Story
Crumb is a sweet, sensitive girl who’s learning that the world isn’t such a scary place after all. She’s very shy with people at first and needs time, patience, and understanding to build trust—but once she feels safe, her true personality starts to shine.
Crumb loves other dogs and absolutely thrives around them. Having a confident canine companion helps her feel secure and brings out her silly, excited play side. She LOVES playing with dog friends, chewing on her favorite toys, and soaking up the comfort of a familiar routine.
Crumb is still building confidence and continuing her socialization, so she’s looking for a calm, patient adopter who will move at her pace and celebrate the small wins along the way. With consistency, kindness, and the support of another dog in the home, Crumb will continue to blossom.
Crumb has just begun leashed walks and is doing well with a doggie friend and encouragement.
Crumb’s ideal home:
• Must have another dog in the home
• Patient, understanding adopter willing to build trust
• Committed to helping her gain confidence and continue socialization
• Not built for city living
• Children in the home should be older and respectful of where Crumb is at in her confidence journey
• Secure, fenced in yard required at this time.
• Bonus points if you have prior experience with shy, undersocialized dogs.
Crumb may start off timid, but her heart is big—and with the right home, she’s going to blossom and be something really special. Crumb’s foster is willing to provide advice and guidance after adoption.
Crumb is fostered in Reading (Berks County), Pennsylvania and is ready to find her furever family.
Crumb is spayed, has all appropriate shots and has been 4DX tested.

Meet Me Program: Dogs featured in our Meet Me Program are participating simply because their foster or a dedicated volunteer is willing and able to take part—this is not based on breed, personality, behavior, or how long a dog has been waiting for a home. Because Mostly Muttz Rescue does not have a physical shelter location, this program allows adopters to connect directly with the people who know each dog best. It’s a great opportunity to ask questions, learn more about daily life with the dog, and even schedule an individual meet & greet at an approved location—either before applying or while your application is pending. To get started, email meet_me@mostlymuttz.org with your contact information, and the dog’s foster or volunteer will be in touch.
