Story
Willard was born around November 24, 2020 and might be in the 25 pound range when done filling out as he came to us a bit on the slim side.  Willard was found by a local dog control officer and when no one came looking for him we agreed to find him a new home.  We are really guessing at breed but it seems he's about the right size, shape and color of a Whippet and also very busy.  Willard is loving the activity here and would love another fun dog in his next home.  We feel he would be good with busy kids too as he's been wonderful with everyone he has met. He is the cutest thing when he's trotting around as he lifts his front legs high like some of those show horses.  He has a good appetite and just a fun, happy, social personality which helped him adjust here quite quickly.  He is a wonderful size and those ears are the best!  If you are a runner or fast walker chances are he'd look forward to each adventure.  He's not been a big barker which we love and he's very smart and learned the dog door with ease.  He is very interactive with the humans here and when he is tired it is time to cuddle.  He's been a great house guest. The Adoption Fee for this dog is $500.00 Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, worming & flea control - a 'complete' pet. We accept CASH or Visa/Mastercard ONLY.    Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Pet care and vet bills are expensive - you must be ready to take on this financial (as well as emotional) responsibility. YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 25 YEARS OF AGE TO ADOPT A DOG FROM JOYFUL RESCUES   We keep our pet list as up-to-date as possible. As soon as a pet is adopted, it is removed from the list. If a pet is still showing, it is still available for adoption.   Can't Adopt Me?  SPONSOR ME Look for the Link 'Special Instructions to Seller' if you want to note a particular pet Before you seek to adopt a pet from Joyful Rescues, please read our Pet Adoption page http://www.joyfulrescues.org/pet_adoption.html. Story
Meet Cassidy, the Charming Introvert! Get ready to fall in love with Cassidy, a pale white pup with captivating puppy eyes and a heart-shaped nose. Despite a challenging past where he navigated the streets and scrounged for survival, Cassidy's resilience shines through. Now, he's on a mission to find a loving home where he can feel safe and cherished. Cassidy is a dog with a gentle and timid personality. Loud noises and intense reactions make him nervous, and he prefers a calm and serene environment. He needs time to warm up to people and build trust before he feels comfortable and secure. This smart little guy knows some tricks already and is a well-mannered companion during feeding time. He's polite and respectful, showing his intelligence and willingness to please. Sitting on command is just one of the many tricks he has mastered. When it comes to relaxation, Cassidy's favorite spot is snuggled up on the couch or bed. He loves cozy naps and enjoys sleeping in when it's chilly or rainy outside. His head and ears are the sweet spots for scratches and cuddles, and he might even roll over for a belly rub! Cassidy is searching for someone who will shower him with love and understanding. While he respects cats and tolerates other dogs, he prefers his own space and will often retreat to a separate room. However, when the other dogs are not around, he comes out for attention and cuddles. He enjoys the quiet company of a select few men, seeming to have a preference for quieter individuals. It's important to note that Cassidy is not a fan of chaos, whether it's caused by humans or other dogs. He seeks a serene and calm environment where he can feel at ease. Car rides are a pleasure for him, as long as he is the sole rider and not in a crowded car with other dogs. To provide Cassidy with his ideal home, a single, quiet man with no other dogs or possibly a submissive dog that Cassidy meets and approves of would be the perfect match. An at-home social life that aligns with his introverted nature is preferable. While Cassidy tends to avoid general interaction and may not seek pets, hugs, or kisses, he has his moments of affection when he feels comfortable. Cassidy may be an introverted hermit, but beneath his reserved exterior lies a dog yearning for love and understanding. If you're someone who appreciates the quiet moments and can provide a calm and peaceful environment, Cassidy will reward you! (Only) Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX)

Story
Introducing the one and only Pedro, a name as vibrant as the Lone Star State itself! You see, Pedro is more than just a Spanish translation of Peter; it carries a certain charm that resonates with my lively spirit. Picture this: "Andele andele, Pedro!" Vamanos! Doesn't it have a ring of adventure and machismo? Now, let me share a bit about my journey. I've had a bumpy start, finding myself in a crowded hoarding situation surrounded by relatives galore. Parents, siblings, half-siblings, aunts, uncles, and even grandparents-it was quite the family reunion, but not the ideal environment, unless you're from Kentucky! As a result, I may still carry a hint of trepidation from my early days without much socialization. But fear not, for both I and my dedicated rescuers have been diligently working to help me blossom into a more confident and comfortable pooch, ready to embrace new experiences and encounters. The ideal home for me would be one that includes a confident and friendly canine companion, older children, or even a tranquil environment without kids. Love is the key ingredient, and if your home resonates with warmth and affection, then count me in! I also need a patient person or family, the confidence builder! So, what do you say? Take me under your wing, fill out that adoption application, and let's embark on an extraordinary journey together. We'll bid farewell to this mundane existence and embrace a world filled with love, laughter, and endless possibilities. Together, we'll create our own adventure, leaving behind the ordinary and savoring the extraordinary. Pedro is ready, are you? Let's blow this popsicle stand and start a beautiful chapter of companionship and joy. Seize this chance to make a difference in both our lives, and let our paths intertwine in a symphony of love and happiness. Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

Story
Lieutenant Natasha Yar, chief security officer aboard the USS-Enterprise, reporting for duty! Of course, you can just call me Tasha. Much like my namesake character from Star Trek: The Next Generation, I am small but mighty and a true protector! I am also (partially) blonde and my funny tiny ears match Tasha Yar's short hair. Also like Tasha, I have had a rrruff life before now and am happy to start anew. I have a little bit of a funny appearance. I have my tiny ears, looong legs, and my eyes sometimes go out to the sides. It's really hard to know what breeds I may be mixed with. All I know is that I'm super sweet and loving but have no problem being feisty too. I'm still a pup after all! I love to wrestle with the other dogs in the house and we get along great, though I do have to eat separately. I get barky when I have food because I feel the need to protect it! I am doing amazing with things like house training, leash training, and being comfortable with car rides. Behind my tough exterior, I'm actually a very sweet and snuggly girl! I'll rub all over you like a cat and always be by your side waiting for love. I am even great with smaller humanoids. I'm ready for a family of my own to explore the galaxies with. Apply today!
