Meet the new guy, Whiskey Sunrise! This treeing walker coonhound is like a shot of southern whiskey 🥃 - rough around the edges but with a heart of gold ❤️. He's still learning the ropes and has never lived in a house, but he's got a big personality and loves being adored. He is only around a year old and loves playing with other dogs and is learning that life is great! Augusta Dog Adoptions is a 501c3, foster-based rescue. We take applications online and schedule adoptions in Waynesboro, VA. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries. Hello! Meet Lincoln Lincoln is a handsome treeing walker hound, 2.5 y old. He isn't interested in hunting and looking for a new home. He is seeking an adoptive or foster home. Lincoln would be best suited as the only dog; he can be protective of his food and space with other dogs. He's lived outdoors and would need some training in the house, but he's sweet and food-motivated. Also included in the adoption are 30 days of Pet First Pet Insurance, a new lead and collar, and an adoption kit. Tracker is a very sweet and mellow boy. He is new to the shelter and a wonderful hound. Tracker weighs approx. 48 lbs. and is gaining weight. Tracker is not a hunting dog, he much prefers to be a family companion. Tracker is ready for a home all his own. NOTE: all animals adopted are taken straight to a local veterinarian for spay/neuter. We do adopt out of area providing adopter is will to make more than one trip. All Kittens and puppies must weigh 2 lbs. for surgery and there are a limited number of veterinarians in our area that will do a pediatric spay/neuter. please note the Rockbridge Spca does not have emotional support animals or service animals. we do not adopt to college students, however, they are welcome to volunteer.
