Temperament: Very loveable Activity/Energy Level: Low Up to date on Shots: Yes Housebroken: Work in progress Crate Trained: No Ok with Dogs:  Yes Ok with Cats:  Yes Ok with Kids:  Yes, kids over 12 years Origin: mill release Requirements:  Securely fenced yard, someone home most of the time, experienced patient owner, no kids under 12 years.    About Francie: Francie’s past included life in a puppy mill. While her past was not kind to her, her future now is bright. Francie is very loving, all she wants is to be right next to people and lap up any attention available. Francie has mastered walking on a leash and enjoys her daily walks. She is fantastic at meeting other dogs, in fact crazy young pups sparks her curiosity, I think it brings her back to the days when she took care of her own puppies. The type of home that would be a great fit for Francie would be one that has patience while she masters toilet training.  Once you get to know her routine, you will know when she needs to be let outside, a backyard helps with this.  She loves being with people all day/night, so someone home most of the time or someone that can take her along with them would be a great fit. Francie could live with another dog, but they would need to know that Francie really wants all hands on her, so as long as they are not jealous then they definitely would be a good match.  Francie needs to be able to sleep with you, which is not a problem since she is tiny, she squeezes herself between the pillows and you won’t even know she is there, when you are ready to start your day, she will wake up along with you. She can hold herself all night. Are you looking for the most loveable companion ever, then look no further, Francie is waiting to hear from you. Questions? Story
Hi! My name is Teddy! I am a 6 year old toy poodle looking for my forever home.  I know what you may be thinking...sweet, adorable, toy poodle who might be suited for sitting on a couch all day snuggling. Well as much as I do enjoy a cuddle with my favourite person, the stereotype couldn't be further from the truth. I am a high energy boy who loves to run and play and explore! I absolutely need to go to an active home who will give me the time and attention I need to be my best self!  I have a bit of a sad story. Unfortunately, I developed some resource guarding issues as a young dog, and my previous owners surrendered me, I was even almost euthanized for it. My foster Mom has been showing me that I don't need to guard things, and that playing WITH people is way more fun than playing on my own. I've even learned to play nice with the 5+ dogs in my foster home! I prefer the small ones and the cats, but even the big dogs aren't as bad as I once thought. Because of the issues I'm working on, my perfect home will not have young children. Everyone in my new home will need to be able to understand my boundaries and rules. I love to learn new tricks and I am learning to like going in the car because that means new adventures! I'm even starting to enjoy my crate because foster mom puts all the best treats and toys in there. I have a silly, goofy personality and make my foster parents laugh all the time. At heart, I'm really just a shy dog who's learning the big ways of the new world...and I think I'm really digging it!  From my foster mom:  Teddy came to use with some pretty severe resource guarding issues. Although he has come so far in the time he's been with us, we are asking any potential adopters to be fully aware that this is a process and not a solution. We ask anyone who would like to adopt him to attend an information and training session on resource guarding with the team at Hanks Have. Teddy has thrived with positive reinforcement techniques and we aim to find him a home who will continue this work and give him the best life possible. To apply for Teddy, please fill out an application here: Adoption Information (hankshaven.ca). Please ensure to describe your experience with resource guarding as he will need owners with experience. * Teddy is being fostered in Bracebridge *Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 25, 2024, 4:41 pm
