Story
Howdy. I'm ECLAIR (Evie) and here is a bit about me:Breed: Whippet mixAge: 1-1/2 yrsGender: femaleWeight: 14 kgHighlight(s): very friendly, sweet, good on leash, waggy tailed, enthusiastic, curious. Don't I just look like a scrumptiously sweet eclair with white filling in the middle? I am ever so sweet as that pastry too.Rescued at the end of 2022 in Oman when the Police did a mass cull of all the street dogs on sight, I am a survivor of this. Unfortunately, my mum was one of the victims leaving me and my siblings alone and vulnerable on the streets. We were quite young and would not have made it.A local rescuer took us all into her house to safety, phew. She kept us until my rescuer had a space for us at their shelter.Since being with them (approximately 9 months) I have blossomed in character and am a lovely, friendly girl with people and other dogs alike. I got along fine with the cats in the home, when I was first rescued, but haven’t encountered them since. No experience with kids yet. While I am still young and enjoy playing and running around, I also enjoy relaxation time. So an moderately active home is fine. My world so far has been very small, so I will need time to get used to my new environment (Sounds inside a house, traffic, etc...)You'll find me a tail-waggin', enthusiastic girl. Just love attention time. I can be curious too, which means I should be attentive to learning. If you are ready to teach, I'm eager to figure it out.I'm the pup in the middle of the vid with the blue collar, yup, the tail wagging one moving towards the camera. Glamour is my middle name. Heehee. Energy Level: moderateI get along with:Dogs: yesCats: unknown, though quite likely per rescuerKids: unknown Fears: unknown/none observed. Please be patient assisting me in my transition.Training: leash. Go to foster home once adopter approved, so potty training can start.Leash skills: yes. Please be prepared to continue training.House trained: no. Please help me learn! Health notes:I have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee is $800.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. [MID-EAST] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East. [TURKEY] *Dogs receive 4D SNAP tests - which include: Heartworm, Ehrlichiosis, Leishmania and Anaplasmosis. ##2038860##
