Lady is being fostered in TX. HI! I am delighted that you are interested in knowing more about me! I am about 3 months old*. My absolute passions are EAT, MOVE and Cuddle! In fact, among my many super pawers is my super sense of smell, so I became highly excited when smelling delicious foods around me! My foster mamma and I are working hard to learn how to harness this super power! My second super power is my high level of energy and my strong curiosity, I guess that makes three super powers, isn’ it? If you don’t give me a job to do, I will find it on my own! So it is very important for me that you become my guiding light. Yet, I also want you to be soft and cuddle with me in quiet times, since I actively look for bonding, reassurance, and safety. I am good with kiddos, but I will prefer kiddos 6+ since I - for now - get excited and might scratch them by accident. Also, I highly benefit from tolerant and playful siblings who can help me balance when the puppyhood zoomies come! Did I tell you that I am already potty trained? YUP!!! I am proudly potty trained. Regarding my eyes, I have Microphthalmia which “is a congenital condition where one or both eyeballs are abnormally small” on my right eye. My foster momma is seeing a little cloudiness on my left eye*, so I am going to visit an eye specialist in mid August. However, I have not presented any issue navigating the house, jumping the stairs, or avoiding any obstacles in the backyard. I am sure my foster momma will update any relevant info after our appointment. Are you ready to love me? * By the time of this writing on July 2nd. BDRA has voted against the use of eletrical fencing effective immediately.

Story
Copper is a very good dog and we are devastated that we need to surrender him. He’s very lazy most of the time but enjoys running around outside when given the opportunity to play with kids and/or other dogs. He’s great with children of all ages as well as other pets and chickens. He responds to his name when called, is crate and house trained, knows a few small tricks. We only hope he goes to a very loving home with a family who will take good care of him. It would be great if we’d be able to hear from his new family with updates but it’s not expected.

Story
Gingerbread is a gentle hound mix who has been learning that the world can be a safe and kind place. She can be shy with new people at first, but with patience and consistency, her confidence is steadily growing and she is blossoming beautifully. Watching her take those small steps forward is incredibly rewarding. She is currently still a little nervous on a leash, but Gingerbread is being very brave and working through it beautifully. She does best when given a gentle push to help her realize she’s capable of more than she thinks. Gingerbread will do best in a home with another dog to help her overall confidence and a patient, understanding adopter who is willing to encourage her growth. A quieter, rural or country setting would suit her best right now. Once she feels safe, her personality shines through. Gingerbread is silly, loving, playful and affectionate, and she forms deep bonds with her people. In true hound fashion, she is a foodie, expert snuggler and easily distracted at times. She is looking for an adopter who will be there to cheer her on through every milestone as she settles into a furever home.  Gingerbread is fostered in Reading (Berks County), Pennsylvania and is ready to join a family. Gingerbread is part of our Meet Me Program: Dogs featured in our Meet Me Program are participating simply because their foster or a dedicated volunteer is willing and able to take part—this is not based on breed, personality, behavior, or how long a dog has been waiting for a home. Because Mostly Muttz Rescue does not have a physical shelter location, this program allows adopters to connect directly with the people who know each dog best. This friend has just arrived to us on transport from a high-intake shelter partner! When our friends are new to us, we are often unsure of their full background. Our staff will spend some time getting to know them and update their bio with more information as we learn. They are pending interactions with animals until they have been cleared by our vet. Please note that we often are unsure of house, crate, car, and leash training status upon arrival. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific dog but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! All household members, including children and other dogs, must come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, fecal testing, heartworm testing, and a small bag of food to get you started.
