Meet Brewie! This sweet boy is, quite frankly, a lovable doofus — the kind of happy hound who’ll make you laugh every single day. Brewie is a Treeing Walker Coonhound mix who’s great with other dogs and loves all people. He lives in a foster home with other pups and spends his days chasing them around the yard, playing with toys, and showing off his goofy grin. When he’s inside, Brewie proudly takes on the role of floor inspector — always on the lookout for stray crumbs. Have kids? Adopt Brewie and your floors will stay spotless! He’s also a big fan of treats, toys, and adventures. Whether it’s hiking, kayaking, or just going for a car ride, Brewie’s always ready to tag along. Like any good hound, he loves to follow his nose and has a beautiful singing voice he uses to let you know when it’s time to go outside or grab a snack. He may not have the brains of a scholar, but he makes up for it with his sweet, goofy, and endlessly charming personality. If you’re looking for a fun-loving, social, and affectionate companion who’ll make every day brighter, Brewie is your guy! All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home. We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs. We do not have a shelter location and will not arrange a meeting without an approved application. We strive to make sure the bios provided for our dogs are complete and accurate; we do understand that mistakes happen, however, so if you absolutely cannot find the answer to your question in the dog's bio, you can contact us for more information. We require a home visit for each dog we adopt out, so we adopt within a 2 hour radius of Dayton, OH. Please note that Archie will not be available for adoption until late November. His neuter is scheduled for November 18 however we will speak with anpproved Adopter’s beforehand. Archie is a one year-old basset hound. He is a sweet boy who does great with other dogs and loves people. He his house trained, his foster family has not left him in a crate as he has done fine without it. He will need a home with a fenced in yard. Older children only please. Preferred at 10 and up. Archie has some guarding issues so he will need a family who is willing to continue his training and let him know what is expected of him. He is a young boy so he will learn quickly under the proper guidance! He is being fostered near Dayton Ohio. He is currently on some antibiotics which is preventing him from being neutered until later in the month. If you are interested in Archie please fill out the application on our website, and once approved email us with the password that will be given to you by one of our volunteers who processes your application. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Please contact Sally (Ohbassetrescue@yahoo.com) for more information about this pet.Miss Percy Sue Pickles came to OBHR under the name Persimmon but we have since changed that to something more fun and fitting!  Percy came to OBHR a HOT MESS!! She had no hair on her chest, bottom, hoo hoo, back legs and very sparse on her back. Her eyes were cloudy and goopy. She was obviously used to crank out puppies over the years and probably was dumped. Thank goodness she was picked up by a good hearted person who took her to the shelter who then contacted us. Percy Sue Pickles' foster family has been taking fantastic care of her and a lot of her hair is coming back in! She is still pretty bald on the booty and legs, but things are filling in! She has some new eye meds and they are also clearing up. We are not sure she can see 100% but thank goodness she has that hound dog nose! Percy is guessed to be a bea-bull...beagle bulldog and about 8 years old. She is a sweet girl who would love a family of her own. She is spayed, chipped and up to date on all shots, but it still continuing with her meds for her eyes and skin. She is a little gal at 36 pounds of spunk!   She is good with other dogs, chickens, ducks, lizards.....doing fantastic in her foster home! She is a spunky little girl who may take a few days to warm up to you but she will eventually pay you back with love over and over!  She is available for adoption now if she can go to a home close enough to our Columbus vet so they can continue to check her progress for a few more weeks.  If you are interested in Percy Sue Pickles, please fill out the online application at ohiobassetrescue.com. Spot is a 2 and a half year old beagle basset mix hoping Santa brings him a new home for the holidays! He is about 26 pounds and up to date on shots and neutered. Spot is your typical beagle basset who is high energy and has a tendency to grab his own treats off the counters! He is house trained and crate trained and sleeps in his crate at night. He was relinquished to OBHR because he was one of 4 high energy dogs in the house and it was too much to handle. Basically because he is a hound dog! So if you are familiar with hounds he will fit right into your family! He will need a home with a fenced in yard and someone who can keep him active and exercised! He loves to play with his toys and snuggle, go for hikes and loves ice cubes and baby carrots!
