Story
Rio is a distinguished gentleman. He’s a 5 year, neutered, Wirehaired Pointing Griffon. He’s pretty neutral to other dogs in public with a little space, but will need more work on this. I provide free training support to get him settled and continue his progress. He may be able to have some dog pals in the future with enough work, & possibly can be acclimated to cats due to low prey drive. Rio loves to cuddle but also has a sense of independence, so he’s not clingy. He’s always ready to play! We really think that he’d love a home with children, he’s done fantastic with them coming and going in his pet sitter’s house. Rio is very smart and is a quick learner. He comes with free training support, obedience and tricks. He knows that people count on him for unconditional love and laugher. Will you be his new family?

Story
WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org 🌸🐾 Meet Carli — Calm, Confident, and Full of Heart 🐾🌸 2 Years Old • 35 lbs • Schnauzer/Terrier Mix • Spayed Carli is the kind of dog who walks into a room and immediately makes everything feel a little more peaceful. At 2 years old and 35 pounds, she’s the perfect medium-sized companion with a calm, confident personality and a heart that’s always open for her people. Carli absolutely adores humans of all sizes — kids, adults, visitors, you name it. She loves being part of the family and has a gentle, steady presence that makes her a joy to live with. She’s affectionate without being demanding and always seems to know when it’s time for a walk… and when it’s time to relax. 🐶 Carli’s “Just Right” Qualities: ✔️ Housebroken and crate trained ✔️ Dog-door savvy (she’s very independent like that) ✔️ Walks beautifully on a leash ✔️ Calm, easygoing, and well-mannered ✔️ Up-to-date on vaccines and spayed When it comes to canine friends, Carli prefers dogs her size or larger (35 lbs and up). She can be a little bossy with smaller pups — think “loving middle manager,” not troublemaker 😄 — but with appropriately matched dog buddies, she does great. She’d also be perfectly happy as your one-and-only, soaking up all the love herself. Carli enjoys her walks and fresh air, but she’s not a whirlwind of energy. Her ideal day includes a nice stroll, some quality time with her people, and then relaxing at home, preferably somewhere cozy where she can keep an eye on things. If you’re looking for a sweet, steady, and loving companion who brings warmth, calm, and just a touch of sass to your life, Carli might be the missing piece you didn’t know you needed. 👉 Apply today at haydudeequine.org and let Carli show you just how comforting the right dog can be 🐾💕

Story
Toffee is a 3.5–4-month-old, 20lb puppy, who’s all legs, sweetness, and curiosity. She’s a fun, gentle girl with a naturally shy side, but her confidence grows more each day as she learns about the world around her. She’s currently thriving in a busy foster home with two female resident dogs, three cats, and two teenagers ... she’s handling the everyday chaos beautifully. Toffee is doing great with both house-training and crate-training, and she absolutely loves playing with other dogs. Because Toffee takes cues from confident pups, she will do best in a home with a friendly, well-adjusted dog companion who can help show her the ropes. She’s still learning polite manners with cats (she’s more playful than they prefer), but she’s eager to please and making steady progress with guidance. Toffee is a loving, thoughtful puppy who will blossom in a patient home that can continue building her confidence and helping her shine. Please contact Caitlin Finn (caitlin.finn@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.handsome young boy ISO happily ever after! HT NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!!   Come meet HT and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (Feb. 8th) from 12-3 pm at the PetSmart in Rockville (5154 Nicholson Ln, Kensington, MD 20895)!     Name:  HT       Best Guess for Breed:   Pointer mix  Best Guess for Age:  6 years as of January 2026         SEX:   Male   Approximate Weight:  67 lbs   Gets Along With:  HT likes other dogs and needs to go to a home with a friendly resident dog. We haven't seen him with cats but are happy to discuss integration techniques with any interested adopters. HT should not go to a home with children under the age of 12.   Currently Living at:  DC area home   Special adoption considerations:    HT can be a little nervous and needs to go to a home with a welcoming resident dog who will show him that all is well!   All about HT:   HT arrived into our care back in 2020 and was adopted out to a loving home. He has been very well taken care of! His previous humans say he's a sweetie who really likes being around his people. In the home, he's a good boy whose crate is his safe space. He returns to his crate on command with 'Time for bed,' and sleeps there overnight. He also stayed in his crate when his humans were out of the house.   He loves his walkies! Likes to pull a bit ahead, taking in all the scenery. He doesn't react to other dogs or people - maybe a quick sniff but that's it. Off leash with other dogs, he likes playing chase and running. Wrestling and roughhousing isn't his thing - he prefers open play. (He would not be the best fit for a home with a resident dog who likes rough play.)   He is long out of the puppy yips and knows what he loves - walks, adventures, his people, a chill home, a friendly resident dog who will show him the ropes, his people. And don't forget his people. He is eager to once again love and be loved, to bestow upon his people all those adoring gazes he's stockpiling. What do you say? Is HT the one you see by your side?
