Story
Animal Information: Trixie is a 9.5 year old sighthound/terrier mix with a gentle, sensitive nature. Her world recently changed when her owner of nearly 8 years could no longer care for her due to a medical crisis, but through it all she has remained a sweet and loving dog. She gets along well with other dogs and has lived with cats. On walks she is calm and non reactive, and she really enjoys being outside. Although she had been spending much of her time in a crate, she has done so well in her foster home and has settled right back into a normal routine. Trixie is friendly with everyone she meets. She can be a little unsure in new places at first, but she warms up quickly and will start leaning in for affection before long. She is house trained, crate trained, and rides nicely in the car. Trixie would fit into many different homes and is ready to find a place where she can feel safe and loved again. Foster Profile: Coming Soon! Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations Rabies and DPPV per AVMA standards, any indicated preventative care, microchip with lifetime registration, and recent health check with a veterinarian. Adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 organization (ID 81-5101166). Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was surrendered to our rescue when [circumstances of transfer], arriving to foster care on 3/17/26. She will be available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.March 23, 2026, 6:01 pm

Story
Chest cuddles. Backyard zoomies. A gentle heart in a sleek, athletic body… this is Gizmo! He is the kind of dog who quietly works his way right into the center of your life. Want to see this cuddle-champion in motion? Head to YouTube and then come back to read about the boy who just wants to love and be loved. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vEF5Dyf_TRM Gizmo is estimated to be about a year old, he weighs 38 lbs, and appears to be some sort of whippet mix, though as always with rescue, breed and birthday are our best guess. What isn’t a guess? His favorite place in the entire world is curled up directly on your chest, paws tucked, eyes soft, like he’s making sure he can feel your heartbeat. If you sit down, he’s there. He doesnt have to be on your chest, he is happy to settle in near by but he would absolutely love to be snuggled anytime you have a free hand and a moment to spare. In his foster home, Gizmo lives with a 65 lb Siberian Husky and a 40 lb Mini Australian Shepherd, and the backyard has officially been transformed into a racetrack. He lives for a good game of chase. They sprint, they loop, they bounce off each other in joyful chaos, and then just as quickly, Gizmo will peel off to sniff the breeze and explore the yard before finding his ideal sunning spot. All signs point to him being solar powered. Play hard. Belly to the sun. Big nap. Repeat. That’s the Gizmo rhythm. He would truly thrive in a home with a yard and ideally a playful canine buddy to keep the zoomies alive. He’s wonderful with kids, there are children that visit his foster home frequently, ages 7 and 4, and he adores them! He greets guests of all ages and sizes with happy enthusiasm, and once he’s settled, he offers his signature hugs. Not the chaotic kind, just gentle, lean-in, full-hearted kind. He loves toys, especially stuffed ones he can enthusiastically deconstruct, and his prized possession is a good chew bone or antler. He plays hard, but he’s respectful. If he grabs something he shouldn’t, he can be asked to “drop it,” and he does so without attitude. No guarding, no drama. Just a young, smart boy still polishing his manners. Speaking of smart, Gizmo learned “sit” by watching the other dogs and quickly realizing snacks are involved. He’s observant, thoughtful, and very trainable with positive guidance. He’s potty trained, crate trained during the workday, sleeps in his crate at night without whining, and rides in the car like a seasoned road-tripper. Once the truck gets moving, he curls into a little cinnamon roll on the seat and naps. On leash, he has the basics down and is steadily improving. He notices the world around him but rarely barks or lunges. He takes cues from his foster’s Husky and is learning that calm is cool. In playgroups, he impressed us with how steady and socially aware he is. With bigger or more confident dogs, he stands his ground without escalating. With pushier personalities, he keeps things light and avoids conflict. His play style is quick and bouncy, then he’s off to sniff something fascinating in the grass. He has some sensitivity to big, sudden noises like vacuums, fireworks, or thunder. Unexpected sounds can make him unsure, and he appreciates reassurance in those moments. What stands out far more than any uncertainty is how deeply he wants connection. He wants his person. He wants his family. He wants to be someone’s best friend in that wholehearted, no-holding-back kind of way. After a good run, he is more than happy to lounge on the couch and simply exist beside you. Adventure buddy outside. Chest-cuddle specialist inside. Gizmo is ready for a home with a yard to run in, people to love, maybe a playful pup to run and race, and a couch to land on when the day winds down. If you’re ready for zoomies in the yard and a warm little heartbeat against your chest at night, Gizmo is ready for you! Story
Crunchy or Candy is a 1-year-old whippet mix weighing about 30 lbs, and she is pure sweetness wrapped in a sleek, adorable package. This girl has truly never met a stranger—everyone she meets is instantly her new best friend. She is extremely friendly, affectionate, and full of love. Candy thrives on human companionship and will happily soak up all the cuddles, pets, and attention you’re willing to give. Her gentle, loving nature makes her a wonderful fit for just about any home. Candy is fully vaccinated, spayed, microchipped, and kept on heartworm and flea preventatives. She is currently in a foster home in Austin, TX, but transport is available anywhere to the right home, whether in the States or even in Canada. If you’re looking for a happy, social, and devoted pup to add joy to your life, Candy (Kai) may be your perfect match 💕🐾 To meet this amazing pup via facetime or whatsapp or other video chat apps, please send a completed application via www.savesomesouls.com Candy's adoption fee includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter surgery and recovery, heartworm and flea prevention), a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, Harness and Transport Fee to several states in the United States. Yards MUST BE adequately and fully fenced to adopt our pups. We do not accept electric or underground fences. Our dogs are fully assessed by foster parents, vets and behaviorists, as well as videos and video chats are available to observe their manners in public. We are extremely transparent and like to share everything negative and positive with the adopters, to ensure it's a good fit and they are not returned to us, as the trips are very stressful on them. Houston is home to million strays, many who are abandoned, many born on the streets, many who escaped while living in the yard, which is common in Texas. Since our rescue does not get grants that shelters get, we use adoption fee to help the pups and kitties in our care. Your adoption fee goes towards vetting and feeding our long term and permanent fosters, and unadoptable pups, as well as towards the monthly care and preventatives etc of our pets. By adopting one pup from our rescue, you make room for another dog to be rescued our high kill shelter, thus becoming an integral part of our mission to save as many unfortunate dogs off the streets and shelters as possible. So Thank you for choosing to rescue, and not go to a breeder.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hershey Hershey arrived from an overcrowded shelter where he and his 7 one-year-old siblings were dumped. Each sibling was quite different from the other. similar body shapes with varying colours. Hershey and Cocoa were the only two reddish-liver colour pups, and their fur resembles that of Aussie shepherds. They are likely very mixed breeds, with Hershey's Whippet characteristics dominant, and Cocoa's Aussie traits showing more in her. Hershey is very shy initially. His fosters are working with him to become accustomed to love, meeting a variety of people, older children, and new dogs. He is doing well on all counts. Hershey will be neutered before going to his forever people. His fosters are getting him on a regular outdoor potty schedule, training him in a harness and lead, and he's living with three people and only one dog. Hershey was relinquished with his family from a home with too many animals. The quiet and calm are new to him, but he seems to relish them.  Crates are scary to Hershey, so he is learning to stay in a pen at night with an open crate as a den, so he will not be afraid of a crate when it is time to visit the vet.  Hershey has a lovely, sweet, and curious demeanor. He will do well in a home with other friendly dogs, and people who have the time and love to give this gorgeous boy. He needs an adult-only home due to being mouthy. We will update this post as his personality unfolds. **Adopting Hershey** To adopt Hershey, please use the link below. One of our volunteers will review your application and follow up with you to ask questions, address any concerns, and determine whether you are a good match for this pup. If a match is made, the next step will be a meet-and-greet. Please use a computer to complete the application, as tablets and cell phones may disrupt the process. Koda has transitioned to a human-grade diet that avoids kibble and focuses on a healthy, canine-specific feeding regimen. We will educate his adopters on proper diet and nutrition.   The adoption fee for Hershey is $495 and includes Neutering, puppy vaccines, rabies vaccination, and a microchip.   www.rompinpawsrescue.com     Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 24, 2026, 12:41 am

She is friendly, sweet and affectionate. She can be a little shy at first, but once comfortable she has a silly/goofy side. Loves to play and run, but also likes affection. Olive is a big time leaner! Olive is very smart and good at picking up on patterns. Olive would do best in an active home with a securely fenced yard (6 foot fence), in a quieter neighborhood. She is a quick learner and eager to please and will need a home that can continue her training (she loves to learn). Olive will need a home without cats.
