TANK IS LOOKING FOR A VERY SPECIAL ADOPTER THAT MATCHES THE CRITERIA OUTLINED BELOWTank is a senior terrier mix breed who is looking for a very specific home. Ideally we would place Tank with a single male in a quiet home who is home a lot or can take Tank with him. We think that Tank would love to be a great sidekick for someone who lives in the country and putters - gardening, workshop, maintenance work. If there is more than one person in the home, everyone will need to reinforce a consistent structure and discipline for Tank, otherwise he may slip into bad behaviours. We will not place Tank in a home with dogs or cats or with children or frequent young visitors. Tank would thrive in a quiet calm home with no or very few visitors and with a fully fenced yard. If Tank's adopters had a good understanding of how to manage a dog who resource guards that would be a significant plus for everyone!· Live in a quiet neighbourhood with someone who is home more than not · Home with a fully fenced yard· Single person or a couple that will reinforce consistent structure for Tank· Experienced owner with resource guarding experience an asset· No other pets, no children and few visitors in the homeTank should improve with a person who is prepared to continue working with him on his behaviour quirks. Right now Tank is living in a training facility in the Peterborough area. ELLIE" is a POINTER MIX, about 4 years old and weights aprox. 25 kg. "ELLIE" was saved by Anastasia herself who believed the dog to be pregnant so she picked her up from the street in order to have our vet check her out and then bring her to our sanctuary to safely deliver her babies. But the stop at our vet proved that "ELLIE" was simply fat. Needless to say that Anastasia did not return the dog to that area but brought her in to our sanctuary where she's been loved and cared for ever since. Anastasia found out later that a woman in that neighborhood in order to keep the strays around her house as a security system kept overfeeding them with all the wrong things.. "ELLIE" is a picture of health. And with the proper diet, food and exercise she lost all excess weight and is now perfectly fit! She is also fully vetted and vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed. In addition she has been housebroken and leash trained. "ELLIE" is quite human centered. She immediately hits it off with strangers and absolutely adores to be petted. She is also very food oriented and easily trainable. She is social with other dogs, but very eclectic and choosy when it comes to playmates. "ELLIE" would be happy in any sort of family. DUKE is a POINTER MIX, 4 years old and weights approx 24kg. "DUKE" was found by a SPFG friend who was out in the woods with her dog. He was unconscious and starved almost to death, just skin on bones. He was one of the countless puppies hunters abandon when they discover they can't use them or sell them for hunting or breeding. Anastasia took him straight to our vet and called us. After a long phase of convalescence, followed a long period of recuperation; but now "DUKE" is a picture of health, fully vetted and vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered, also housebroken and leash trained. "DUKE" is an absolutely carefree boy who just loves everyone and everything, dogs, cats, people, strangers, bees, toads, car rides, doctors, butterflies, food. He gets excited seeing his friends even after a 5 min parting. He is curious, inquisitive and as a hunting dog has unlimited energy outdoors, whereas he calms inside. "DUKE" is a sensitive boy, very affectionate who needs gentle handling. He would be happy in any type of family, if he has ways to spend all that energy. I am Emma, an energetic Pointer mix aged 3. I am a lovely girl with warm heart and brightness. However, people did not know me, and I was on the list of euthanasia at the city shelter. Fortunately, a kind rescuer saved me, and here I am. Now, I am sooooo ready to meet my lovy dovy happy family. I am very bright girl with full of charming energy. I love people’s attention and being petted. On the spot of meeting new people, my tail does not stop wagging and my ears get flat with happiness. My handler said that it was so difficult to take a picture of me with proper ear shape because they got flat all the time when I was with people. I really enjoy being companion with people and I assertively approach to them to be petted. If you rub my belly, I will melt down immediately for more petting. I am very good with new doggie friends. I usually say hi gently to them and then, just mind my own business. I can share treats with them and smell out each other to get to know. Though I am more interested in people and exploring new environments. Outdoor activities and exercising are my favorite things. As I am a Pointer, I need to consume my energy properly. Otherwise, I may get stressed out. I also need to take my potty break outside, so regular strolling is essential for me. I may get excited when I go for walk and pull on leash a bit but this should be settle down soon with some training, for sure. If you need a companion who can enjoy a lot of energetic activities together, I am here for you. :D If you see me, you will instantly realize how adorable I am.
