Three Little Hounds, One Big Second Chance Meet Boo, one of three beautiful purebred Treeing Walker Coonhound puppies that came into rescue after being surrendered by their owner. When they arrived, it was immediately clear that these babies had been dealt a difficult hand very early in life. All three were suffering from rickets affecting their front legs and feet, caused by inadequate nutrition during the critical early stages of their growth. Their little legs and feet had become badly weakened and deformed, making something as simple as walking incredibly difficult. But these babies are fighters—and their story is changing every single day. ❤️ With strict, proper nutrition, carefully selected nutritional supplements, and specially fitted leg braces, their bodies are finally receiving what they needed all along. Their bones are strengthening, their legs are slowly improving, and they are learning what it feels like to move, play, and simply enjoy being puppies. And despite everything they have been through, their spirits have never been broken and they are expected to make a full recovery and grow into strong, healthy dogs.These three are incredibly loving, happy, playful puppies who absolutely adore one another. They love playing together and with the other puppies in their foster home, and they become especially excited when children come around to play. Give them attention, affection, and someone willing to play, and you will quickly see their sweet little hound personalities shine. They are already house trained (with puppy pads) and crate trained, and they are eager to continue learning and experiencing all the wonderful things that come with being part of a family. Their journey isn’t completely finished yet. They need forever homes that understand they are still healing and will remain committed to providing the proper nutrition, care, and follow-up they need while their bones continue to strengthen. One day, those little legs that once made walking so difficult should carry them on adventures, through backyards, and straight into the arms of the families who chose them. They didn’t get the healthy beginning every puppy deserves. Meet sweet Stormy, a beautiful young brindle girl with a joyful spirit, lots of energy, and plenty of love to give!Stormy’s rescue story began during a torrential storm in Tennessee, when she was spotted running through the pouring rain, soaking wet and frightened. Thankfully, a kind person stopped to help and contacted rescue. It was soon discovered that Stormy also had a painful wound on her neck from an embedded collar. Those difficult days are behind her now, and Stormy is ready for the wonderful life she deserves.Stormy absolutely loves people and is always looking for affection and attention. She is a very active young girl, so children over 12 would be the best fit—not because she means any harm, but because her enthusiasm could easily send a smaller child tumbling!She is also great with other dogs and loves heading outside with her canine foster siblings to run, chase, and play. With her very high energy level, an active family that will give her plenty of exercise, playtime, and adventures would be ideal.Stormy walks on leash, but her adopter will want to keep a good hold if a bird or squirrel catches her eye—her instinct is definitely to give chase! She is a great traveler, happily hops in and out of the car, and loves watching the world go by through the windows.At home, Stormy is house trained and will let you know when she needs to go outside. She is also crate trained and goes into her crate without a problem, although long periods of crating aren't a good match for this energetic girl who wants to be out enjoying life.Stormy has already weathered the worst kind of storm. Meet Koda, a 3-year-old Treeing Walker Coonhound who didn’t have the easiest start, and you can see some of his story in the character of his nose and permanent head tilt. But don’t let that fool you—it doesn’t slow him down or affect his happiness one bit! Koda is resilient, joyful, and more than ready for the happy ending he deserves. ❤️ Koda is truly just a really good boy. He is sweet, affectionate, and loves attention. He enjoys the company of other dogs, but he’s also perfectly content to relax and be wonderfully chill. Whether he’s hanging out with his canine friends or soaking up one-on-one love, Koda is happiest when he’s with his people. And, of course, Koda is a hound—which means he comes with a big, beautiful voice! His bark makes an appearance when he gets excited, and it’s just part of his charming hound personality. He also takes to training easily and is eager to learn, making him a wonderful companion for someone who enjoys helping a dog continue to grow and thrive.
