Story
Gracie Mae is a four-year-old dog who was originally adopted as a puppy from Forsyth County Humane Society. She has grown into an incredibly affectionate, loyal companion who bonds deeply with her people and loves nothing more than cuddling on the couch once she feels safe and settled. Gracie is an anxious dog by nature and does best in calm, predictable environments. She is especially sensitive to loud or sudden activity. Doorbells, delivery drivers, and unfamiliar people entering the home can trigger barking and heightened anxiety. When given time and repeated, low-pressure exposure, she does warm up and learns that new people are safe. Once she trusts you, she is loving, attentive, and very attached. She currently lives with another dog, an American Bully who is 3 years older, and they get along very well. They play together and coexist peacefully, and Gracie enjoys having a canine companion. Gracie is very food motivated and responds well to treats and positive reinforcement.

Story
Coming Soon... Meet Brulee. Brulee is a beagle that is estimated to be 4 years old. We recently rescued several beagles from a local animal control. Furkids is in the process of vetting all of these dogs. Once they are completely vetted, they will be available for meet and greets and then adoption. We are going to begin screening applications in advance, so that we can get them to their forever home as soon as possible! What we know... these babies are all very SWEET. Because they came from a hoarding case, they have had minimal human exposure and are now learning what it's like to be a normal dog. These dogs will require a fenced yard, as they can't walk on a leash. Due to the breed and how much they like to howl, we are not recommending apartments due to noise concerns. If you are interested in learning more about this baby or the others we rescued, please apply to furkids.org.

Story
Teen mom looking for a new lease on life! Raven is a petite (24-pound) beagle mix who was thrust into motherhood at a very young age, but she proved to be a wonderful, devoted mom to her puppies. Now that her job is done, Raven is ready to find her own happily-ever-after. Raven keeps her foster family laughing with her playful antics, which include chasing her favorite stuffed toys and balls—and occasionally her own tail. She has a fun, joyful personality balanced by a love for cuddles and belly rubs. She gets along beautifully with other dogs and would enjoy having a canine playmate, but she would also be perfectly content soaking up all the love and attention as the center of someone’s world. Raven is a delightful mix of playful and affectionate and is ready to bring happiness, laughter, and love to her forever home! Raven currently weighs about 24lbs., is approximately 3 years old (est. birth date 02/06/2023), and her adoption fee is $315. Raven has been spayed, is up to date on all vaccinations & preventatives, and is microchipped. If you want to know more about Raven, please complete a survey at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FKDS/Dog. After submitting a survey, an adoption counselor will contact you within 72 hours to give you more information about the dog you are interested in adopting and to arrange for you to meet. You must be at least 21 years of age to adopt.
