Story
Summertime is here! And with this warm weather our good-looking boy Cadbury insisted we add swimming to his bio! He is loving the pool and then sunning himself with pride! This adorable little guy deserves all the best! Poor thing was surrendered back to the rescue basically because he was too active. They medicated him, after evaluation we find nothing unusual about this cute, chocolatey scruffy guy. All his characteristics are normal of a dog of a year and half. He actually is so easy going. Fun loving, sweet with everyone, doing good with other dogs and ready for a family to love him like he should be. Cadbury is sweet and people focused. Loves to come get pets. He is playful and energetic but settles in your lap for loves after getting his zoomies out. He is smaller in stature, perfect size. All Dallas Dog adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. You can complete an application or view all the adoptable pets on our website at www.dallasdog.org/adopt. Upon receiving your application, please allow us 2-3 business days to review and process.

Story
Lexie has been part of our household for 5 years and brought us so much joy. We recently became homeowners, our eldest dog entered her twilight years, and we had a baby – after these changes we have watched Lexie’s quality of life decline due to our now limited attention. Lexie is an amazing shadow. She is cuddly, loves pets, listens well, and is adorable. She likes taking baths and walks. She does tricks and is food motivated. Our problems with her are due to our limited bandwidth which include her stealing food and objects when left unattended and her being protective. Previously protectiveness was not a problem, she will bark at strangers that get too close on a walk and bark when the doorbell rings. She is easily redirected – we tell her thank you to acknowledge that we heard her and she stops. As a woman, I felt safer having her around. She has nipped a friend that entered our house unannounced. She is fiercely loyal and loving. We are heart broken that we are no longer deserving.

Story
Col. Potter Cairn Terrier Rescue www.cairnrescue.comZap is 13 years 10 months old and has a level 4 heart murmur. This condition makes loud noises seem intense and unenjoyable. Zap will scurry and scuttle his way to safety whenever he feels threatened. If in public, he may freeze so you should be ready to scoop him up. Zap has a younger Foster sister doggo who is very patient and knows not to make too much noise with her stuffies. He loves to play with her because she is so submissive and yes, he is a secret alpha. When he hears his treats, he will come running out and devour the heart medication hiding inside. He takes 5 pills in the morning and 6 at night. The pills make him pee, a lot, so he loves to have lots of water bowls nearby. You may see his sock monkey near one of his water bowls. He will love and defend his sock monkey as he knows these are his dog-given rights. He’s not much for walks, but he’s happy to be carried and weighs a whopping 13.4 lbs. He is stable albeit he will always have an heart murmur, and most days he uses the puppy pads.FOR LOTS MORE INFORMATION ON ZAP ENTER OR COPY THIS LINK ONTO YOUR WEB BROWSER:https://www.cairnrescue.com/store/dogs/ Zap is being fostered in Ft.
