Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Koda, a 3-year-old Treeing Walker Coonhound who didn’t have the easiest start, and you can see some of his story in the character of his nose and permanent head tilt. But don’t let that fool you—it doesn’t slow him down or affect his happiness one bit! Koda is resilient, joyful, and more than ready for the happy ending he deserves. ❤️ Koda is truly just a really good boy. He is sweet, affectionate, and loves attention. He enjoys the company of other dogs, but he’s also perfectly content to relax and be wonderfully chill. Whether he’s hanging out with his canine friends or soaking up one-on-one love, Koda is happiest when he’s with his people. And, of course, Koda is a hound—which means he comes with a big, beautiful voice! His bark makes an appearance when he gets excited, and it’s just part of his charming hound personality. He also takes to training easily and is eager to learn, making him a wonderful companion for someone who enjoys helping a dog continue to grow and thrive. After all Koda has overcome, he deserves a family who will see what a special boy he is and give him the love, patience, and forever home he’s been waiting for. He has so much love to give, and we know his happily ever after is out there.  Thank you for checking out our wonderful orphans. If you would like to find out more please email or call Diane at...diane@ulpr.org or 870-577-3744.   Please email us at  diane@ulpr.org  and request an application.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 19, 2026, 1:08 am

**WE ARE CURRENTLY DOING ADOPTIONS BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. YOU MUST CALL TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING. PLEASE LEAVE US A VOICEMAIL IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO REACH US. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE AND UNDERSTANDING.- CCDP STAFF** Hi there. My name is Autumn. I'm about 2 1/2 years old and I weigh about 52 lbs. I was dropped off here at the pound after hours, so my entire back story is unknown, but the pound was able to find out that I was originally adopted from Hancock County Animal Shelter. The folks that adopted me had rehomed me about 6 months ago, so from there, it's hard to say all the places I've been. I'm here now and I am looking for a hound savvy family to join. I am a very sweet girl, but I do have a lot of energy and a lot of drive. I would love to find a family that can work with me on basic manners and have a loving, indoor home. I would probably make a great companion for someone that enjoys pleasure hunting, or I would love something similar that could help me expel my energy and also give me mental stimulation. I am hoping to find a family soon because I REALLY do not do well here in the shelter environment. I have done okay with large dogs, but I would be best for a family without other small pets. I am not likely housebroken, so I would need some work with that as well. If you're looking for a sweet coonie companion to add to your family, please consider adopting me/ Our adoption fee is $152. We accept cash, check or credit/ debit cards for adoption fees. If you pay using a credit or debit card, a convenience fee of 2.39% will also be applied. If paying by check, you will need 2. One Check will be for the dog license, and one will be for your dog's adoption fee, which includes heartworm testing (for dogs 6 months of age old and older), parvo/distemper vaccine, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, 3 days of panacur de-wormer, spay or neuter surgery, microchip, and a current Ohio dog license. We DO offer foster to adopt. (We will NOT accept cash for foster to adopt). We highly recommend you do a foster to adopt with your new dog if you are not 100% sure your new dog is going to work out in your home. Foster to adopt gives you a couple of weeks with the dog to make sure they are a good fit with your family before your payment is processed and the adoption is finalized. ALL DOGS/PUPPIES WILL BE SPAYED OR NEUTERED unless a health issue prohibits the surgery from being performed. Not all dogs posted for adoption are spayed/ neutered yet. If you're driving a long distance to adopt, please verify that the vetting process has been completed and dog you're interested in adopting is still available for adoption. The above mentioned vetting is all included in your adoption fee. The adoption fee and what is included in the adoption fee is NON-NEGOTIABLE. Adoptions MUST be done at the pound and in person as there is paperwork to fill out and an adoption contract that must be signed by the adopter. This means you must be willing to travel to our shelter to adopt. If the dog you're interested in adopting has medical conditions or injuries which require medical treatment, we ask that you help with the medical bills, in addition to their adoption fee if possible so we can continue to help the dogs coming in who need additional vet care. We are a county run shelter, therefore we cannot control our intake or the health or behavior of the dogs that come in to our shelter. Although we try our hardest to place all of our adoptable dogs, there are certain circumstances in which any dog in our care could be euthanized at any time and without further notice (IE: sudden untreatable medical condition or injury, temperament or behavioral problems which may not be apparent when the dog first arrives, etc.), therefore all dogs at our shelter should be considered urgent. We try our absolute hardest to never have to euthanize for space and have not had to do so for many years thanks to the ongoing support from the public and high adoption rates. Please remember; the adoption of a more highly adoptable dog will mean more time for the less adoptable dog in the kennel next to him! Shelter hours are Monday-Friday: 8 am- 4 pm. Saturday, Sunday and holidays: 8 am - 12 pm. Adoptions are always welcome any day of the week/ weekend and on holidays. We are here everyday to care for the dogs and the best way to make our day is to see our dogs go to loving families. There is nobody in the office on Saturday, Sunday or holidays, so therefore, we are unable to answer or return phone calls over the weekend. We are only staffed to take care of the dogs and do adoptions over the weekends/ on holidays. Can't adopt a dog? We would love to have more volunteers who are able to spend time with our dogs! The dogs LOVE going for walks and the socialization and exercise helps make the dogs more adoptable. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE AND UNDERSTANDING.- CCDP STAFF** Hi there. My name is Lucky. I'm about 5 1/2 years old and I weigh about 70 lbs. I was found as a stray in the East Palestine area and I was taken in to the Police Department, then picked up by the pound. I was microchipped and apparently I lived in Florida!! Despite my microchip being updated just a couple of days before I was brought into the pound, the pound has not been able to contact my previous owner, so I am now looking for a new, loving family to join. I am a very sweet boy. I have been great around all of the people I've met. I have met some of the other dogs here and I've done well with them as long as they're nice to me. I don't like being bullied and pushed around, but I'm good with dogs that are social and friendly. I do a great job keeping my kennel clean and I appear to have been a house dog before making my way into the pound. If you're looking for a sweet dog to add to your family, please consider adopting me. Our adoption fee is $152. We accept cash, check or credit/ debit cards for adoption fees. Story
Meet Ducky! This beagle/hound mix is about 4 months old, 26 lbs, and still got some growing to do. He's sweet, playful, and an outdoor enthusiast at heart. Give him a yard to sniff around and a toy to chew and he's living his best life. Ducky does great with other dogs and is already making solid progress on housebreaking and crate training. He's got a lot of puppy left in him and a lot of love to give, just looking for the right family to grow up with. Ducky is outgoing and is possibly aspiring to be a goat (he enjoys climbing on chairs to see everything!). Ducky is neutered, microchipped, and-up-to-date on age appropriate vaccines. His adoption fee is $350. Ready to make Ducky part of your family? Apply today at rescue330.org.
