Story
Willa and Watson (siblings) came from the Brookhaven pound. We saw them on Face Book. The Brookhaven pound was going to put these puppies down because they were so shy. They couldn’t find a rescue group to take them. We decided to help them. They are super sweet, but they are very shy. Walter is not as shy as Willa. They feel very comfortable in their environment, but when taken to the vet, they do get nervous. They do respond to love, but they need somebody that will spend time with them. Because we are so overcrowded, they have never had an opportunity to live in the house. They were heavily bonded at the foster’s house, and they loved to play together. The foster did not spend any time with them, but the children played with them some in the fenced in area. They play well with other dogs, but they have never been around cats. Since they have been at Blue Ribbon Kennels, they have been in separate kennels for the past 13 months. They both need a special home with somebody that will spend a lot of time loving them, giving them a lot of attention and being patient with them. Plese help Willa, and maybe even consider adopting both of them! Willa and Watson are in Mississippi. Rescue Riders is a very reliable pet transport and will transport Willa to her new home. This is included in the adoption fee

Story
Spaghetti is nothing short of amazing. She has been 100% house trained, well-mannered and so sweet. Her little tail will get to wagging as soon as she knows she's getting some love, and you can see her eyes light up when she gets snuggles! She gets along well with some other dogs but would prefer a calm household free of small children. Loud noises and fast movements can be scary for her. If you're looking for a calm companion come meet Loo Loo today!

⭐𝐀𝐃𝐎𝐏𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐅𝐄𝐄𝐒 𝐒𝐏𝐎𝐍𝐒𝐎𝐑𝐄𝐃⭐ PAUL NEEDS A HOME IMMEDIATELY! Paul Rudd: charming, resilient and full of adventurous spirit. If you're looking for an adventure buddy with a sweet soul, look no further. Paul has been with the shelter since FEBRUARY of 2024 and was found in rough shape. Skin conditions, split tail, malnourished - this guy was not having a good time. He's been healed up, of course, and despite his rough start, Paul is as friendly as one could hope for! He LOVES to be outside to stretch those long, LONG legs and is quite a sight to see when he's running. He also loves to give dog hugs by resting his head on your shoulder and doing THE LEEEEEAN. He's such a sweet boy! The nitty gritty: Paul IS good with medium to large-sized dogs, but he's a bit leery with men and can be protective of his "person." NO CATS! Paul has a heart of gold and needs a loving home ASAP! We hope it could be you! updated 2/05/25

Story
Meet Hermey – A Survivor with a Heart of Gold Hermey has every reason not to trust humans, yet he chooses love and kindness. This gentle soul came into our care after Fluvanna SPCA discovered he had survived an old ballistic injury—he had been shot in the neck and left to suffer. On top of that, he was severely malnourished, fighting for survival on his own. Despite everything he’s been through, Hermey has held onto his sweet and forgiving nature. Today, Hermey is stable and lives a normal life with just a few adjustments. Due to his past injury, he cannot wear collars around his neck and instead uses a harness for walks. But don’t let his history fool you—Hermey is just as ready for adventure and companionship as any other pup. He’s a bit nervous in new situations and may take a moment to warm up to new people, but once he does, he’s the most affectionate snuggle bug you’ll ever meet. Hermey enjoys the company of other dogs, but he’d do best with another gentle companion. He hasn’t been officially cat-tested, but his foster does have chickens, so there’s potential for a home with cats. More than anything, Hermey deserves a family who will show him the love and security he never had before. He’s been through so much—now it’s time for his happily ever after. Could you be the one to give Hermey the safe and loving home he deserves?
