Story
We are very excited to introduce our FSDA family to the NEW AND IMPROVED Brady!! 😍😍😍
You may remember back in June we shared our Weimie boy Brady for the first time. Brady had been taken to his family’s veterinarian to be euthanized after a scuffle another dog, and we are so thankful the doctor reached out after finding that he did not meet the criteria for a typical behavioral euthanasia. 🥹 We jumped at the opportunity to help him, and while we’d been warned that he was large, we were SHOCKED at just how large - Brady was 135lbs!! 🤯
After getting to know Brady, we realized that he needed a little extra help. He was very insecure, and he’d spent his life getting whatever he wanted and doing whatever he wanted without being told no, including resource guarding toys and bones. With his extreme size and strength, we knew the best way to ensure Brady’s long-term success was to enroll him in a board and train program with our best friends at FDF Canine Services 🙌🏽🐾. Brady has spent the last month in school, and WOW what a difference a month can make! Brady has made so much progress - both behaviorally and physically. He is down 25 pounds!!! He has learned to be more stable, thoughtful, and well-rounded, and we are seeing a much better version of the big guy we met when he first entered rescue. We knew he could be a great dog with the right help, and we are SO proud of him!
Brady has officially graduated from school 🎓and the next step in his journey is to find his forever family! What we want for Brady looks something like this:
💙Adult only home
💙A quieter, more relaxed environment
💙Weimaraner or other similar breed experience
💙Other dogs are fine as long as proper introductions are made and the adopter commits to continuing proper management with resources
💙NO CATS 🐱🚫
Brady’s future family must be committed to continuing to work on the skills that he has learned in his training 💪. Training doesn’t end when the program ends, it is a lifelong commitment. Structure, consistency, patience, and continuing to work on the skills he has learned will be crucial to helping Brady continue to succeed and be the happy boy he now is. Our friends at FDF Canine Services have committed to working with Brady’s future family with in-person or virtual lessons (depending on the adopter’s location). We want his new family to feel confident and equipped to help Brady settle into his new life. 💙💙
Brady is a big guy with an even bigger personality, and everyone who meets him absolutely adores him! 😍. He has worked SO hard and has made SO much progress, and now we’re looking for the right person who will see the incredible dog he can be and give him the structure, patience, and commitment he deserves. Brady doesn’t need just any home, he needs the RIGHT home. And we know that home is out there!
Brady is five years old, neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines. He is here with us at Camp FSDA in Parrish, Florida and his adoption fee is $400. If you think you could be that right home for Brady, please send us an adoption application at the link below, or email us at info@flsportingdogalliance.org for more info!
