Story
Charlotte is a 6½-year-old black and white tuxedo cat who has been with me for her entire life. I bottle fed her. She is spayed, fully up to date on vaccinations, front-declawed, and healthy. She has always been an indoor cat, but enjoys spending supervised time in the backyard and does not try to wander or escape. Charlotte is very affectionate and loving once she feels safe and bonded. She enjoys being brushed, relaxing in quiet spaces, and spending time with her person. She is calm, observant, and loyal to those she trusts. She is happiest in calm, predictable environments and prefers to take her time warming up to new people. She would do best in a quiet, low-traffic home with a patient adopter who understands that some cats need time and consistency to feel secure. In the right setting, she forms a strong and loyal bond.

Story
Coco is the sweetest cuddlebug with her humans. She wants to be with you or on you (if you are still, she is right there). Coco will talk to you until you figure out what she wants which is usually soft food. She was a stray before we found her at the humane society so it took her a while to realize she would always be fed. In the past, her bottom jaw was injured so it healed a little crooked but she has no trouble eating dry food. Coco needs help keeping her front nails trimmed and will happily let you do it. Unfortunately, she does not like our other cat and continues to hunt her. Coco would make an excellent only pet for someone who loves cuddles and love.

Story
Our next events to meet our pets:  Saturday October 25, 2025 at Half Price Books in Richardson, Texas from 1-3PM 100 S Central Expy, Richardson, TX 75080   Meet Enoki, one of our little Mushrooms! This sweet kitten is ready to find her forever home. She love snuggling and playing and would thrive in a variety of homes!  Please note: We don’t DNA test our kittens, but we think Enoki looks like she could be a Maine coon-type mix. She's likely a domestic long hair mix, but "Maine coon" has become synonymous with long haired cats. Most cats in the US are made up of a variety of different breeds, and we think Enoki falls into that category as well. Either way, we know she’s 100% cute!  Enoki is too young to be eligible for a full adoption. However, he is eligible for our Foster-to-Adopt program!  Foster-to-Adopt Program Details We are an all-volunteer, foster-based, non-profit organization We don’t have a physical location; all cats and kittens live in foster homes until they are formally adopted. Our foster-to-adopt program allows us to match cats and kittens with their forever family before they’re eligible for adoption. Eligible cats and kittens are placed in a foster’s home with the intention of adoption after required medical care is completed. Foster-to-Adopt foster parents are required to schedule and bring their cats(s) and/or kitten(s) to veterinary appointments at the Animal Medical Center of Richardson as needed.  Foster-to-adopters must meet all of the eligibility requirements RHS has for adopters.  Cats and kittens eligible for our foster-to-adopt program must pay a $50 non-refundable deposit at time of drop-off that will be deducted from the animal’s adoption fee of $135.  Our Adoption Process: Meet the Adoption Criteria. Before you do anything else, make sure you meet our adoption criteria. You must be at least 21 years old. You must live within a 60-mile radius of Richardson, Texas. You must share veterinary records for all pets currently in your home and all pets owned in the last five years. All pets in the home must be spayed or neutered. If you rent your home, you must provide verification that pets are allowed on the property. You must be willing to be interviewed by an adoption counselor and you must undergo an in person or virtual home visit from an RHS representative. Complete Application.  https://www.richardsonhumanesociety.org/adopt/ Phone Interview/Vet Check. Compatible applicants will be forwarded to a counselor who will contact the applicant for a phone interview. We also get a reference from your vet, if applicable. Home Visit. If all the steps above are completed satisfactorily, we will set up a visit where you can meet the pet you are interested in. We will try to include the foster parent so you can learn more about how the pet is in a home environment. Due to COVID, we may ask you to send a video of your yard and the pet's expected living space. Complete Adoption. If all feel it is a good match, we will schedule the adoption at your home or an off-site location. Our next events to meet our pets:  Saturday September 27, 2025 from 1:30-3:30PM  at Take Me Home Pet Rescue 580 W Arapaho Rd Suite 433, Richardson, TX 75080 Saturday October 4, 2025 from 1-3PM at Petco in Plano 801F W 15th St, Plano, TX 75075   Marie Curie is the only girl in the ‘science babies’ litter and she’s as brilliant on the outside as she is on the inside! She’s a stunning torbie (mix of tortoiseshell and tabby) and an experiment of beautiful colors! Like her namesake, Marie is independent and happy keeping herself occupied. She’s playful, but less adventurous than her brothers and is happiest snuggling and making biscuits on you or a soft blanket. Marie has two siblings (Atom and Bond) and could be happy on her own or with a friend. Marie’s formula is 3 parts love and 2 parts independence. If you are looking for a balance of affection and independence, Marie could be the girl for you!    Marie Curie is too young to be eligible for a full adoption. Story
Introducing Plumpkin (yes, PLUMPkin... not pumpkin). 😻 This incredibly sweet little guy is ready to meet his forever family. Plumpkin was the runt of his litter, and he was brought to me when he was 11 wks old because still very small. The rest of his littermates had all been adopted, but this little guy was lagging behind. Well, just look at him now!!! He's 6 mos old now & he's transformed into a gloriously beautiful orange fluffernutter. He's still small for his age, but he's healthy and his fur is silky smooth. And those big beautiful eyes!!! 😻 You may not be able to tell from these pics, but Plumpkin has quite an overbite and most of his teeth never developed. We don't know why he has so few teeth, but his gummy grin sure is cute!! He kinda looks like a little old man. Luckily he has ZERO problems eating!! He LOVES eating too. Scroll to the end to check out the video of him eating (make sure volume is up)!! He makes the most adorable high pitched happy sounding purrs while he eats. This is every time he eats his wet food. Plumpkin is a very special little guy. He's so precious and wonderful. He's very playful & friendly. He loves people and getting attention from his people. If you would like to meet him, please submit an adoption application through our website: www.feralfriends.org
