Story
Meet Peri.   At first glance, she may look like a Cattle Dog/Heeler mix — freckles, expressive eyes, compact 33-pound frame — but her spirit is something uniquely her own. Peri is just one year old, and while she carries herself with quiet beauty, her early life was marked by hardship and mistreatment at the hands of the very people who should have protected her.   And yet… she is still loving.   Peri has spent the past several months working closely with a remarkable professional behaviorist, and the transformation has been incredible. She has learned that not all hands hurt, that gentle voices exist, and that safety can be real. She now approaches new people and experiences with growing curiosity, though she still carries a healthy caution. Her trust is not given away freely — it is earned — and that is exactly what makes the bond with her so profound.   She is deeply affectionate and incredibly sensitive. While she resembles a Heeler in looks, she is not a bold, bossy alpha personality. Peri is a soft soul. She needs a steady, protective human who will move at her pace, celebrate her small victories, and help her continue building confidence. With patience and kindness, she blossoms. And when she chooses you as her safe place, the loyalty and love she gives back are immeasurable.   Peri adores other dogs and thrives in their company. She has shown no prey drive, and her trainer/foster describes her as so docile and gentle that a respectful cat companion would likely be welcomed just fine. She is leash trained, crate trained, and housebroken — truly a wonderful little housemate who wants nothing more than to be near her person.   A fenced yard would give her the security she enjoys, and a home where she isn’t crated for long nine-hour workdays would help her continue to grow. If you work from home, she would happily sit nearby, offering quiet companionship and the kind of empathetic presence that feels almost human. Peri listens. She watches. She connects.   Her past will not disappear overnight. Healing is not a snap-of-the-fingers process. But for the right person — someone with patience, compassion, and a heart open to earning a once-broken dog’s trust — Peri will be extraordinary. She may not be a carefree Golden Retriever personality, but she will steal your heart just the same… freckles and all.   Peri is special. And the person who chooses her will be special too.   To learn more about adopting Peri, please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com.   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMarch 7, 2026, 12:24 pm

Story
This sweet girl has raised her puppies and is finally ready for a life that’s all about her. Her days of motherhood are behind her, and now it’s time for fun, adventures, and being spoiled like the baby she deserves to be. She loves going on walks and does great on a leash, making her the perfect companion for someone who enjoys getting out and about. She also rides nicely in the car, so she’s ready to tag along wherever the road leads. All she wants now is a family to love her, take her on adventures, and remind her that the best part of life is still ahead. 🐾💛 Great either way little kids and other dogs. Zona is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. All dogs 6 month + receive a Proheart 6 injection at the time of their heartworm test. This provides heartworm prevention for 6 months from the time of that injection. This dog has tested ****** for heartworms. The adoption fee is $450 if your adoption is prepaid and final prior to your dog's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on dogs that are adopted at an event, or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368. WANT TO MEET OUR DOGS IN PERSON? Check the Events tab on cprdogs.com for all weekend adoption event info. The majority of the dogs marked as 'meet me' will be there to see you! If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at our Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05. TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO www.cprdogs.com. If your application was successfully submitted you will get a confirmation. Please DO NOT USE the ADOPTAPET "CONTACT THIS RESCUE GROUP" form below or you may not hear from us as these often end up in spam or bouncing back. Story
Rubi is a stunning little beauty, full of joy and life! She is playful, happy, and wonderfully curious about the world around her. Rubi loves exploring, meeting new people, and discovering everything life has to offer. She has a bright, joyful personality and a sweet spirit that makes everyone around her smile. Life didn’t start easily for Rubi and her siblings. Rubi, along with her brothers Ron, Rudy, and Rufus, was abandoned overnight in a box outside the shelter. They were wet, cold, and very hungry when they were found. Thankfully, our partner rescue, SOS el Arca Animal Rescue, took them in and provided shelter, veterinary care, and lots of love. Since then, Rubi and her siblings have grown into beautiful, healthy puppies. Rubi will be 6 months old in April, which means she will be ready to travel to New York and start her new life with a loving family. She is an affectionate and playful puppy who will thrive in a home where she can continue learning, playing, and growing with her people. Rubi is expected to grow into a medium-size dog, making her a wonderful companion for many different types of homes and lifestyles. She is also crate trained, which helps with potty training and makes the transition into a new home smoother and easier for both Rubi and her future family. Rubi is spayed, microchipped, fully vaccinated, dewormed, and 4DX tested. She is also on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention (Simparica). We are currently looking for a committed adopter or foster-to-adopt home so Rubi can travel to New York on the next transport. If you are looking for a joyful, loving puppy who will bring happiness and energy into your life, Rubi could be the perfect addition to your family. To adopt Rubi, please complete an application and email sosanimalwelfare@gmail.com.

Story
Ron is a handsome and joyful 5-month-old puppy with a playful spirit and a loving heart. He’s full of curiosity and enthusiasm for life. He enjoys exploring, playing with his siblings, and discovering the world around him. Ron has a sweet and friendly nature and loves being around people, always eager to see what’s going on and join in the fun. Ron and his siblings Rubi, Rudy, and Rufus did not have the easiest start in life. They were abandoned overnight in a box outside the shelter—wet, cold, and very hungry. Thankfully, our partner rescue, SOS el Arca Animal Rescue, found them and took them in. They received the care they needed, including veterinary attention, warm shelter, and lots of love. Since then, Ron has grown into a happy, healthy puppy who is ready to find a family of his own. He is playful, affectionate, and curious, with a bright personality that makes him a joy to be around. Like any young puppy, he will thrive in a home where he can continue learning, playing, and growing with patient and loving people. Ron is expected to grow into a medium-size dog, making him a great companion for many different types of homes and lifestyles. He is crate trained, which helps with potty training and makes the transition into a new home much easier. He is neutered, microchipped, fully vaccinated, dewormed, and 4DX tested. Ron is also on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention (Simparica). Ron will soon be ready to travel to New York, and we are currently looking for a committed adopter or foster-to-adopt home so he can make that journey and start his new life. If you are looking for a playful, loving puppy who will grow into a loyal companion, Ron could be the perfect addition to your family.
