Story
Animal Information: Trixie is a 9.5 year old sighthound/terrier mix with a gentle, sensitive nature. Her world recently changed when her owner of nearly 8 years could no longer care for her due to a medical crisis, but through it all she has remained a sweet and loving dog. She gets along well with other dogs and has lived with cats. On walks she is calm and non reactive, and she really enjoys being outside. Although she had been spending much of her time in a crate, she has done so well in her foster home and has settled right back into a normal routine. Trixie is friendly with everyone she meets. She can be a little unsure in new places at first, but she warms up quickly and will start leaning in for affection before long. She is house trained, crate trained, and rides nicely in the car. Trixie would fit into many different homes and is ready to find a place where she can feel safe and loved again. Foster Profile: Coming Soon! Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $400 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations Rabies and DPPV per AVMA standards, any indicated preventative care, microchip with lifetime registration, and recent health check with a veterinarian. Adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 organization (ID 81-5101166). Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was surrendered to our rescue when [circumstances of transfer], arriving to foster care on 3/17/26. Story
Plum Penny may look like she just graduated from puppy kindergarten, but don't let that sweet little face fool you. Beneath those long legs, bright eyes, and impossibly petite frame is a wonderfully settled companion who has already figured out one of life's greatest secrets- everything is better when you simply enjoy being together. Equal parts elegant little sidekick, toy enthusiast, and peaceful presence, Plum easily becomes part of your daily routine and then next thing you know you can't imagine life without her. Go watch Plum Penny on YouTube, then come right back to read more about this tiny sweetheart in motion. You'll see her gentle personality and easygoing nature. https://youtu.be/PANfKoJlXKY Estimated to be around 3 years old and weighing just 26 pounds, Plum looks strikingly like a Whippet, though as with all rescue dogs, her breed and age are simply our best guess. What we know for certain is that she is delightfully petite, beautifully sleek, and somehow carries the fresh-faced look of a much younger dog. Plum has one of those calm, balanced personalities that makes life feel easy. She's confident without being bold, affectionate without being clingy, and content simply sharing whatever the day brings. Whether you're heading out for a drive, relaxing around the house, or tossing a favorite toy across the living room, Plum is happy to be right there with you. Plum gets along wonderfully with other dogs and has always lived with a canine companion. Because of that, we'd love to see her join a home with another gentle, playful dog to share life with, though she has the confidence and easygoing nature to thrive as your one-and-only as well. There's something especially gentle about Plum's presence, she isn't looking to steal the spotlight or keep the house buzzing with activity. Instead, she brings a peaceful energy, happily settling nearby, joining in when invited, and reminding you that some of life's very best companions are also the quietest. Plum is currently looking for a family to call her own. If you think this sweet little lady might be the missing piece in your home, please submit an adoption application here- https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/6a3ed2eaff01e0558a022e04 Questions? SANDOR's Story Est. DOB: 11/05/2018 Weight: 65lbs Adoption fee: $99 Sandor is a big ol' sweetheart who’s ready to bring warmth, companionship, and a whole lot of love into the right home. He’s the kind of dog who truly enhances the quality of life for the person he bonds with. In the afternoon, he enjoys a leisurely stroll and the occasional 10-minute burst of playful energy before settling back in for more lounging. He’s incredibly respectful around food; you can even take treats right from his mouth or hand without a worry. All he really wants is attention, calm companionship, and someone who appreciates a low-key, loyal dog. If you’re looking for a loving, easygoing companion who will happily share your couch and your heart, Sandor may be your perfect match. (Adoption fee includes spay/neuter surgery, age-appropriate current vaccines, microchip, and preventative flea treatment.) Apply today! https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/SSAR/Dog Disclaimer: Please note that dogs in a rescue environment may behave differently than they would in a home setting. While we do our best to assess each dogs habits and behaviors, we cannot guarantee that any dog is fully potty trained or will not have accidents after adoption. Changes in environment, routine, stress levels, and transition into a new home can all impact a dogs house-training habits. Patience, consistency, and continued training may be needed as the dog adjusts to their new home. Breed descriptions are provided as a general estimate based on the dog's size, shape, and appearance. These descriptions are not definitive and should be considered a "guestimate." Since we cannot always know the exact breed mix of our rescue animals, the information provided is simply an educated guess. I started life in South Korea on a dog meat farm, and though I still carry a few little scars from that time, my heart has healed so much. With the help of some kind trainers, I’ve learned what love feels like—and now I’m ready to share it with my very own person. At first, I can be a little shy and cautious (old habits!), but once I trust you, my sweetness shines all the way through. I become playful, happy, and full of zoomies—I’ll even make you laugh with my goofy side. I love to run, I love to learn, and nothing makes me happier than knowing I’ve made you smile.I think I’d be happiest as your one-and-only furry friend, since other dogs aren’t quite my cup of tea. But honestly? With a heart as big as mine, I’ll fill your world with more than enough love. A securely fenced yard would be wonderful for me, along with a patient person who’ll keep helping me grow braver and more confident every day.I may have had a tough beginning, but I haven’t let it dim my spirit. Now I just need someone to see the sweet, devoted, silly girl I am and say, “That’s my dog.” My name’s Darcy—and I can’t wait to make you smile too. Darcy was a past Dog of the Month!!  https://greyhoundpetsinc.org/darcy-december-dog-of-the-month-3/Sponsored by Angela Kasse Sponsored by Jieun Cho Darcy would love another sponsor while she waits for her forever home.  If this sounds like something you'd like to do, see this link for more info.  https://greyhoundpetsinc.org/support/sponsor-a-dog/ Greyhound Pets, Inc. - www.greyhoundpetsinc.org - 877-468-7681 WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS TO ADOPT A GREYHOUND?
