Story
Meet Daisy Mae! Adoption Fee: $449 Includes transport Adoption Application - Copy & Paste https://forms.gle/FmtRtYxQNnemdkdw9 This gorgeous hound is ready to leave her days as a stray behind and start the next chapter of her life with a family of her own. She was found wandering on hunting land and was thankfully taken in by a kind couple who made sure she received all of her veterinary care. Now that she's healthy, spayed, and ready to go, they've asked Paws of Dixie Animal Rescue to help her find the loving forever home she deserves. Around 3 years old and weighing approximately 70 pounds, she's a beautiful, gentle girl with a sweet personality. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs and currently lives happily with canine companions. She also does great with children, making her a wonderful family dog. Because of her prey drive, she would do best in a home without cats. This lovely hound has overcome a difficult beginning and is more than ready to be someone's loyal companion. If you're looking for a faithful friend to share your adventures, your couch, and your heart, she may be the perfect match. Please submit your adoption application today—we can't wait to help this beautiful girl find the forever home she's been waiting for! Story
Meet sweet Stormy, a beautiful young brindle girl with a joyful spirit, lots of energy, and plenty of love to give!Stormy’s rescue story began during a torrential storm in Tennessee, when she was spotted running through the pouring rain, soaking wet and frightened. Thankfully, a kind person stopped to help and contacted rescue. It was soon discovered that Stormy also had a painful wound on her neck from an embedded collar. Those difficult days are behind her now, and Stormy is ready for the wonderful life she deserves.Stormy absolutely loves people and is always looking for affection and attention. She is a very active young girl, so children over 12 would be the best fit—not because she means any harm, but because her enthusiasm could easily send a smaller child tumbling! She is also great with other dogs and loves heading outside with her canine foster siblings to run, chase, and play. With her very high energy level, an active family that will give her plenty of exercise, playtime, and adventures would be ideal.Stormy walks on leash, but her adopter will want to keep a good hold if a bird or squirrel catches her eye—her instinct is definitely to give chase! She is a great traveler, happily hops in and out of the car, and loves watching the world go by through the windows. At home, Stormy is house trained and will let you know when she needs to go outside. She is also crate trained and goes into her crate without a problem, although long periods of crating aren't a good match for this energetic girl who wants to be out enjoying life.Stormy has already weathered the worst kind of storm. Now she just needs and deserves the best kind of ending—a loving, active forever family to call her own.All known information about the animal is listed above. Story
Our handsome Ryder is bursting with charm and charisma! He is a good-natured comedian who has traversed the rescue process like a spirited game of hopscotch in which every stop is a grand opportunity to explore the Universe.  We don’t know Ryder’s history, but if anything bad happened to him, he shook it off in no time. He shows no behavioral evidence of trauma, although he came to us with signs of neglect and malnutrition. We know that he was found as a country stray Animal Control Officers in rural North Carolina. No owner claimed him. Ryder’s bum luck finally improved when our shelter contact transferred him to our care. Due to his stellar temperament and personality, Ryder has become one of the superstars in our big dog playgroup. He loves all the dogs that he has met here! Now, it is time for Ryder to live a life of his own, one where the human-dog ratio is more reasonable. He is so full of life and personality, and at just two years old, he still has a bit of the puppy Mojo going on. Ryder is like a kid in a candy shop, soaking up new experiences with sheer glee. He is a super dog that would do well in any type of environment. Ryder appears to be a Treeing walker Coonhound. He lives up to their lovable reputation. He is a medium sized dog, at a lean weight of 40 pounds. His short, flat, tri-colored coat is easy to groom with minimal shedding. Ryder has a big, goofy personality, and he loves to play. Ryder is a very happy-go-lucky guy, and would be a great addition to an active family with older, dog savvy kids. He is friendly and will gives everyone in the family equal attention. Ryder is not one to play favorites, and he is very stranger friendly.  He could also join an active single or couple, who can provide at least one to two brisk leash walks daily, as well as focussed play time so that Ryder can get the exercise that he needs to get his yayas out.  Ryder has good house manners, and is house trained and crate trained. Adopters should expect to troubleshoot the occasional accident that will inevitably occur during his transition to a new home. He has been neutered, and has received routine vaccinations and health screenings. If you are interested in Ryder, please write to Angelsfrgod@aol.com or call/text Denise at 860-908-9738 for more info.

Story
Our Watson is a mild mannered, good ol’ boy who has shown us a lot of heart. He was surrendered by his pregnant owner, who became strapped for time. Eight years old, Watson found himself in a Connecticut Animal Control Shelter facing euthansia. Our Shelter contact reported that Watson had suffered some abuse from some of the unsavory men in his owner’s life, but his personality is sweet and his spirit has rebounded.  Watson has quickly adjusted to the chaotic rescue process and has become one of our most beloved fosters. He has grown into a proper Hound busybody with his nose in everybody's affairs.  Watson is a fairly calm boy, who can be shy at first stranger meeting, but warms up into a total lovebug. He would thrive in an active adult home, with folks who can commit to a training and excerise regimen.  Watson is in excellent health and is at a lean weight of 55 pounds. He appears to be a Treeing Walker Coonhound, with classic tri-coloring. He has the Scent Hound tendency to "sniff the roses," and likes to slow down occasionally on his daily walks. Watson has good house manners, and is house trained and crate trained. Adopters should expect to troubleshoot the occasional accident that will inevitably occur during his transition to a new home. He has been neutered, and has received routine vaccinations and health screenings. If you are interested in Watson, please write to Angelsfrgod@aol.com or call or text Denise at 860-908-9738 for more info.

Story
Add a little spice to your life with this active young hound boy! Mustard is engaging and friendly; he's very gentle when being petted but can be enthusiastic and jumpy when stimulated by new people and dogs. Dogs? He loves them all, big and small. He's going to be a great companion and would probably do best with older children. Mustard came to us from a rural shelter in Murray County, Geogia. He's about 2 yrs old and weighs about 55 lbs. Mustard will arrive in late July. If you’d like to apply to adopt, please submit an application using the link below.
