You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Ginger.  This sweet girl is about eight years old.  She is a Beagle/Chihuahua mix with short hair that does not shed or need grooming. Ginger is spayed, up to date on her veterinary needs and weighs a trim 17 pounds. She is house trained and walks well on a leash but does not show the need to go outside often as she is very comfortable lounging in the house.  Ginger gets along very well with her other dog friends and does not mind cats,  She is good with children and very affectionate once she is familiar with people.  Her experience has made her quite resourceful and she will 'ask' for extra treats so she can hide them for a rainy day along with other treasures she may find.Ginger loves hopping up on the couch to snuggle with her foster Dad.  She also enjoys chilling by herself.  She would thrive in a quiet household with another dog to be friends with.    Ginger would be a loyal and loving companion in a relatively calm environment with few people. As her foster, she has been a true pleasure to have and watch her blossom into a very happy furry friend.  She would be a great dog for a low key person.   Ginger does have a treatable condition called Polycythemia Vera.  This is a condition that causes too high of a red blood cell count.  The treatment is blood letting every 13 weeks.  With this simple treatment, Ginger will lead a normal happy life.  If Ginger's adopter continues to use our veterinarian, there is a grant set up to pay for the treatment of her condition.  She exhibits no symptoms from this condition.   Can you find it in your heart to help this good girl?  She will love you with her whole heart.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 3, 2026, 2:05 pm

Story
Sup, humans? I’m Pete. Let’s get one thing straight: I’m house trained, crate trained, and basically perfect (I don’t let it go to my head… okay, maybe a little). I know my name, I know commands, and I know how to get all the attention I deserve. I’m great with kids, I tolerate other pets (but I do expect polite introductions), and I love hanging out, whether it’s chilling on the couch, stealing your spot on the bed, or supervising your snack time. Speaking of snacks… yeah, I like those a lot. Don’t judge. So, if you want a smart, sweet, cuddle-loving sidekick who will make your life way more fun, I’m your guy. Honestly, who could resist this face anyways?

Story
Samwell Tarly (aka Tucker) is back and looking for his forever home!  Samwell Tarly (knows Tucker) is a 10yo 20lb Boxer mix who was returned to us through no fault of his own. He is a polite, quiet boy who is house and crate trained, great on the leash and in the car. He has done well with dogs and children, greeting potential adopters with a friendly wag of his tail.  After 24 hours with him in his new foster home, we have learned many things about this sweet boy! 1. He is very well trained! He knows “sit”, “stay”, and “shake” and I’m sure there are even more!  2. He LOVES to be outside and to go for car rides!  3. He is such a smart cookie! He alerts for the bathroom and knows when it’s time to eat!  4. He has a huge heart and the softest ears! He’s a great snuggler!  5. He would make a perfect first pet for someone! Samwell is our first foster (and first pet) and he has done such a great job! He is still getting acclimated, but he’s been such an easy pup!December 1, 2025, 9:29 am

Story
Meet the cutest gal on the block with the best smile, Lucinda! Lu is a 4.5 year old hound, boxer mix who loves her people, including kids, and is full of exuberance. She is also only a medium girl at 45 lbs— the perfect size in our eyes! She came into rescue at 6 months old & was adopted, but was returned 3 years later because the adopter was having a baby. Sweet Lucinda did nothing wrong, & she’s looking for a forever, loving family this time around!  Lucinda loves playing with energetic dog friends after slow meets & is working on manners (she can get a tad bit excited for some hehe)! She would love an active home where she can go on adventures with her people— a favorite of hers is hiking! A family that gives her lots of belly rubs? She says, “yes please!” This wiggly girl is healthy & ready to find her forever home! She is house trained, crate trained, & knows basic commands! She is so smart & is ready to continue learning in a forever home to show a family just how amazing she is!April 23, 2025, 12:21 pm

Story
O Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo?”   SAAP Nation, please give an extra warm welcome to Romeo!!!   When I said “yes” to the shelter to foster Romeo, the picture and description was of a 6 month old, beagle mix, 10lb puppy. However, when I picked up Romeo from our vet to foster, I was greeted by a scared, but sweet, 1 and a half year old, almost 40lb, hound/shepherd/roti mix!! Are they even the same dog?? Yes, I think so, but the Romeo I picked up was maybe a year or more younger in the picture and description the shelter sent us.    What’s a girl to do?? Well, foster the sweetheart deserving of a forever home outside of the shelter too. So that’s what I’ve been doing…. for about 3 weeks now!    Why just now post him? Well, 1. he had pneumonia when he came to me, so we had to clear that up. 2. He was a bit timid, so I really wanted to get to know him and discover his true personality, so I could share it all with you, and 3. He’s the sweetest, gosh darn boy that I just wasn’t that eager to see him leave!    What I now know about him is that he LOVES every single dog that he meets!! He would he a great dog park/doggie daycare pup, because he is obsessed with making friends with other dogs! In fact, I feel he must have another PLAYFUL doggie in his forever home. They can wear each other out playing all day! He’s potty trained when taken out regularly. He’s also crate trained, and sleeps in it wonderfully overnight. He’s still a bit timid around new people, but WOW, when he feels safe and comfortable with you, he loves to get snuggles, praise, and kisses! He’s a “not an aggressive bone in his body” kind of dog and would be great with kids that are patient with him!    Romeo is just a beautiful ray of sunshine with a tiny, roti tail and a corgi butt wiggle when he’s happy, which is most of the time!! He’s neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and healthy as can be now. Does he sound perfect for your home?? Apply now at adoptastray.comand bring Romeo home this weekend!!February 4, 2026, 6:14 pm

This is Hanson; a sweet, 22 pound, leggy boy who wants all the love and will ask for attention if you are not giving it grand enough!  You want a cuddler? Want a sidekick? Want a walking buddy? Well Hanson could be your boy.   Hanson is great in car! See a sidekick! He is potty trained and crate trained! Hanson is good with dogs. Those other furry critters called cats are unknown as he has not been exposed to them. Kids? No worries as he has lived with some at one time and Hanson just loves people.   Hanson has soft fur and a cute little personality!    Hanson may be the perfect one for you!!  December 17, 2025, 9:12 am
