The very best relationships in life are built on trust, patience, love, and the quiet decision to keep showing up for one another. Crumb is looking for that kind of connection — the kind where someone truly understands her and gives her the time she needs to feel safe.
Crumb is a deeply sweet and sensitive girl who’s learning that the world can be kind. She’s naturally shy with new people and unfamiliar situations, so trust doesn’t happen overnight for her. But when it does? It’s incredibly special. Beneath that timid exterior is a gentle soul who wants so badly to love and be loved.
Other dogs are Crumb’s comfort zone and her greatest joy. She absolutely thrives around them, and having a confident canine companion helps her feel secure enough to let her playful side shine through. With dog friends by her side, Crumb lights up — playing, chewing on her favorite toys, and settling happily into the routines that make her feel safe.
Every day, Crumb is growing braver. In her foster home, she’s become comfortable and relaxed, and she continues making beautiful progress with leash walks, especially in calm, quiet areas. She’s the kind of dog who teaches you to appreciate the little victories: a tail wag, choosing to come closer, a moment of confidence where fear used to be. Watching her blossom is something truly rewarding.
Crumb is looking for a calm, patient home that understands confidence is built, not forced. Another friendly dog in the home is essential for her — she leans on canine companionship for reassurance and guidance. She would do best in a quieter environment rather than city living, with older, respectful children if any are in the home. A secure fenced yard would help tremendously, and experience with shy or undersocialized dogs would be wonderful, though what matters most is kindness, consistency, and compassion.
Crumb may not be the dog who runs up to strangers right away, but for the person willing to earn her trust, the bond you’ll build with her will mean everything. She is the kind of dog who changes you — who reminds you that love isn’t always loud, and that the most meaningful connections are often the ones built slowly, gently, and with intention.
And the best part? Crumb is already trying. She wants this. She wants her person.

Meet Me Program: Dogs featured in our Meet Me Program are participating simply because their foster or a dedicated volunteer is willing and able to take part—this is not based on breed, personality, behavior, or how long a dog has been waiting for a home. Because Mostly Muttz Rescue does not have a physical shelter location, this program allows adopters to connect directly with the people who know each dog best. It’s a great opportunity to ask questions, learn more about daily life with the dog, and even schedule an individual meet & greet at an approved location—either before applying or while your application is pending.
