Story
Michigan is a 2-year old boy that came to us in August. He's coming out of his shell and learning about this big beautiful world! Here's what his foster has to say about him: "Michigan is a sweet shy guy that grows more curious by the day! He loves spending time outside and sitting in a sunny spot. He’s a brave boy that is starting to get used to couch snuggles and chin scratches. Michigan prefers the company of other dogs to show him how to be comfortable. With a gentle leader head collar, he does great on a leash and is an amazing running partner! He’s been able to run 3 miles with no trouble and would be the best training buddy." Michigan must go to a home with another dog to help him feel comfortable in his new place!

Story
Dove was turned in to a rural shelter with her tracking collar still on. The staff were so excited to be ab le to reunite her with her owner, but were so disappointed when the owner came only to retrieve the collar. He didn't want Dove because he said she couldn't keep up with the rest of the pack. This story broke sweet Dove's foster mom's heart, and the rescue pulled this gentle soul. Dove loves sleeping in her crate and travels well. She can be a bit picky about her food, but loves canned dog food and Pup Cups! She does have a wonky front ankle, but it does not seem to bother her, and the vet agrees it best to leave it be. We don't know if it was due to a birth defect or malnutrition. Dove loves people of all ages and all dogs. She seems to not mind cats, but given her hunting background, she has not been tested with cats running by her! She should be able to adjust to just about any home environment, but does need space to run! WE ONLY ADOPT LOCALLY WITHIN A 2 HOUR RADIUS OF THE TRICOUNTY AREA. ***Exceptions may be made for seniors or hard to place dogs. If the animal is under the age of 3 years old or has health issues, a vet reference is required which means you must own a pet or have owned a pet in your name. Adoption fee of $340 covers all vetting including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip heartworm test and treatment if needed and any other medical that may be required while in rescue. We only do adoptions on Saturday and not all animals are able to attend so if you would like to see a specific animal please let us know so that we can make arrangements for it to be present at the event. Event locations do vary so please check the homepage to find out where we will be this week. Please do not ask us to reduce adoption fees since all fees help us to cover medical expenses for all of our animals, some of which can be very expensive. Saving lives is not cheap so thank you for your understanding and helping us save as many as possible. Please email lowcountryanimalrescue@ymail.com for an application.

Story
Walter was found as a stray and after months of searching for an owner, no luck. He's a scared boy that is making improvements every day. He loves playing with his foster family's dog and has found a passion for stealing socks and hiding them in his special place! He is new to the rescue and we will update his bio once we learn more about him. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please fill out an application.  We do allow out of state adoptions and any transport costs are at the expense of the adopter.  If you have further questions about this dog, please email us at ccradopt@gmail.com and someone will be in touch as soon as possible. Please note we are unable to hold dogs for adopters as this ties up valuable foster homes. Please understand that we are an all volunteer group and we have jobs outside of this organization.  We do our best to provide quick responses but occasionally they are a little slower.  If you do not receive a response in 48 hours, please resend to make sure it's received. ##2355172##

Story
Meet our adoptable dog, Boomer! Boomer is a 3 year old Foxhound/Tree Walker Coonhound. He is about 57lbs. Sweet Boomer has never know what it’s like to get to be a regular dog, he was used strictly as a hunting dog and when not on a hunt he lived his life in a cage. Since being in the rescue he has started learning how to be a loving pet! He’s learning how to play and show affection for people and has just been a good boy all around. What his fosters say about him: He loves cuddling on the couch and going for walks. He does good with most dogs, just needs a calm introduction. He’s okay with cats but would NOT recommend a home with them. He loves tug of war, he also likes to play ball but is a little confused about the concept of it. In big settings he can be a little nervous. He is a very sweet boy who needs someone who is willing to be patient and help him learn the ropes of being a loving pet. Boomer is fully vetted, neutered, and microchipped. Please consider giving this sweet boy his forever home!

These pups are in Walterboro, South Carolina too!
