He might be a little shy when you first meet him, but don’t let that fool you—once he realizes you’re there to give him all the pets, he quickly blossoms into your most loyal best friend. This sweet boy just needs a moment to warm up, and then his silly, playful side shines through. Whether he’s making you laugh with his goofy antics or leaning in for affection, Cooper knows how to win hearts. He absolutely loves attention and will happily stick by your side once he feels comfortable. Cooper is also a huge fan of couch time. After some fun and play, he’s more than ready to curl up next to you, soak in the pets, and enjoy a cozy night in. He’s the perfect mix of playful and laid-back, making him an ideal companion for both adventures and relaxing evenings at home. George is a majestic 2-year old male Treeing Walker Coonhound who was brought to the HSOV on March 25, 2026 by a Good Samaritan who found him on Cats Creek Road in the Lowell Ohio area. George was accompanied by another male Treeing Walker Coonhound (Cosmo) who is most likely his brother. George was wearing a collar but, unfortunately, there was neither an id tag nor a dog tag on his collar ... And neither of the boys were microchipped. This magnificent boy has a white/black/brown short smooth coat, rather long legs, a long tail, and a beautiful symmetrically-marked Coonhound face with classic features including extra-large floppy ears which frame his beautiful face. George is a good conversationalist who is always willing to challenge other dogs to a barking contest. His brother Cosmo is usually the more quiet one but he also has a fine melodious Coonhound voice (smile). These pictures of George were taken on the afternoon of March 28th when HSOV Kennel Tech Emily Beaver accompanied him outdoors for his photo session. George gave us several professional poses as though he were competing in a Westminster Dog Show and also demonstrated his mischievous stances when he noticed one of our shelter mascot kitties in the distance. Neither George nor Cosmo accept cats in their friendship circles and do NOT get along with felines. George weighs approximately 70 lbs and is very strong/enthusiastic on a leash. In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, George was held for the mandatory three-day stray hold so that his family would have an opportunity to reclaim him with proof of ownership. Surprisingly nobody called or came look for George (or Cosmo), so they are technically available for adoption. Both George and Cosmo will be neutered before being officially adopted. They could be fostered-to-adopt while they are awaiting their neuter procedures with an approved HSOV foster/adoption application.

Cosmo is a handsome 2-year old male Treeing Walker Coonhound who was brought to the HSOV on March 25, 2026 by a Good Samaritan who found him on Cats Creek Road in the Lowell Ohio area. Cosmo was accompanied by another male Treeing Walker Coonhound (George) who is most likely his brother. George was wearing a collar but, unfortunately, there was neither an id tag nor a dog tag on his collar ... And neither of the boys were microchipped. This beautiful boy has a white/black/tan short smooth coat, rather long legs, a long tail, and a classic symmetrically-marked tan/white Coonhound face with dark brown eyes, a black button nose, a slender muzzle, and extra-large floppy ears. The left side of Cosmos' body is entirely white and the right side is tricolored ... So depending upon which side you are viewing Cosmo from, he appears to be two different dogs! Cosmo appears to be the more quiet of the pair, but he also has a fine melodious Coonhound voice which he sometimes displays. On the other hand (uh.. paw), his brother George is a good conversationalist who is always willing to challenge other dogs to a barking contest. These pictures of Cosmo were taken on the afternoon of March 28th when HSOV Kennel Tech Emily Beaver accompanied him outdoors for his photo session. Cosmo posed like a 'pro' in nearly all of his glamour pictures and seemed to enjoy the paparazzi experience. Neither Cosmo nor George accept cats in their friendship circles and do NOT get along with felines. Cosmo weighs approximately 65 lbs and is a little better with his walking-on-a-leash skills (and as energetic). In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Cosmowas held for the mandatory three-day stray hold so that his family would have an opportunity to reclaim him with proof of ownership. Surprisingly nobody called or came look for Cosmo (or George), so they are technically available for adoption. Both Cosmo and George will be neutered before being officially adopted. Copper is a very loving Treeing Walking Coonhound that was found abandoned and starving in a very remote area. He was taken to a vet to find that he had been shot multiple times with a pellet gun. Copper has been treated, neutered and vaccinated. He is great with most dogs and loves people. He will chase cats. Copper is house trained and friendly in nature. Copper successfully completed the treatment for heartworms and got a clean bill of health from the vet. He is released for activity restrictions and absolutely loves being able to play and run again! Copper would love a fenced backyard to run around and sniff around - he has quite the sniffer on him! Copper may be best suited for a family with children over 10 years old because he could knock over smaller children in his excitement. Copper is neutered and up to date on vaccines. Story

Copper is a good-looking 4-year old male Treeing Walker Coonhound who was brought to HSOV on January 11, 2026 by a Good Samaritan who found him on Twin Bridges Road in the Little Hocking Ohio area. Copper was not wearing a collar, and he was not microchipped. This handsome guy has a white short smooth coat with patch of black on both of his sides, long legs, a long tail, and a beautiful tricolor symmetrically-marked Coonhound face. Copper has cute freckles on his muzzle and magnificent brown velvet ears that just beg to be petted. These photos were taken on January 12, 2026 when HSOV Kennel Tech Emily Beaver accompanied Copper for outdoor pictures and a chance to stretch his long legs and follow his nose. Copper doesn't appear to have been introduced to the 'walking on a leash' concept, but he thoroughly enjoyed his 15-minutes of fame running laps around Emily (smile). Copper weighs 39.2 lbs and could easily gain a few pounds to fill out his slim trim physique. In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Copper was held for the mandatory three-day stray hold so that his family would have an opportunity to reclaim him with proof of ownership. Surprisingly nobody called or came looking for this awesome boy. Copper was neutered on February 23, 2026 and was also given rabies vaccine.
