Story
Tansy is looking for a foster-to-adopt home since she`s heartworm positive but is nearing the end of her treatment! Tansy is a very sweet girl and even gives hugs. She loves to cuddle and be pet by her friends she has meet at the shelter. She enjoys going on sniffy walks and she loves a job for her nose. She loves her stuffies and treats as well. She`s very food-motivated and picks up on new commands quickly! Tansy is sometimes scared of unfamiliar people and seems to prefer young adults. She has your typical hound howl so apartment living may not be the best for this vocal lady. Tansy keeps her kennel clean through out the day but does have accidents at night when unattended. We think with some positive reinforcement and patience she would learn where it is appropriate to go potty. Tansy will need to be in a home without children. At this time we are seeking a foster home or foster-to-adopt home for Tansy to recover while she receives medical treatment. She will need to be kept separate from other dogs at this time or be the only dog in the home due to her heartworm diagnosis. What fostering involves: • Providing a quiet, low-activity environment • Helping keep them calm during recovery • Lots of love and encouragement • We cover medical treatment and support! Please note:- Our website (www.neenahanimalshelter.org) is updated in real time, so we are accepting applications for all animals that are currently listed.-Applications can be downloaded from our website. (http://neenahanimalshelter.org/how-to-adopt.html)- Our shelter has open visiting hours for cats, however a pre-approved application is needed prior to an adoption. Appointments may be scheduled with an approved application as well, otherwise we may not be able to accommodate same day adoptions.- Approved applications are required prior to meeting our dogs in foster homes. Please contact the shelter to discuss meeting dogs prior to arrival.

Story
Meet Elephant: The gentlest giant with the biggest heart! Yes, you read that right—this handsome boy is named Elephant! And just like his namesake, he is incredibly loyal, wise beyond his years, and a total gentle soul. You might notice in his photos that Elephant’s eyes look a little droopy or irritated. That’s because he has a common condition called entropion, where his eyelashes roll inward. But don`t worry—the shelter is taking care of everything! Elephant will be getting a quick, routine surgery very soon to fix his eyelids. Once he’s healed, he’ll be seeing the world clearly and comfortably for the first time in a long time.Elephant is looking for a forever family who will pamper him through his brief recovery period (think: lots of treats and a very stylish cone of shame). In return, he promises to give you a lifetime of devotion, leaning his big body against your legs for scratches, and being the best companion you could ever ask for.Elephant is neutered and has received core vaccinations (bordetella, canine distemper, rabies), flea + tick preventative, has been dewormed, and is microchipped. If you are interested in adopting Elephant, reach out to us at 920-733-1717 or adopt@foxvalleypets.org, or feel free to take a peek during our open hours!
