Story
Gracie Mae is a four-year-old dog who was originally adopted as a puppy from Forsyth County Humane Society. She has grown into an incredibly affectionate, loyal companion who bonds deeply with her people and loves nothing more than cuddling on the couch once she feels safe and settled. Gracie is an anxious dog by nature and does best in calm, predictable environments. She is especially sensitive to loud or sudden activity. Doorbells, delivery drivers, and unfamiliar people entering the home can trigger barking and heightened anxiety. When given time and repeated, low-pressure exposure, she does warm up and learns that new people are safe. Once she trusts you, she is loving, attentive, and very attached. She currently lives with another dog, an American Bully who is 3 years older, and they get along very well. They play together and coexist peacefully, and Gracie enjoys having a canine companion. Gracie is very food motivated and responds well to treats and positive reinforcement.

Story
A HANDSOME FRIENDLY FELLOW:  Approx. 10 years old / Approx. 35 lbs. & needs to lose weight Hi there, I’m Monroe!  I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control, and I’m thrilled to be here getting a 2nd chance at finding a great home!  I needed bloodwork before my neuter surgery, and I had that done thanks to a generous grant from The Grey Muzzle Organization! Now I’m ready to find my furever family! Perhaps it’s you?  I’m currently in a great foster home while I wait for my furever family to find me. • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I met some dogs recently at Mostly Mutts and was interested, although I didn’t want to play with them, I also didn’t show any aggression.  I enjoyed taking walks and sharing toys and beds with the 8-year-old female dog in my temporary foster home, but didn’t enjoy sharing with a different larger golden doodle in another – perhaps he was just too energetic for me.  I prefer the more mellow dogs I have met, so if you have a nice, mellow dog at home, let’s meet and see if we can be pals.  / I met a cat while visiting a temp. foster home and I was unsure, but not aggressive. There were 2 cats in another temp. foster, and I didn’t do too well with them, so perhaps no kitties for me. / I met two nice boys around 8 and 10 years old at Mostly Mutts and liked them.  I even didn’t mind when they rode a scooter near me.  I also liked the kids age 7-14 in my temp. foster home, and I even followed 2-year-old twins around so gently and sweetly in another home I visited.  A home with kids 10 years old (or a little younger) could be a good fit for me.  Let’s meet! • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m a sweet, gentle boy who loves people and has a happy and friendly nature.  Like many dogs of my breed mix, I’m also quite vocal, so I’ll do best in a home where I can sing my songs without bothering any neighbors.  No apartment/condo type home please.  I came in very stressed, but once I had time to settle, my calm and loving side started to shine.  I was even a champ for my bath, leaning into the soothing massage and ear cleaning like it was a spa day.  I’m a hefty guy but working hard on losing some weight using the green bean diet, and I’m very proud of my 8-pound weight loss.  With love, patience, and a cozy home, I know I’ll thrive. / Energy level: 4-6. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I know the ‘sit’, ‘come’, ‘stay’, ‘drop it’, ‘leave it’, and ‘place’ commands.  I also walk nicely on a leash and accept friendly strangers without jumping.  I bet you can teach me even more!  / I don’t love being in my crate, and I can be loud when in it.  Luckily, I haven’t really needed one in my foster homes.  / My potty habits are good in my foster home, where I enjoy 3-4 walks a day to potty and sniff around.  Hopefully that’ll be the case in my new home, too!  • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I love spending time in the great outdoors sniffing all the wonderful scents!  I also really enjoy soaking up all the scratches around my head and ears – feels so good!  I also love a good game of fetch, followed by some belly rubs and a nice nap.  I have a special Kong treat ball that’s tasty and fun – just watch the treats as I’m doing so well losing weight on my “green bean diet.”  I’m sure we’ll discover lots of other things we enjoy doing together! / I don’t like being picked up and when there’s too much going on.  Otherwise, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training.   • MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered.  I recently started on a low dose of anxiety medication, to help me with some shelter stress I’ve been experiencing.  I’m on an over-the-counter joint supplement that is good for all older dogs.  I have moderate tartar on my teeth, so my adoptive family should consult with their vet and consider a dental cleaning in the future.  Be sure to ask about my green bean diet so I can continue to lose weight in my new home.  I’m looking for a great family that loves the hound dog vocal breed mix! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  January 22, 2026, 12:13 pm

Story
‘HAIRDO’ THEMED PUPPY:  Approx. 3 months old / Approx. 14 lbs. & growing Hi there, I’m Buzz! I’m one of the adorable Hairdo-themed puppies who came to Mostly Mutts when we were all looking for families of our own. My siblings have since been adopted, but I’m still waiting for my furever family to come and adopt me.  I’m so grateful to be with Mostly Mutts and in a wonderful foster home where I’m learning lots of new things and having a great time while I wait. I’m a sweet pup with my whole future ahead of me, and I can’t wait to meet the family who will love me forever!  • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I loved my siblings and the other dog in my foster home, too.  I understand her corrections and like to nap with her.  Of course I like playing with other dogs, too.  So, if you have a nice dog already that would like a puppy friend, let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I’ve met kids that were 8 years old and older in my foster home and I liked them!  Of course, I’m in the mouthy stage of puppyhood, so have a toy to redirect me when I get playfully mouthy with the kids.  Best no toddlers that may fall on me.       • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m a fun, friendly, sweet, and happy little pup who enjoys playtime, and loves my people a lot!  I want to be near them, and cuddle time is a must as that’s one of my favorite things to do with my people.  I’m very loving and just like any young puppy, I play hard and nap hard, soaking up all the joy of being a baby. / My current energy level is 5-7. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I’m looking for a family that will teach me everything I need to know to grow up and become a wonderful adult dog – including starting to train me not to chew on you and the kids so we’ll all be happy - so get ready for some training with your new best friend. / I go in and out of my crate during the day and sleep in a puppy pen with pee pads at nighttime.  I don’t like to be left alone at first, but I settle down after a few minutes. / I’m currently learning to use a pee pad and am getting the hang of that, however I’m still at the beginning of my potty training, so I’ll need my new family to take me out in our yard consistently and be committed to my potty training.    • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I love playing with my people and other dogs – so let’s bust out the toys for a game of fetch and some Nylabones for chewing on.  I also love ice cubes from the freezer – yum!  Of course I take plenty of naps (I am a puppy, after all) and do tons of cuddling with my people which is awesome!  I’ve started to learn how fun exploring is, and I am big enough to climb the stairs now, so keep a close eye on me as I’m learning the rules of my new home.  I’m sure we’ll find lots of other things we will love doing together as I grow up. / I’m not a huge fan of the bath yet, otherwise I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I've started my puppy shots, but you will have to finish these for me as I grow.  I’m also micro-chipped and neutered. If you’re ready for the fun and excitement of having a puppy as well as the training commitment, then let’s meet!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.      February 9, 2026, 7:27 am
