We are guessing Rocky to be between 5-7 years old. He is calmer and would be fine as an only dog but also does okay with other dogs, he just doesn't seem to need a canine companion. He is more set in his ways and is relearning that people are good. He enjoys being pet and is social, but he doesn't like to be forced to do something before he is ready. We anticipate that he will bond quickly with his new family, but would do best if that family could give him the space that he needs while he learns to trust them. He is completely crate trained. We are looking for a home with no children for River. She is the sweetest dog. She sleeps most of the time, and she loves to lay out in the sun. She is older and we want a calm home for her. While a fenced yard is not a requirement, it should be noted that she has learned to clear 4ft fencing so a taller fence, in ground fence or tie out system is needed if the dog will be outside without supervision. River is a calm sweet girl, approximately 65 pounds and guessing 8 years old. She is potty trained and crate trained and is very food motivated. We think that she used to be a trained hunting dog because of her enthusiasm to run out the door and jump into a crate in the car. She is great with other dogs and cats and is mild mannered around her people. She crates lovely and is currently in her crate through the night or when her foster family isn't in the home. At her previous home before coming into rescue, we were told that she was fine when left loose in the house. River was heartworm positive when she came into rescue and will require monthly heartworm prevention. If you are interested in meeting and/or adopting this baby, please fill out an application. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.I’m Bonnie and I’m a hound dog and I like doing hound things – following bunny trails in the yard, sniffing out the bushes for anything that needs to be “treed”, ensuring all packages entering the house are thoroughly examined for potential dog treats, helping to keep the kitchen clean (floor and counters!), and scoping out the neighbor’s yard from the deck. My favorites things are going for walks, peanut butter, dog chews and meeting people. I love giving “hound hugs” and get pets. With my curious nature, I investigate everything in the yard and the house. But when I’m done running around outside and have ensured all is good in the house, I’m all up for Netflix and chill, cuddling up with my person and napping. I’ll need a well-built fenced yard (I can climb chain linked fences!) and a cat-free home. I’m an alpha dog, so I’ll do best in a single dog home and someone to help me with my separation anxiety. I came into the humane society being positive for heartworms (this is caused from being bitten by a infected mosquito which is very common in the USA). They were so nice and helped me go through treatment which took several months, but now I am all better and can’t wait to find my forever home. She is a Beagle/Chihuahua mix with short hair that does not shed or need grooming. Ginger is spayed, up to date on her veterinary needs and weighs a trim 16 pounds. She is house trained and walks well on a leash but does not show the need to go outside often as she is very comfortable lounging in the house. Ginger gets along very well with her other dog friends and does not mind cats, She is good with children and very affectionate once she is familiar with people. Her experience has made her quite resourceful and she will 'ask' for extra treats so she can hide them for a rainy day along with other treasures she may find. Ginger would be a loyal and loving companion in a relatively calm environment with few people. As her foster, she has been a true pleasure to have and watch her blossom into a very happy furry friend. Ginger does have a treatable condition called Polycythemia Vera. This is a condition that causes too high of a red blood cell count. The treatment is blood letting every 10 weeks. With this simple treatment, Ginger will lead a normal happy life. If Ginger's adopter continues to use our veterinarian, there is a grant set up to pay for the treatment of her condition. She exhibits no symptoms from this condition. Free! Roxy is a sweet, loyal mixed breed (Shar Pei/Beagle/Lab mix) who is about 8-9 years old. She’s been a beloved part of our family for the past two years, and this decision to rehome her comes with a very heavy heart. Roxy is incredibly affectionate and loves to be close to her people. She’s happiest curled up beside you or following you around the house. She bonds deeply and is the definition of loyal. She is house trained but does best when someone can supervise her potty breaks, as she sometimes struggles to go when she’s outside alone. Roxy has some separation anxiety and needs a calm, patient home that can help her feel safe and secure. She gets along with some other dogs after slow introductions but cannot live with cats. Because she’s sensitive and startles easily, she’d do best in a quieter home, ideally with older kids or adults only. Roxy would make a wonderful companion for someone who’s home often and wants a loyal, loving dog to share their days with.
