You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Sweet Ginger is back! This good girl hasn't had an easy life. We're pretty sure she spent the first 2 years of her life as a feral dog depending on trash or the kindness of people for food. Well she's far from feral now!She was adopted 2+ years as an only dog by a couple who loved her. They did their best to get her out of her shell but decided she wasn't living her best life so they returned her. Once back here around her Foster's pack she acted like a regular dog. She needs another dog to be with so they can show her the ropes. She loves nylabones and toys and afternoon naps. She is very happy when her foster momma comes home. She stands on her back legs and wiggles. Her best life would be in a fairly calm home with at least one other dog and no young kids.She can't wait to meet you!Ginger does have a treatable condition called Polycythemia Vera.  This is a condition that causes too high of a red blood cell count.  The treatment is blood letting every 6-8 weeks.  With this simple treatment, Ginger will lead a normal happy life.  If Ginger's adopter continue to use our veterinarian, there is a grant set up to pay for the treatment of her condition.Adoption Fee:  $200Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 23, 2024, 7:44 pm

Memphis is a 3-year-old beagle who is just the sweetest little love bug. She weighs approximately 25lbs. She and her sister were both seized from their owner by animal control due to neglect and taken to the shelter. They were both adopted by the next person but then Memphis was returned to the shelter all by herself, because she was having potty accidents in the new owner's house. Memphis is a super sweet, super cuddly little girl. She is dog and people friendly. She even gets along well with cats but will eat their food which tends to cause an issue. Zeke (and Stitch) - These two have been the best of friends since I picked them up from pet wow on the same day. I don't think they knew each other before they came to SAAP, but they have grown very close over the last couple of months. They were both set to be euthanized in February, and are now living the life of luxury in a house! They aren't a bonded pair and don't have to go to the same home, but would probably love to do so. They would be a great fit for anyone looking for two dogs. They are both crate trained and house broken. They were both very very skinny when they came to SAAP, and Zeke has gained weight easily and quickly. Stitch has a hard time keeping weight on because he's very very active and seemingly has a very high metabolism. They're both playful, energetic, gentle, and super sweet. They would love a house with a fenced-in yard. They're great with kids and cats. They're still working on manners, but they are just a little jumpy at times. Meet the cutest gal on the block with the best smile, Lucinda! Lu is a 4.5 year old hound, boxer mix who loves her people, including kids, and is full of exuberance. She is also only a medium girl at 45 lbs— the perfect size in our eyes! She came into rescue at 6 months old & was adopted, but was returned 3 years later because the adopter was having a baby. Sweet Lucinda did nothing wrong, & she’s looking for a forever, loving family this time around!    Lucinda loves playing with energetic dog friends after slow meets & is working on manners (she can get a tad bit excited for some hehe)! She would love an active home where she can go on adventures with her people— a favorite of hers is hiking! A family that gives her lots of belly rubs? She says, “yes please!”   This wiggly girl is healthy & ready to find her forever home! She is house trained, crate trained, & knows basic commands!
