Story
At just 3 months old, Yala is already proving that she's got all the ingredients to become an incredible family dog. This beautiful puppy transferred to BENCHS from another shelter and has quickly won us over with her sweet, curious personality. While we've listed a breed mix as our best guess based on her appearance, the truth is we have no idea what breeds make up this adorable little girl. Whatever she is, she's 100% good girl. Yala approaches life with confidence and enthusiasm, always ready to explore something new or make another friend. She enjoys meeting new people and takes on new experiences with the kind of curiosity that makes puppyhood so much fun. One thing that's clear is that Yala absolutely loves other dogs. She's spent her entire life surrounded by canine companions and is wonderfully social with them. Because of that, we think she would make an excellent addition to a home that's looking to add a second or even third dog to the family. She seems to thrive when she has four-legged friends to learn from, wrestle with, and play alongside. Yala is growing quickly, so her future family should be ready for all the adventures that come with raising a large, active puppy. She's very food motivated, loves working for treats, and is already learning "sit," catching on quickly with positive reinforcement. She also loves Kong toys, enjoys a good belly rub, and is always happy to soak up affection from her people. While we haven't had the opportunity to see how Yala does with cats, we think she would likely do well with a thoughtful, slow introduction. As with any puppy, continued training, socialization, and positive experiences will help her grow into a well-rounded adult dog. Yala is looking for a loving indoor home where she can be a true member of the family, continue learning, and enjoy all the comforts that every puppy deserves. If you're looking for a confident, affectionate puppy who's eager to learn, loves other dogs, and is ready to become your next adventure buddy, Yala just might be the perfect fit.

Story
Tiny but full of charm, Naira is an adorable baby girl who is already accepting applications for her future family! While she isn't quite ready to head home yet, we're excited to begin the search for the perfect match. Naira is expected to be ready for adoption after her spay appointment, approximately August 31 through September 14, when she'll be 8–10 weeks old. Naira's story began in a tent, where her devoted mama gave birth and lovingly cared for her litter. Her mom appears to be a Puggle (Pug/Beagle mix) and weighs about 27 pounds. We aren't sure who Naira's dad is, but we have a DNA test pending and can't wait to learn more about her unique mix! Right now, Naira is living with her mom and her five siblings, making a litter of six puppies. They're all girls except for one lucky little boy! She is right on track with her puppy socialization and has started engaging in play with her siblings. Watching this litter discover the world together is almost too cute to handle. Like all young puppies, Naira will need a family committed to helping her grow into a well-mannered companion. She'll benefit from positive reinforcement training, ongoing socialization, patience with potty training, and plenty of love as she explores the world. Families should come prepared for all the joys and challenges of raising a young puppy. A typical 8-week-old puppy can only hold their bladder for about two hours, so frequent potty breaks, consistency, and patience will be key to helping Naira succeed. If you're looking for a puppy to grow up with and make part of your family from the very beginning, Naira just might be your perfect match. Submit your application today so you're ready when this sweet little girl is cleared to go home!

She has adjusted well and spends time with us everywhere. She loves the sun and being outside.    Bettie is very food motivated, so treats win her heart. She is eager to try new things and meet new people. When meeting new people, she needs someone who is slow and gets down to her level. She doesn't like loud noises or movements. She is still working on leashes, but likes walks. She loves to run!   It's been a joy creating a space for Bettie’s personality to come out.    About Me: Hello! My name is Bettie, my foster family calls me Bettie boop. I am the sweetest little girl. I'm gentle, kind, and curious. I'm still a puppy, so I have some energy, but only after I warm up to my environment. I have a background that makes me a little skittish around loud noises and movements. Therefore I need someone who is patient and kind, but once I'm comfortable, I'll be the best walking, snuggling or any adventure loving pup! I do well with other dogs in the house, but can also be by myself.    I love cuddles, especially on blankets and beds. I am house trained, and crate trained. I like playing, but only when I'm ready. I eat separately from my foster brothers, but I'm a good eater! I'm trying so many new things like couches and beds!     My foster parents are my favorite. They give me treats and pets whenever I ask. I love to run and snuggle. I spend my days soaking in the sun and playing. My one eye doesn't hold me back from experiencing all these new things and can't wait to find my forever home.   August 23, 2026, 7:21 pm

This little shadow loves being close to her people and will happily follow you from room to room. Her favorite place to be is outside, where she can stretch out in the grass, soak up the sunshine, and chase butterflies around the yard. Reba is a smart girl who is already learning commands such as “no,” “sit,” “inside,” and “lay down.” She is doing wonderfully with potty training and is sleeping through the night in her kennel with only minimal potty breaks. She’s also a great listener and is eager to learn. Like many young puppies, she is still working on keeping all four paws on the ground, walking politely on a leash, and not nipping when she gets overly excited. When she’s not exploring the backyard, Reba enjoys chewing on bones, playing tug-of-war, munching on treats, and carrying around stuffed animals—especially if they happen to belong to the kids! She absolutely adores her foster dog sibling and spends much of her time running alongside her, roughhousing, and following her wherever she goes. Reba is currently living in a home with two young children, a resident dog, and a cat, and she has access to a large fenced backyard where she loves to wander and play. Because she is still learning boundaries and can get excited, she would likely do best with a family with older children who can help reinforce her training and continue building her confidence. If you’re looking for a loyal, playful, and outdoorsy companion who will be your constant sidekick, Reba may be the perfect addition to your family!   About Me:  Hi! My name is Reba.  I’m a fun, energetic girl who loves being with my people. Since I was found as a stray, I spent much of my early life outdoors, so it’s still my favorite place to be. You’ll usually find me soaking up the sunshine, running around the yard with my foster sister, chasing butterflies, or happily chewing on a bone. One of my favorite things to do is sit at my foster parents’ feet and look up at them. They give the best pets, tell me what a “good girl” I am, and make me feel so loved. I’m a smart pup and have learned that when I hear “sit” or “kennel up,” I usually earn a tasty treat. I’m learning new things every day and can’t wait to keep showing everyone what a good girl I can be. I’m so excited to find my forever family—one that will love me as much as I’ll love them. I can’t wait to meet you!   August 23, 2026, 7:21 pm
