Story
Animal Profile: Marley is a 4-year-old, 60 lb neutered male mixed breed (DNA test showed German Shorthaired Pointer, Lab, Pitbull). He came to us as a puppy and was adopted but returned several years later due to anxiety around the young toddler in the home. Marley is friendly with other dogs but he has exhibited prey drive with the cats in his foster home, so we will not be considering homes with cats. He is discerning with new people but not reactive and  is a loyal companion to his people.. He is nervous with small children who don't respect his space. He is house trained, crate trained, and has good basic obedience training. We will share more as we get to know him in foster care.  Adopter Profile: Other dogs OK (not required) Dog-savvy older kids considered Fenced yard preferred Large breed experience  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550, which includes spay/neuter, current rabies/DAPPV/bordetella vaccinations, microchip, health certificate, and heartworm test. All adoption fees are donations to a Washington non-profit corporation and all donations go to benefit the animals in our rescue.  Apply online at www.DogGoneSeattle.org Animal History: This dog was rescued from Texas as a puppy and adopted after a short stint in foster care. He was returned several years later due to failure to acclimate to the toddler boy in the home. He is currently being fostered in the greater Seattle area and available for adoption. September 4, 2026, 4:05 pm

Story
PLEASE NOTE! WE ARE A TEXAS-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY IN TEXAS AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED TO YOUR STATE ONCE ADOPTED. Our adoption application can be found at haydudeequine.org. Meet Smee! Ahoy! I'm Smee, and just like my namesake from Peter Pan, I'm on the hunt for my very own Captain Hook... except I'm hoping mine comes with treats, belly rubs, and a forever home! Born in November 2025 and weighing around 70 pounds, I'm a big, goofy puppy with the sweetest heart. People say I look like a little cow—not just because of my adorable black-and-white markings, but because I'm built like one too! My size might be impressive, but I'm really just a gentle giant who wants to be close to my people. If there's one thing you should know about me, it's that I LOVE water. Kiddie pools, stock tanks, puddles—you name it! My favorite pastime is climbing into a water tank, sinking down until I'm completely submerged, and leaving just my eyes above the surface like a little alligator. It's guaranteed to make you laugh. When I'm not making a splash, you'll usually find me carrying around a toy or convincing someone to play a game of tug-of-war. I get along great with other dogs and love having canine friends, but if you ask me what I love most, the answer is easy: people. I'm the definition of a loyal companion. I'll happily rest my big head on your shoulder or in your lap, soaking up all the love you're willing to give. Even though I'm still a puppy (which means I have the occasional silly puppy moment), I'm surprisingly laid-back and easygoing. I'm also working hard on my potty training, and I'm doing a fantastic job! I'm eager to learn and even more eager to make my family proud. If you're looking for a happy, affectionate, water-loving best friend with a heart as big as he is, then I just might be your perfect first mate. All I need now is a family to call my own. Could you be the Captain Hook I've been searching for?

Story
Animal Information: May was found abandoned in an orchard in Eastern Washington with her three puppies, Lola, Bonita, and Bonny. Thankfully, our friends at Yakima Valley Pet Rescue brought the little family to safety. She weighs 42lbs and is estimated to be around 2 years old. Since being rescued, May has been friendly with both people and other dogs. She's been staying in a temporary foster home in Yakima with several other dogs and has done well with everyone she's met. As a German Shorthaired Pointer, May will do best with an active family that can provide the exercise, training, and mental stimulation her breed needs. We're looking forward to getting to know her better as she settles in and helping her find the right forever home. Foster Profile: Calling all GSP lovers! May is an active friendly girl waiting for a family to call her own. She loves all people and dogs she meets and is not shy when warming up to new people. She also knows how to read the room if another dog is not interested in playing with her and she carries on with her business. She is fairly active and loves to play and run but has an off switch and is always down for some snuggles. She is working on leash training and will benefit from continued training and structure to help her learn the ropes. She seems mostly disinterested in the cats she has met while out on walks so she will likely do well in a home with a kitty sibling, further cat testing can be done upon request. She will be an ok apartment dog if her family is committed to meeting her exercise needs. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations Rabies and DPPV per AVMA standards, heartworm test if indicated, microchip with lifetime registration, and recent health check with a veterinarian. Adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 organization (ID 81-5101166).  Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was transferred from Yakima Valley Pet Rescue, WA. Arriving in foster care 8/4/26. She will be available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.September 4, 2026, 4:05 pm
