Story
If you are looking for a loyal outdoor companion with a heart of gold, say hello to Kahlua—an 8-year-old Treewalker Coonhound mix who defines “good ole’ boy” in the best possible way. Around 60 pounds of love and sweetness, Kahlua lives for sunshine, breezes, rustling leaves, and long, thoughtful walks. He’s the kind of dog who doesn’t rush through life—he notices everything, appreciates the little things, and reminds you to slow down and enjoy the moment. Kahlua has impeccable manners. Need to tie your shoe? He’ll stop and wait. Collar slips off? He’ll walk right over so you can fix it. He listens beautifully and truly wants to please his person. He also has a fun side—he loves squeaky toys, playing fetch (sharing the ball is a work in progress!), giving kisses, and being tucked in under cozy blankets like the pampered hound he is.  This boy is also a lake and boat enthusiast—a true water bug who will happily join you for every lakeside adventure. He grew up with other dogs and prefers being the “big guy,” doing well with respectful smaller dogs or calmer companions. Solo walks? He’s relaxed and steady. With bigger, energetic dogs? He may pull a bit in excitement. Kahlua loves kids who treat him kindly and is friendly toward cats, even though he didn’t share a home with them before. Above all else, Kahlua is drawn to people who make him feel loved—give him attention and he’ll give you his whole heart. He does get springtime seasonal allergies, so starting Apoquel in February or early March keeps him feeling his best. It’s a simple bit of care for a dog who gives so much sweetness in return. Kahlua’s former mama adored him deeply but faced life changes that made caring for him impossible. Now he’s ready for a forever home where he can spend his years surrounded by stability, love, comfort, and a family who appreciates everything he has to offer. Kahlua is ready to be someone’s best friend. If you want a loyal companion with an old soul and endless love to share, come meet this wonderful boy.  Please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com if you are interested in giving this boy the years of his life as your best sidekick ever   ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED. Story
Goofy Gus was hanging out in a shelter just north of Nashville, where his chances were looking a bit slim. He is now fully embracing cozy house life at his foster's house in Nashville, where he gets to sing along with all the other musicians in town. He is a big Cadillac of a coonhound, weighting in around 70 lbs.. A large, dopey, goofy boy, he has the BEST puppy dog sad eyes and face, but he quickly waggles his whole body and gives his humans grunts, smiles, and kisses. He is literally the cuddliest coonhound we have ever been around.... He walks GREAT on a leash and would love to explore both city and woods on leash with you. Gus also loves to lay around in the sun and shade, but would love an active family who has a large 6 ft fenced in yard. Please email jennyfiddle@yahoo.com and introduce yourself- please tell us about your household and how you plan to accommodate Gus into your household. We will forward you an application link.

Story
**New Year, New Me — Spot’s 2025 Pupdate!** Hi friends! I’m **Spot**, (AKA Boone) ringing in the New Year with a tail wag and a fresh pupdate I settled into my new place *fast*—like, faster-than-you-can-open-a-treat-bag fast. My food giver works from home, which is perfect because I’m not a fan of alone time (not even a little). On the rare times he heads out, I’ve started a new anxiety medicine and it’s helping me feel much more at ease. New year, calmer vibes Here’s how I’m spending my days: Daily sniffari patrols of the neighborhood (especially *my* very important log) Competitive-level squeaky ball destruction Professional couch lounging, especially when it’s rainyBig milestone to celebrate: **zero indoor accidents**. Not once. A New Year miracle if there ever was one Social updates: I’ve been introduced to a couple of dogs and did well! We’ve learned that slow, on-leash walks are the key—and sometimes it takes two tries. With people, I’m a bit timid at first, but I warm up quickly and then I’m all about the attention.Quick stats for the record: Around **10 months old** **35 pounds** of New Year’s joyAll in all, life is feeling pretty great, and I’m excited to see what 2025 brings. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got a couch to guard and a squeaky ball that absolutely will not defeat itself. Love,**Spot** Apply online: https://www.russellrescuetn.com/adoption-applicationAlready approved? Email: Russellrescuetn@gmail.com Adoption fee: **$300** — includes vaccines, spay/neuter, heartworm test, microchip, ID collar, leash, and harness  December 27, 2025, 1:01 am

Story
**All I Want for Christmas Is… a Home!** Meet **Ted**, a 10-month-old Basset Hound/Lab mix and about **32 pounds of pure holiday cheer**! With his floppy ears, soulful eyes, and heart full of love, Ted is ready to jingle his way right into your life.Ted is a **super sweet, people-loving guy** who thrives on cuddles, gentle playtime, and being near his favorite humans. He’s a bit shy at first with other dogs-think *“silent night”* vibes—but once he warms up, his personality shines brighter than Christmas lights He’s **house trained**, playful, and would do best with either being your one-and-only pup or with calm, one-on-one dog friendships while he builds confidence. Ted is the kind of dog who will happily help you wrap presents (by supervising), nap by the tree, and be your loyal winter snuggle buddy This Christmas, give Ted what he’s been wishing for—a **forever home** filled with love, patience, and plenty of belly rubs.
