Story
Animal Information: Handsome Jack (nka Jackson) is an estimated 12-18-month old 35 lb now neutered male Whippet mix with epic ears and a fantastic temperament. He was found as a stray (with Handsome Jack) on a large ranch property and processed thru COH Animal Control. He was given just 72 hrs because the shelter was beyond capacity so PAWHI stepped in and found him (and Charlie) foster placement. In foster care Charlie has learned house-training, crate-training, and leash-training, is comfortable with handling, takes treats gently and shows no behavior issues like resource guarding. He is social and friendly with dogs and people including young children, though he is initially timid with men. He has not been evaluated with cats. This soft and sweet boy is joining Dog Gone Seattle and we look forward to getting to know him in foster care. Foster Profile: Jackson needed a few days to adjust to life on the mainland but he settled into his foster home in stride, seamlessly blending into the pack including several other dogs and kids. He's even respectful of the cat! He's picked up house training and crate training like an old pro and is gaining confidence every day. Jackson is very dog oriented and loves to romp with his dog friends. He will need at least one canine companion in his adoptive home, and he might do better in a pack. He is a soft and sweet natured boy who will bond with people once rapport and trust is established. We anticipate he'll love to chase things once he gets comfortable! He hasn't shown any unwanted behaviors, just an all around good Hawaii dog who crossed the pond to find a forever.  Adopter Profile: Fenced yard required Companion animal required Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations Rabies and DPPV per AVMA standards, any indicated preventative care, heartworm test, microchip with lifetime registration, and recent health check with a veterinarian. Adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 organization (ID 81-5101166). Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was transferred from PAWHI in Hawaii, where he was a stray intake to COH Animal Control. Story
Animal Information: Trixie is a 9.5 year old sighthound/terrier mix with a gentle, sensitive nature. Her world recently changed when her owner of nearly 8 years could no longer care for her due to a medical crisis, but through it all she has remained a sweet and loving dog.  On walks she is calm and non reactive, and she really enjoys being outside. Although she had been spending much of her time in a crate, she has done so well in her foster home and has settled right back into a normal routine. Trixie is friendly with everyone she meets. She can be a little unsure in new places at first, but she warms up quickly and will start leaning in for affection before long. She is house trained, crate trained, and rides nicely in the car. Trixie would fit into many different homes and is ready to find a place where she can feel safe and loved again. Foster Profile: Trixie is a sweet girl, looking for someone who would love to give an older girl a great several years of life! She still likes to play and enjoys walks and loves her people. Trixie would prefer to be an only dog in the home, but has been fine with other dogs in public. Trixie is currently being fostered with other dogs in the home and is doing fine, but she is not a fan of small dogs in her space. Trixie does great in a car and in a crate and is house trained. She's a goofy gal with Loys of life left in her! She's great on a leash and will steal your heart. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $400 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations Rabies and DPPV per AVMA standards, any indicated preventative care, microchip with lifetime registration, and recent health check with a veterinarian. Adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 organization (ID 81-5101166). Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was surrendered to our rescue when [circumstances of transfer], arriving to foster care on 3/17/26. She will be available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.July 19, 2026, 10:25 am

I started life in South Korea on a dog meat farm, and though I still carry a few little scars from that time, my heart has healed so much. With the help of some kind trainers, I’ve learned what love feels like—and now I’m ready to share it with my very own person. At first, I can be a little shy and cautious (old habits!), but once I trust you, my sweetness shines all the way through. I become playful, happy, and full of zoomies—I’ll even make you laugh with my goofy side. I love to run, I love to learn, and nothing makes me happier than knowing I’ve made you smile.I think I’d be happiest as your one-and-only furry friend, since other dogs aren’t quite my cup of tea. But honestly? With a heart as big as mine, I’ll fill your world with more than enough love. A securely fenced yard would be wonderful for me, along with a patient person who’ll keep helping me grow braver and more confident every day.I may have had a tough beginning, but I haven’t let it dim my spirit. Now I just need someone to see the sweet, devoted, silly girl I am and say, “That’s my dog.” My name’s Darcy—and I can’t wait to make you smile too. Darcy was a past Dog of the Month!!  https://greyhoundpetsinc.org/darcy-december-dog-of-the-month-3/Sponsored by Angela Kasse Sponsored by Jieun Cho Darcy would love another sponsor while she waits for her forever home.  If this sounds like something you'd like to do, see this link for more info.  https://greyhoundpetsinc.org/support/sponsor-a-dog/ Greyhound Pets, Inc. - www.greyhoundpetsinc.org - 877-468-7681 WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS TO ADOPT A GREYHOUND? Story
**Nyssa, A gorgeous Whippet- Jack Russell Mix**   Introducing Nyssa, a truly exceptional one-year-old Jack Russell Terrier-Whippet mix with a short coat. This delightful pup perfectly blends gentleness and strength, feistiness and confidence—wrapped in a personality that is simply irresistible. At this pivotal stage in her life, Nyssa is ready to flourish and thrive with the loving family she deserves. This is your chance to make a lasting difference in her world!   While Nyssa may be a bit shy at first, she quickly opens up and builds trust with kind encouragement. An active family would be her perfect match, providing the companionship she needs to channel her boundless energy into thrilling adventures and meaningful training. Intelligent and eager to learn, Jack Russells excel with proper guidance, and with the Whippet’s calm and gentle nature, Nyssa is the ideal partner for anyone excited about training and outdoor fun. Just imagine the incredible bond you could create together!   It’s important to note that this unique breed has a strong prey drive, so its future home should be free of small animals and cats. To ensure a harmonious environment, we are particularly looking for families with children over 10 years old who have experience with dogs.   Nyssa's stunning short coat boasts beautiful brown spots against a pristine white background, complemented by her long back and medium-short legs, which create an adorable silhouette. Her robust, muscular build not only hints at her potential as a fantastic hiking or agility partner but also promises a life overflowing with joy and excitement. Picture all the adventures waiting for you with Nyssa by your side!     **Adopting Nyssa** To adopt Nyssa, please use the link below. One of our volunteers will review your application and follow up with you to ask questions, address any concerns you may have, and determine if you are a good match for this pup. If a match is made, the next step will be a meet-and-greet. Please use a computer to complete the application, as tablets and cell phones may disrupt the process. Nyssa has transitioned to a human-grade diet that avoids kibble, focusing instead on a healthy canine-specific feeding regimen. We will educate her adopters on proper diet and nutrition.   The adoption fee for Nyssa is $350   All funds will be utilized to cover her medical care and to rescue more dogs in need. www.smallpupsrescue.org Nyssa has a bonded dog adoption fee of $595.00 if adopted as a bonded pair with her best buddy, Luna.      July 9, 2026, 3:15 pm

Story
4/30/26 pupdate from foster family: Meet Charlie, a 9-year-old Lab mix with a heart of gold and just a touch of “stranger danger” at first glance. He might start off a little shy—think “awkward first date energy”—but give him a minute (and maybe a kind word or two), and he’ll be your new best friend before you know it. Charlie is basically the social butterfly of the dog world when it comes to other pups—he gets along great with dogs and even gives cats a respectful nod. He’s fully trained (yes, he’s got manners and brains), thanks to Pawsitive Dog Training School, and his future family will get 12 free private lessons to keep the good vibes going. Whether you’re into hiking, couch lounging, or just wandering around the house pretending to be productive, Charlie is your guy. His motto? “If you’re there, I’m there.” He’s fantastic off-leash, loves being part of whatever you’re doing, and is truly just happy to be by your side. Charlie is ready to trade in his “temporary digs” for a forever home filled with love, companionship, and maybe a few treats (okay, definitely treats). If you’re looking for a loyal, gentle, slightly goofy companion who will warm your heart daily—Charlie’s been waiting just for you🐾
