I’ve been told they’re adorable, and honestly, I think everyone should spend a little more time appreciating them. Life changed pretty dramatically when my person passed away, so it took me a little while to figure out what was happening. These days, I’m doing just fine! I might take a few minutes to warm up when we first meet, but I’m not planning to make you work for it. Give me a little time, some kindness, and maybe a snack, and we’ll probably be friends before you know it. I **LOVE having other dogs around.** They make me happy, and I really enjoy canine company. I’d be perfectly okay as your one-and-only girl, but if you already have a friendly dog, I’d be thrilled to have a roommate. Basically, I’m happy either way—I just appreciate having someone around who understands the importance of a good nap. And speaking of naps… I am **not** what you would call an overachiever in the energy department. 😂 I enjoy my daily walks and love getting out to sniff and explore, but I’m not looking to train for a marathon. A nice stroll followed by some quality couch time? **Now THAT is my kind of cardio.** I’m a sweet, easygoing girl who would love a home where life is fairly calm and predictable. I’m happiest when I can hang out with my people, enjoy a leisurely walk, make friends with another dog, and then settle in for a good snooze. Think of me as the **latte of dogs**: warm, comforting, easy to love, and best enjoyed while relaxing on the couch. ☕🐶 I’m ready for a forever family who will appreciate my big ears, gentle personality, low-key lifestyle, and impressive ability to make myself comfortable absolutely anywhere. I’ve got plenty of love left to give, and I’m pretty sure my best chapter is still waiting to be written.

Meet Quimby! 🐾❤️ Quimby is 2 years old, 12 pounds, and one adorable little wire-haired Terrier blend who was found running the streets. Now our question is… HOW DID THAT EVEN HAPPEN?! 😂 Seriously, Quimby. You weigh 12 pounds. You have little legs. You look like you should have been sitting on someone’s couch supervising the household—not out there trying to live the life of an outlaw! Thankfully, this tiny fugitive finally got scooped up, and you can almost see the relief on his face. Quimby is simply happy to be safe. Even being at the rescue seems pretty wonderful to him because there’s food, soft beds, kind hands and—most importantly—nobody expects him to figure out where dinner is coming from. Quimby is gentle, loving and incredibly sweet. He has that wonderful Terrier combination of scruffy hair, enormous personality and a face that looks like he may have several very important opinions. And then there are THOSE EYES. 😍 Those big brown eyes could probably get him out of a speeding ticket, an overdue library book AND whatever happened to the sandwich you left unattended. He’s scruffy. He’s sweet. He’s 12 pounds of precious. And his days of running the streets are officially OVER. Now Quimby is looking for the kind of adventure he deserves—the one that ends with a family, a couch and his very own spot in the bed. ❤️🐾 Quimby is ready to be somebody’s little everything.

Story
Meet Benji! 🐾 Benji is a 1-year-old, 37-pound scruffy Terrier mix (our best breed guess!) with a sweet heart and a playful spirit. This affectionate boy loves to cuddle and would happily spend his day soaking up attention from his people. He also loves toys, enjoys long walks, and has plenty of energy for adventures. His leash manners are good, though he occasionally needs a reminder to stay on a loose leash. Squirrels are definitely his weakness! 🐿️ Benji is house broken, sleeps well in his crate after just a few minutes of settling in, and is a wonderful house guest. While he isn’t especially food motivated, he’s eager to be close to people and gets along well with other dogs. He’s more submissive by nature and would likely enjoy having a canine companion, but we think he’d also do just fine as your one and only. Benji is a happy, loving pup who’s ready to fill your home with snuggles, fun, and lots of tail wags!

Story
🐾 Meet PomPom! 🐾 PomPom is a 2-year-old, 19-pound Schnauzer blend who arrived absolutely terrified and convinced the whole world was ending! Everything was scary, nothing made sense, and she wasn’t quite sure what was happening. But apparently nobody told PomPom that Schnauzers aren’t really known for giving up. 😂 After all, she’s a Schnauzer—and Schnauzers tend to have opinions, determination, personality, and absolutely no intention of quietly fading into the background. Once PomPom realized the world was NOT ending, she made a decision: she wasn’t just going to live… she was going to LIVE BIG! 💗 Her foster mom says this girl has discovered that life is actually pretty fantastic! She loves to play, roughhouse, race around doing crazy zoomies, and enjoy every minute of her new beginning. She’s playful, spirited, smart, curious, and has that classic Schnauzer attitude that says, “Okay, I’ve got this. You can follow me.” 😂 Schnauzers are known for being clever, loyal, lively, alert and full of character, and PomPom definitely got the memo. She may only weigh 19 pounds, but we’re fairly certain at least 12 pounds of that is personality. She went from “THE WORLD IS ENDING!” 😱 to “WHAT ARE WE DOING TODAY?! LET’S GOOOOOO!” 🤣🐾💨 Zoomies? ✅ Roughhousing? ✅ Having opinions? Obviously. ✅ Living her best life? ABSOLUTELY. ✅ PomPom has discovered something pretty wonderful: the world wasn’t ending—her new life was just beginning. ❤️

Introducing the Belcher family of the dog world! Bob, the proud Border Terrier “Dad,” and Linda, the endearing Yorkshire Terrier/Wired-Haired Dachshund mix, hold the family together with love, patience, and a little cute chaos. The two of them share their Wire-haired Terrier puppies, Louise and Tina, each with a personality of their own. Louis, the tiny mastermind, has the attitude, the confidence, and, definitely, a plan. “This is my hat.” Tina is sweet, quirky, and wonderfully cuddly. Together, they are cute as can be! After coming into our program, these two received a necessary bath and flea/tick treatment. It’s hard to believe, but even at such a young age, they came to us infested with fleas. You might notice a few spots from their infestation that will soon heal. They may not run a burger restaurant, but they’ve definitely got a full menu of personality! So, order up (one or two pups)!

Hay Dude Equine Rescue is a foster-based rescue in Texas. All of our dogs live in foster homes in TX and are transported to their new states once adopted. All adopters must be 21+. Applications can be found at haydudeequine.org. Meet Darla! 🩷 Hi, I’m Darla, a 3-year-old, 13-pound little sweetheart who is looking for someone to love me forever! I was found as a stray in New Mexico, and while I’m not sure how I ended up on my own, I’m pretty sure I was meant to end up in someone’s lap. ❤️ We think I’m a Cairn Terrier/Parson’s Terrier mix, and I’m basically the perfect combination of cute, cuddly, and just a little bit scruffy! My head is wonderfully soft and non-shedding, while my back has that adorable wiry terrier coat that sheds a little—so apparently I couldn’t decide which hairstyle I wanted and went with both. 😂 I’m very sweet and loving, and one of my favorite things in the whole world is snuggling with my people. I can be a little nervous when I first meet someone new, but give me just a little time and I’ll warm up quickly. Once I know you’re a friend, I’m all about the love! I’m also very good with other dogs. I have a submissive, easygoing personality and would happily share my space with canine friends. If you’re looking for a small companion with a big heart, a love for snuggles, and an adorable little terrier face, Darla might just be your girl. 🥰

Story
Meet Timmy! 🐾 Timmy is a 7-month-old, 21-pound Jack Russell Terrier blend with a sweetheart and a gentle soul. His story began when he, his mom, and his siblings were abandoned in a backyard. Thankfully, a caring neighbor reached out for help, giving this little family a chance at a better life. Timmy came into foster care with two of his siblings, who have since found their forever homes. Now it's Timmy's turn! Timmy absolutely loves other dogs, and a home with a confident canine companion is a must for him. Having another dog around helps him feel secure and brings out his playful side. Once he's comfortable, Timmy loves to play hard, act silly, hand out kisses, and show off the wonderful personality hidden beneath his initial shy exterior. Timmy is naturally cautious with new people and situations. He takes time to trust and needs a family that understands that relationships are built with positive reinforcement. The kisses are definitely worth earning! He recently completed three weeks of summer camp training and made tremendous progress, showing just how much potential he has when given patience, guidance, and understanding. His foster mom describes him as incredibly loving and super sweet. Despite being shy and unsure in new situations, Timmy has never once growled or shown any type of aggression. When he feels safe, his affectionate and happy nature shines through. Timmy needs that very special home—one that truly understands him and appreciates him for who he is. His cautious nature isn't something that will magically disappear, he simply needs people who will meet him where he is and help him continue building confidence. In return, you'll get to watch a shy dog blossom and learn the world isn't out to get him! In his foster home, Timmy has been a very very good well-behaved boy and is loved beyond measure. We know his perfect family is out there—someone willing to give him the time, patience, and encouragement he deserves. If you're looking for a sweet companion and understand that the best relationships take time to grow, Timmy may be the perfect match for you. Once you're part of his trusted circle, you'll have a devoted friend for life.

Meet Sidney! 🐾 Sidney is a 1-year-old, 10-pound Jack Russell Terrier blend who has officially decided that being sad is overrated. She was owner-surrendered through absolutely no fault of her own, so when she first arrived, she wasn't quite sure what to think. For a few days, she gave us the classic "I'll just quietly judge everyone from over here" look. But then she remembered something very important... She's a terrier, and a Jack Russell one at that! (Maybe some chihuahua thrown in for good measure) What was she thinking? Her tail has started to wag, and there is no doubt, her adorable smile will be on full display in no time! We truly believe after a few days in your home, that fun, happy, "let's see what's happening over there!" personality that Jack Russell fans know and love will shine through! Sidney has the sweetest eyes and heart wrapped up in a tiny 10-pound package. She's ready to leave the past where it belongs. All she needs now is a family who appreciates that this sweet girl needs just a little warm up period and to help her to remember who she is, a happy young pup that has the rest of her life ahead of her! If your house could use more smiles, more tail wags and love, then Sidney is ready to apply for the position.
