Story
Crunchy or Candy is a 1-year-old whippet mix weighing about 30 lbs, and she is pure sweetness wrapped in a sleek, adorable package. This girl has truly never met a stranger—everyone she meets is instantly her new best friend. She is extremely friendly, affectionate, and full of love. Candy thrives on human companionship and will happily soak up all the cuddles, pets, and attention you’re willing to give. Her gentle, loving nature makes her a wonderful fit for just about any home. Candy is fully vaccinated, spayed, microchipped, and kept on heartworm and flea preventatives. She is currently in a foster home in Austin, TX, but transport is available anywhere to the right home, whether in the States or even in Canada. If you’re looking for a happy, social, and devoted pup to add joy to your life, Candy (Kai) may be your perfect match 💕🐾 To meet this amazing pup via facetime or whatsapp or other video chat apps, please send a completed application via www.savesomesouls.com Candy's adoption fee includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter surgery and recovery, heartworm and flea prevention), a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, Harness and Transport Fee to several states in the United States. Yards MUST BE adequately and fully fenced to adopt our pups. We do not accept electric or underground fences. Our dogs are fully assessed by foster parents, vets and behaviorists, as well as videos and video chats are available to observe their manners in public. We are extremely transparent and like to share everything negative and positive with the adopters, to ensure it's a good fit and they are not returned to us, as the trips are very stressful on them. Houston is home to million strays, many who are abandoned, many born on the streets, many who escaped while living in the yard, which is common in Texas. Since our rescue does not get grants that shelters get, we use adoption fee to help the pups and kitties in our care. Your adoption fee goes towards vetting and feeding our long term and permanent fosters, and unadoptable pups, as well as towards the monthly care and preventatives etc of our pets. By adopting one pup from our rescue, you make room for another dog to be rescued our high kill shelter, thus becoming an integral part of our mission to save as many unfortunate dogs off the streets and shelters as possible. So Thank you for choosing to rescue, and not go to a breeder.

Story
Meet Niome 🐶💕 Little Niome is a quirky 8 month old Whippet mix with a heart full of curiosity and charm. She was found roaming the Blue Star area in October 2025 and has quickly learned what it means to be safe, loved, and part of a family. At just 26 pounds, Niome is light and gentle. She is quiet in the home and not much of a barker, but she has a playful and spunky side. She can be mischievous when something chewable is left within reach. She goes with the flow and has adapted beautifully to daily life filled with playtime, meals, and relaxed chill time. Niome settled easily into her foster home and became fast friends with two female pit bulls and a 9 year old cat. She loves socializing and would do best in a home with other dogs and or cats. She enjoys spending time outside and loves being close to her people. At bedtime, she softly curls up near your head just to be close. She has embraced crate training and has quickly learned what it means to live in a safe and loving environment. Her expressive little face perfectly matches her curious and sweet personality. Things she is still working on include leash training and polite greetings. She is eager to learn and continues to improve every day. Adoption Fee 📝 Dogs under one year old $250 local in Texas $550 out of state with transport included 🚐 Niome is ready to find her forever family and would love a home that enjoys walks, companionship, and a gentle pup with a playful spark. 🐾💛

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hershey Hershey arrived from an overcrowded shelter where he and his 7 one year old siblings were dumped. Each sibling was quite different from the other. similar body shapes with varying colours. Hershey and Cocao were the only two reddish-liver colour pups and their fur reembles Aussie shepherds. They are likely very mixed breeds with Hersheys Whippet characteristics being dominant and Cocoa's Aussie shows more in her. Hershey is very shy initially. His fosters are working with him to become accustomed to love, meeting a variety of people, older children and new dogs. He is doing well on all counts. Hershey will be neutered before going to his forever people. His fosters are getting him on a regular outdoor potty schedule, harness and lead training and living with three people and only one dog. Hershey was relinquished with his family from a home with too many animals,. The quiet and calm os new to him, but he seems to relish it.  Crates are scary to Hershey so he is learning to stay in a pen at nite with an open crate as a den so he will not be afraid of a crate when it is time to visit the vet.  Hershey has a lovely, sweet and curious demeanor. He will do well in a home with other friendly dogs, dog savvy children and people who have the time and love toi give this gorgeous boy. we will uopdate this post as his personality unfolds. **Adopting Hershey** To adopt Hershey, please use the link below. One of our volunteers will review your application and follow up with you to ask questions, address any concerns, and determine whether you are a good match for this pup. If a match is made, the next step will be a meet-and-greet. Please use a computer to complete the application, as tablets and cell phones may disrupt the process. Koda has transitioned to a human-grade diet that avoids kibble and focuses on a healthy, canine-specific feeding regimen. We will educate his adopters on proper diet and nutrition.   The adoption fee for Hershey is $595 and includes Neuter, puppy vaccines, rabies, and a microchip.         www.rompinpawsrescue.com     Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 28, 2026, 6:15 pm

SANDOR's Story Est. DOB: 11/05/2018 Weight: 65lbs Adoption fee: $99 (Adoption fee includes spay/neuter surgery, age-appropriate current vaccines, microchip, and preventative flea treatment.) Sandor is a big ol' sweetheart who’s ready to bring warmth, companionship, and a whole lot of love into the right home. He’s the kind of dog who truly enhances the quality of life for the person he bonds with. Once he trusts you, he gives his whole heart. Sandor is a world-class cuddler and spends most of his day relaxing on the couch or snoozing in a sunny spot. In the afternoon, he enjoys a leisurely stroll and the occasional 10-minute burst of playful energy before settling back in for more lounging. He’s a gentle, affectionate boy who adores people—especially adults and older kids (10+) and would prefer to be the only furry friend in the home. He’s incredibly respectful around food; you can even take treats right from his mouth or hand without a worry. All he really wants is attention, calm companionship, and someone who appreciates a low-key, loyal dog. Please contact Moira Corrigan (info@greyhoundpetsinc.org) for more information about this pet.OliveTag No: 6979Registered Name: NoneBreed: Whippet MixDate of Birth:  Approx March 2022Color: BlackCat Trainable: NoDog Friendly: See commentsKid Friendly: Older onlyLocation: Foster HomeOlive is a hoot! She is friendly, sweet and affectionate. She can be a little shy at first, but once comfortable she has a silly/goofy side. Loves to play and run, but also likes affection. Olive is a big time leaner! Olive is very smart and good at picking up on patterns. Olive would do best in an active home with a securely fenced yard (6 foot fence). While she does ok in an apartment, it needs to be quieter (she gets a little uneasy about the surrounding noises) and with an active family. She is a quick learner and eager to please and will need a home that can continue her training (she loves to learn). Olive will need a home without cats. She does better with dogs that are bigger than she is and would prefer to be an only dog. Olive is about 35 pounds worth of energy and delight!
