Story

Thank You for your cooperation*** Please read listings fully to the end before applying for one of our beloved rescues. WE ARE NOT A SHELTER; WE ARE AN ALL-VOLUNTEER RESCUE WITH FULL-TIME JOBS. Please do not contact us to look at a dog. We will contact you once we have reviewed your completed application if we think your home might be a good fit. A reference check, phone interview, and home visit will be completed before meeting an adoptable dog. We work quickly. Please do not submit an application until you are ready to bring a new furry family member home. Expect your references to be contacted shortly after submitting your application. We adopt out to homes around the US and Canada, but require that you are present for the meet and greet in Newcastle, WA. Our adoption fee is non-negotiable. The adoption fee is due on the day of adoption in the form of a check, Zelle or cash. We no longer accept PayPal because of his fees & charges but if the potential adopter is willing to pay them we will accept PayPal. The lovely Tong Tong is the sweetest girl of a beautiful mum who we had in the rescue, who was used over & over again as a breeding machine to make money off in China. She was sent to the the slaughterhouse for human consumption to be slaughtered while pregnant with Tong Tong & her siblings. The sheer terror & disgust of these beautiful dogs life stories is soul destroying. Thank goodness the outstanding Chinese rescuer, rescued this beautiful mum & looked after her while she was pregnant so she could have her babies & got her well & helped her & her puppies so they could have a better life. We were asked could we help everyone & here is the very loving Tong Tong looking to be cherished as she should be. We got her mum adopted as she arrived before Tong Tong but while in China Tong Tong apparently got some type of reaction to the food & became bawled & lost all of her fur & was extremely thin. With her foster mums dedication Tong Tong has grown all of her fur back apart from her ears but has started to grow back. Tong Tong is alive & happy because of our amazing Chinese rescuer & just as always we are beyond grateful to her & we are so extremely grateful for what she does day in & day out for these babies & there is also such a great financial responsibility when rescuing these babies so we cannot begin to thank her enough. Tong Tong was bought back to the USA where she is now a US citizen & is so happy to be here & can’t wait to find her new loving devoted forever home. Tong Tong’s foster mum said this girl is now so easy to love & that’s all she wants from you. When she first went into her foster home she was very uncertain of everything but she trusted her foster mum instantly & fell in love with her. Well let’s face it, of course everything was new to her even a different language was spoken. When she first arrived she was absolutely terrified of dogs & she would scream her head off at the site of another dog or a dog coming near her. It was bloody curdling to hear her scream & to watch her. But her foster mum worked with her & taught her that other dogs were wonderful. So her new home has to make room for her in their bed with her. She is the biggest, loving & cuddly sweetheart you will ever meet. Her foster mum calls her & she comes running to be picked up & cuddled & given love & to be carried around. But she is very independent to & will go do her own thing when she wants to. We currently have Tong Tong with other dogs in her loving foster home & she loves taking naps with them snuggled up to them. From the day she arrived she has been obsessed with food & no surprise with what happened in China. This girl eats home cooked food & is such a good eater now & loves a good treat. She eats, fruits, vegetables, raw proteins & grains. She gets so excited when it’s time to eat. She is still so extremely thin & will need to continue to put on weight in her new home. She is not a big outdoors girl & prefers to be inside. She would need continued work on his harness & leash. Did we mention this girl loves a good outfit, well yes she does. In China in her foster home she always had an outfit on & in her foster home here she is used to being dressed up. She also is good with both male & females. She will follow her especially when she goes upstairs. She is so very smart, she taught herself to run up & down the hardwood stairs in the home & the stairs to climb up onto the couch. She enjoys snuggling on the couch with her dog friends or foster mum & dad. Tong Tong’s new forever home must have a fully fenced backyard. Tong Tong is good with being bathed & is even good when being dried with a hairdryer, she lays in his foster mums arms & just waits for her to finish drying her. She loves to be groomed & will just lay there & let you groom her. Tong Tong rides beautifully in the car & loves a good journey, so great in the car. We are looking for a crate free home for this little lady only. We are also looking for a forever home for Tong Tong where someone is home during the day or she can go with her people wherever possibly she can go with them. Tong Tong is looking for a forever home who will cherish her & love her as she should be loved & be patient with her. Tong Tong has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes & she is currently with other dogs & does well. Tong Tong needs to go to a forever home with another dog or dogs in the home, as she now really enjoys the company of other dogs & we currently have her with other dogs in a loving foster home. This is mandatory along with a fully fenced secure backyard. Tong Tong is roughly 4 lbs & has put on over 1 lbs with us as when she arrived she was extremely thin. She is 2 years old & possibly a toy poodle, what she is mixed with we are not sure. She is female, she is spayed, she had a dental scale/polish & dental x-rays. She had 4 teeth removed, 2minor molars, 1 premolar & 1 intermediate. Poor Tong Tong had a tooth abscess that our vets took care of. She stopped eating in her foster home & that’s where it was discovered she had problems in her mouth as she had developed a foul odor from her mouth. She is microchipped. She is up to date on her shots, including DHLPP, Bordatella, rabies, & dewormed. We have spent far more on Tong Tong with bringing her to the US with her travel costs, her medical & bringing her to WA than her adoption fee covers. Tong Tong has not been around cats since being in the rescue. But it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together & we have not had her around small children so we do not recommend small children nor cats & it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children & cats. Please do not apply saying your neighbors have a dog or family members or you will take her to places where there are other dogs. That will not work, another dog or dogs is mandatory along with a fully fenced backyard. We were not there when Tong Tong was conceived so we do not know who her dad is but we know her mum is & we rescued her & got her adopted. But it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think her breed is. But we do factually know who her mum is & she is another chocolate poodle. As with all of our rescues & Tong Tong’s friends she will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is Tong Tong potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond. We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying. Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Tong Tong & going through our process and have read her listing fully to the end & are wanting to adopt. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on & remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a virtual home visit via WebEx due to covid & followed by a meet and greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Tong Tong who understands her needs & that meet all the requirements for this special sweet little lady. Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives & please do not submit an application if you are not ready to adopt. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately. We have spent far more on Tong Tong than her adoption fee comes close to covering. Tong Tong has an adoption fee of $500 & is ready for her truly loving forever home & compassion & understanding of what she has been through.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Spirit is a mature  neutered male poodle born in 2013 that has been through hell in his  life.  He was a loving companion until his momma left him with a relative that apparently abused him. When he got here he would  charge and attack anyone he felt was a threat.  We got him 07/01/2016. Now he loves getting treats and being groomed.  But when he has had enough, he gives a warning growl.  He hasn't bit anyone in three years, but he is not suitable for a family with children because he is unpredictable.  He wants to be loved on, but gets jealous if another dog comes up for attention.  He really needs a home with someone who is patient and kind.    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 29, 2023, 10:31 am

Story
Mitzi, now called Chloe by her foster family, is a beautiful and gentle, easygoing Bichon - a breeding mama saved from a commercial breeder. Her foster family says she has fit in so well with their Bichon and Bichon mix, that sometimes it's hard to tell which one is which! Chloe is smart and learns quickly! She gets along with dogs of all sizes, including a Rottweiler that the foster family was pet sitting! Chloe has done well with a 3 year old little girl and has even been camping - she loved the outdoors! Chloe even leads her foster brothers on their outdoor walks, but is still cautious in learning new surroundings! Mitzi-Chloe is now spayed, fully vaccinated and ready for her forever family - could that be you?? We are extending our reduced adoption fee for adult and senior dogs through the month of August, so don't wait!! Story
Darling sweet and shy Mini is a Bichon Frise who came to us shy and sick as a breeding mama from a commercial breeder - but look at her now! She had a rough start when she arrived as she was extremely sick with an infection, but now that she is spayed, had a dental and her teeth are sparkling clean - she is looking for her retirement in the PNW. She is also fully up to date on vaccinations. Bichons are affectionate, playful and beautiful. Mini will need a minute to get her feet on the ground and settle into her new life of luxury, she is looking for that special home to make it all happen for her to become the pampered pooch she deserves to be! Mini has done well with dogs of all sizes and one house cat! While she lived with children at her original farm, we do believe a quieter home with older, respectful children or adult only home may be best for her. To adopt Mini: please go to our website at www.pacificrimrescue.org, in the upper right hand corner, select ADOPT and from the drop down menu, click on Adoption Application and fill out the online form there!
