Story
Lady is being fostered in TX. HI! I am delighted that you are interested in knowing more about me! I am about 3 months old*. My absolute passions are EAT, MOVE and Cuddle! In fact, among my many super pawers is my super sense of smell, so I became highly excited when smelling delicious foods around me! My foster mamma and I are working hard to learn how to harness this super power! My second super power is my high level of energy and my strong curiosity, I guess that makes three super powers, isn’ it? If you don’t give me a job to do, I will find it on my own! So it is very important for me that you become my guiding light. Yet, I also want you to be soft and cuddle with me in quiet times, since I actively look for bonding, reassurance, and safety. I am good with kiddos, but I will prefer kiddos 6+ since I - for now - get excited and might scratch them by accident. Also, I highly benefit from tolerant and playful siblings who can help me balance when the puppyhood zoomies come! Did I tell you that I am already potty trained? YUP!!! I am proudly potty trained. Regarding my eyes, I have Microphthalmia which “is a congenital condition where one or both eyeballs are abnormally small” on my right eye. My foster momma is seeing a little cloudiness on my left eye*, so I am going to visit an eye specialist in mid August. However, I have not presented any issue navigating the house, jumping the stairs, or avoiding any obstacles in the backyard. I am sure my foster momma will update any relevant info after our appointment. Are you ready to love me? * By the time of this writing on July 2nd. BDRA has voted against the use of eletrical fencing effective immediately.

Story
We adopted Dodger from animal services and they didn’t know much about him. He’s about 6 months old. Tree walking hound and we are guessing GSD mix. He was very scared when we got him but he’s opened up and come so far. He has been an amazing dog and we love him so much- this decision has been hard but it’s best for us and him long term. He would thrive in a home without kids or cats and we have both. He loves belly rubs and playing fetch or with his toys and going on walks. He is timid with strangers but after he opens up he is friendly - even at the vet. He showed some possession aggression towards our son over his food and chew treats and we have worked hard with training in those areas and he has vastly improved. He’s smart and food motivated. However he is still unpredictable with our son. Dodger has mastered sit and is working on lay down and paw. He’s good on car rides and does well on walks just wants to sniff everything. Our home just isn’t the right one for him

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Wyatt!Wyatt and his companion, Waylon were found in the Ocala National Forest by a kind man and his son.  The two boys rode into Sanford in the buggy in hopes of finding a place to care for them.  The duo was full of fleas.  Unfortunately not just fleas the two tested positive for heartworms.  They also had other internal parasites.  With the guidance of our vet both dogs have begun the slow kill method for the heartworms. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 22, 2026, 6:20 pm
