Story
Plum Penny may look like she just graduated from puppy kindergarten, but don't let that sweet little face fool you. Beneath those long legs, bright eyes, and impossibly petite frame is a wonderfully settled companion who has already figured out one of life's greatest secrets- everything is better when you simply enjoy being together. Equal parts elegant little sidekick, toy enthusiast, and peaceful presence, Plum easily becomes part of your daily routine and then next thing you know you can't imagine life without her. Go watch Plum Penny on YouTube, then come right back to read more about this tiny sweetheart in motion. You'll see her gentle personality and easygoing nature. https://youtu.be/PANfKoJlXKY Estimated to be around 3 years old and weighing just 26 pounds, Plum looks strikingly like a Whippet, though as with all rescue dogs, her breed and age are simply our best guess. What we know for certain is that she is delightfully petite, beautifully sleek, and somehow carries the fresh-faced look of a much younger dog. Plum has one of those calm, balanced personalities that makes life feel easy. She's confident without being bold, affectionate without being clingy, and content simply sharing whatever the day brings. Whether you're heading out for a drive, relaxing around the house, or tossing a favorite toy across the living room, Plum is happy to be right there with you. Plum gets along wonderfully with other dogs and has always lived with a canine companion. Because of that, we'd love to see her join a home with another gentle, playful dog to share life with, though she has the confidence and easygoing nature to thrive as your one-and-only as well. There's something especially gentle about Plum's presence, she isn't looking to steal the spotlight or keep the house buzzing with activity. Instead, she brings a peaceful energy, happily settling nearby, joining in when invited, and reminding you that some of life's very best companions are also the quietest. Plum is currently looking for a family to call her own. If you think this sweet little lady might be the missing piece in your home, please submit an adoption application here- https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/6a3ed2eaff01e0558a022e04 Questions? Sweetie is a fun and loving girl who loves to spend time with people and playful kind dog companions. She is an active girl who is looking for a home with space to romp around. While she isn’t super heavy, she is on the taller side with her long legs. While with us she has done well with the other dogs she has met and with the cats she has met. She would also do well as an only dog. She crates well, and has been learning basic skills such as sit and wait. We are looking for a home for her that wants to put the bit of time in to make this young girl the amazing pup we know she can be! Sweeties adoption donation is $450 to help cover some of her costs including transport, spay, vaccines, vetting, and daily care. Most dogs require a fenced yard. We seek fully fenced yards with a physical, visible fence. Typically, the fence must be connected to the house/ a door in the home, and the dog safe fenced area must exclude driveway and car access. Story
Animal Information: Trixie is a 9.5 year old sighthound/terrier mix with a gentle, sensitive nature. Her world recently changed when her owner of nearly 8 years could no longer care for her due to a medical crisis, but through it all she has remained a sweet and loving dog.  On walks she is calm and non reactive, and she really enjoys being outside. Although she had been spending much of her time in a crate, she has done so well in her foster home and has settled right back into a normal routine. Trixie is friendly with everyone she meets. She can be a little unsure in new places at first, but she warms up quickly and will start leaning in for affection before long. She is house trained, crate trained, and rides nicely in the car. Trixie would fit into many different homes and is ready to find a place where she can feel safe and loved again. Foster Profile: Trixie is a sweet girl, looking for someone who would love to give an older girl a great several years of life! She still likes to play and enjoys walks and loves her people. Trixie would prefer to be an only dog in the home, but has been fine with other dogs in public. Trixie is currently being fostered with other dogs in the home and is doing fine, but she is not a fan of small dogs in her space. Trixie does great in a car and in a crate and is house trained. She's a goofy gal with Loys of life left in her! She's great on a leash and will steal your heart. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $400 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations Rabies and DPPV per AVMA standards, any indicated preventative care, microchip with lifetime registration, and recent health check with a veterinarian. Story
4/30/26 pupdate from foster family: Meet Charlie, a 9-year-old Lab mix with a heart of gold and just a touch of “stranger danger” at first glance. He might start off a little shy—think “awkward first date energy”—but give him a minute (and maybe a kind word or two), and he’ll be your new best friend before you know it. Charlie is basically the social butterfly of the dog world when it comes to other pups—he gets along great with dogs and even gives cats a respectful nod. He’s fully trained (yes, he’s got manners and brains), thanks to Pawsitive Dog Training School, and his future family will get 12 free private lessons to keep the good vibes going. Whether you’re into hiking, couch lounging, or just wandering around the house pretending to be productive, Charlie is your guy. His motto? “If you’re there, I’m there.” He’s fantastic off-leash, loves being part of whatever you’re doing, and is truly just happy to be by your side. Charlie is ready to trade in his “temporary digs” for a forever home filled with love, companionship, and maybe a few treats (okay, definitely treats). If you’re looking for a loyal, gentle, slightly goofy companion who will warm your heart daily—Charlie’s been waiting just for you🐾
