Story
Ruby is a handsome and joyful 7-month-old puppy with a playful spirit and a loving heart. He is full of curiosity and enthusiasm for life, always ready for a new adventure. Ruby enjoys playing with his siblings, exploring his surroundings, and spending time with people. He has a sweet, friendly personality and loves being part of the action, happily joining in on fun and cuddles whenever he can. Ruby and his siblings Ron, Rubi, and Rufus did not have the easiest start in life. They were abandoned overnight in a box outside the shelter—wet, cold, and extremely hungry. Thankfully, our partner rescue, SOS el Arca Animal Rescue, found them and brought them to safety. They received the veterinary care, warmth, nourishment, and love they desperately needed. Since then, Ruby has grown into a happy, healthy puppy who is ready to find a family of his own. He is affectionate, playful, and eager to learn, with a cheerful personality that brightens every room he enters. Like any young puppy, Ruby will thrive in a home where he can continue learning and growing with patient, loving guidance. Ruby is expected to grow into a medium-size dog, making him a wonderful companion for many different types of homes and lifestyles. He is crate trained, which helps with potty training and will make his transition into a new home much smoother. He is neutered, microchipped, fully vaccinated, dewormed, and 4DX tested. Ruby is also on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention (Simparica). Ruby is ready to travel to New York in May, and we are currently looking for a committed adopter or foster-to-adopt home so he can make that journey and begin his new life. If you are looking for a playful, loving puppy who will grow into a loyal and devoted companion, Ruby could be the perfect addition to your family. To adopt Ruby, please complete an application and email sosanimalwelfare@gmail.com.

Story
Tigger is a well loved, mannered and loving pure breed whippet. Everyone in my building adores him so very much. He's been through my worst chapters of my life with best energy one can ask for. He's gentle, especially with kids. He loves his daily chasing after squirrels. He has separation anxiety so it's best for him to go to a home with a family so that he doesn't need to be left alone for a prolonged period of time. He would cry for about 10min when left alone. Other than that, he's perfect in any other aspect. Perfectly house trained, he almost never barks indoor, with a very mild temperament.

Story
Say hello to Maika—an almost 6-month-old, 28-pound bundle of joy with a heart full of love! This sweet girl is playful, curious, and always ready to make new friends. Maika loves exploring the outdoors, chasing toys, and cuddling up after a fun day. She’s a smart young pup who’s eager to learn and thrives with positive guidance. Her gentle personality and bright eyes make her a wonderful companion for families or anyone looking for a loyal, loving friend. Maika is a happy, friendly pup who loves everyone she meets—kids, adults, dogs, and even cats! She’s playful but gentle, full of affection, and always ready for new adventures. She’ll thrive in an active, loving home where she can be part of the family fun. Maika, along with her siblings Maggy and Mandy, was left overnight in a box at the front of a shelter. They were found scared, cold, and hungry. Thankfully, they are now safe and receiving medical care, warmth, and love at our partner rescue, SOS El Arca Animal Rescue. Despite everything they’ve been through, Maika is gentle, resilient, and ready to find a loving home where she will never be abandoned again. Like all puppies, Maika is still learning leash manners and basic cues, but she’s smart, eager, and food-motivated. With guidance and consistency, she’ll grow into a confident, well-behaved companion. We recommend a puppy training class to set her up for success. She is fully vetted: -Spayed and microchipped -Up to date on all vaccines -4DX tested (negative) -On flea/tick and heartworm prevention -Dewormed Her potty training has already started, and she is crate trained, which will help with continuing her potty training in her new home. We would love to bring her to New York on our next transport in April with a committed foster-to-adopt or foster. Interested in Maika? Please complete an adoption application and email sosanimalwelfare@gmail.com for more information or to ask questions. If you’re searching for a happy, affectionate pup to share life’s moments with, Maika might be your perfect match!

Story
Pach is a handsome young boy about 1 year old and weighs around 35 lbs. He has a gentle, sweet personality and a calm nature that makes him a wonderful companion. Pach gets along great with other dogs and enjoys playing with his kennel mates, but he also has a soft and affectionate side and loves quiet moments with people. Pach was rescued along with his siblings and their mom from a construction site where the Mayan Train railway was being built. The dogs were being fed by kind construction workers who reached out to our partner rescue, SOS el Arca Animal Rescue. Thanks to them, Pach and his family were brought to safety where they received veterinary care, testing, shelter, and lots of love. Pach can be a little shy when he first meets new people or is in a new environment, but once he feels safe his sweet personality begins to shine. He would do best with a patient adopter who will give him time to adjust and help him build confidence. Because he loves other dogs, Pach would likely do very well in a home with another friendly dog who can be his playmate and help him continue to learn and feel secure. He is a smart and well-mannered young dog who is crate trained and walks nicely on a leash. Pach is neutered, microchipped, fully vaccinated, dewormed, and 4DX tested. He is also on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention (Simparica). At about 35 lbs, he is a great medium size for many homes and lifestyles. Pach is ready to leave the shelter behind and find the loving family he deserves. We would love to bring him to New York on the next transport, but he needs a committed adopter or foster-to-adopt home in place before he can travel. If you are looking for a gentle, loyal, and loving companion who will blossom with a little patience and kindness, Pach could be the perfect addition to your family. To adopt Pach, please complete an application and email sosanimalwelfare@gmail.com.

Story
Meet Grinch – A Gentle Soul Ready for His Forever Home Grinch is a sweet, resilient 4-year-old, 40-lb boy with a calm spirit and a kind heart. He has a gentle, thoughtful nature and approaches the world with quiet curiosity. Grinch truly enjoys companionship — he’s the kind of dog who bonds deeply and becomes a loyal friend for life. Grinch was surrendered by his owner when she could no longer afford to care for him and three other dogs. It was a heartbreaking but loving decision. She brought them to our rescue partner, SOS el Arca Animal Rescue, where Grinch has received shelter, stability, and compassionate care. Despite the uncertainty in his early life, Grinch has remained gentle, trusting, and deeply appreciative of kindness. With consistency and love, he truly blossoms. Grinch does well with other dogs and loves to play. He enjoys going for walks, and when volunteers take him out for even a 15-minute stroll, his joy is undeniable — he wiggles his hips side to side the entire time. He’s simply so happy to explore the world! He also knows how to relax and cuddle. After some fresh air and adventure, he’s content to settle in close and soak up affection. Grinch would be a wonderful companion for someone who enjoys walks in a park, outdoor adventures, exploring the city, and quiet cuddle time at home. He would thrive in a home with another playful dog, but he could also be perfectly happy as the only dog, soaking up all the love and attention. Anyone who gives Grinch a chance will be rewarded with a deeply loyal, loving companion — the kind of once-in-a-lifetime dog who never forgets the kindness shown to him. We would love to bring Grinch to New York on our April transport, but he can only make the journey with a committed adopter or foster-to-adopt home in place. Grinch has already endured too much uncertainty in his life. His next chapter deserves security, love, and belonging. Grinch is neutered, microchipped, fully vaccinated, heartworm tested (negative), dewormed, on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention, and crate trained. If you’re looking for a gentle soul who will truly appreciate the home you give him, Grinch may be the perfect match. Please fill out our adoption application at sosanimalwelfare.org and email it to sosanimalwelfare@gmail.com with any questions. Grinch is ready for his fresh start — and for a family who will never let him feel abandoned again.
