PLEASE NOTE! WE ARE A TEXAS-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY IN TEXAS AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED TO YOUR STATE ONCE ADOPTED. Our adoption application can be found at haydudeequine.org. Meet Smee! Ahoy! I'm Smee, and just like my namesake from Peter Pan, I'm on the hunt for my very own Captain Hook... except I'm hoping mine comes with treats, belly rubs, and a forever home! Born in November 2025 and weighing around 70 pounds, I'm a big, goofy puppy with the sweetest heart. People say I look like a little cow—not just because of my adorable black-and-white markings, but because I'm built like one too! My size might be impressive, but I'm really just a gentle giant who wants to be close to my people. If there's one thing you should know about me, it's that I LOVE water. Kiddie pools, stock tanks, puddles—you name it! My favorite pastime is climbing into a water tank, sinking down until I'm completely submerged, and leaving just my eyes above the surface like a little alligator. It's guaranteed to make you laugh. When I'm not making a splash, you'll usually find me carrying around a toy or convincing someone to play a game of tug-of-war. I get along great with other dogs and love having canine friends, but if you ask me what I love most, the answer is easy: people. I'm the definition of a loyal companion. I'll happily rest my big head on your shoulder or in your lap, soaking up all the love you're willing to give. Even though I'm still a puppy (which means I have the occasional silly puppy moment), I'm surprisingly laid-back and easygoing. I'm also working hard on my potty training, and I'm doing a fantastic job! I'm eager to learn and even more eager to make my family proud. If you're looking for a happy, affectionate, water-loving best friend with a heart as big as he is, then I just might be your perfect first mate. All I need now is a family to call my own. Could you be the Captain Hook I've been searching for?

Story
Marvin is a sweet and noble dog, 1.5 years old and 30 pounds. He was hanging around the shelter for a couple of weeks, he was given food, water and some love, but we decided to take him in when he arrived really injured and covered in blood, we think he was attacked by dogs. Fortunately in his medical checkup he didn't come out with many problems, and he is now healthy and ready for his new home! He knows how to coexist with other dogs, although he has his temper, he is usually very tolerant with effusive puppies. He likes to sleep in his giant bed, is crate-trained, house-trained and is sociable and friendly with new people. He knows how to ride in a car, and smiles when you scold him, he is adorable! We don't know exactly what breed he is, google lens finds a resemblance to an English Pointer and Andalusian ratter. The $550.00 adoption fee covers the following: Transport to Oregon or Washington. Spay/Neuter. All vaccines up to date. Deworming (puppies 2 sets). Flea medication up to date. Tick control up to date. Microchip. Microchip registration to new owner paid for. Collar. Temporary leash.

Story
Animal Profile: Marley is a 4-year-old, 60 lb neutered male mixed breed (DNA test showed German Shorthaired Pointer, Lab, Pitbull). He came to us as a puppy and was adopted but returned several years later due to anxiety around the young toddler in the home. Marley is friendly with other dogs but he has exhibited prey drive with the cats in his foster home, so we will not be considering homes with cats. He is discerning with new people but not reactive and  is a loyal companion to his people.. He is nervous with small children who don't respect his space. He is house trained, crate trained, and has good basic obedience training. We will share more as we get to know him in foster care.  Adopter Profile: Other dogs OK (not required) Dog-savvy older kids considered Fenced yard preferred Large breed experience  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550, which includes spay/neuter, current rabies/DAPPV/bordetella vaccinations, microchip, health certificate, and heartworm test. All adoption fees are donations to a Washington non-profit corporation and all donations go to benefit the animals in our rescue.  Apply online at www.DogGoneSeattle.org Animal History: This dog was rescued from Texas as a puppy and adopted after a short stint in foster care. He was returned several years later due to failure to acclimate to the toddler boy in the home. He is currently being fostered in the greater Seattle area and available for adoption. August 7, 2026, 10:53 pm

Story
Animal Information: Lola, Bonny, and Bonita were found as strays with their mom, a purebred German Shorthaired Pointer, after being abandoned in an orchard in Eastern Washington. Thankfully, our friends at Yakima Valley Pet Rescue stepped in to bring them to safety. Despite their rough start, these girls are incredibly sweet, affectionate, and have wonderful temperaments. They have soulful, expressive eyes, are smart and eager to learn, and genuinely enjoy connecting with people. Without a rescue stepping in, they would have received basic veterinary care and then been returned to the area where they were found. We knew they deserved so much more than that. We're thrilled to welcome these pups into foster care, where they'll have the chance to grow, gain confidence, and prepare for the loving forever homes they deserve here in the Pacific Northwest. Foster Profile: Bonny  is a very energetic and playful girl. She loves playing chase with my large dog. She's quite the social butterfly and likes everyone. She isn't intimidated by much but needs a minute to warm up to larger dogs. Bonny is very smart and had potty training, and the doggie door figured out by day two. She will regress and need additional potty training once she no longer has the dog door, but should catch on quickly if taken out for regular breaks. She's not as excited about leash training and will need some dedicated training to help her along, but she's a smart girl and will catch on quickly with the right training. She's perfectly comfortable in her crate and likes long naps there with her toys. She cries briefly when we go to bed but generally sleeps through the night, but will cry very loudly to let you know she needs a potty break. Her favorite things are stretching out in the sun for belly rubs and playing with her toys.  While she loves being outside, she is very curious and wants to explore every room in the house. It's been challenging to keep her off furniture or from jumping up on people and other dogs. She is a funny girl and makes me laugh often at her antics. She's truly a joy, and I think she will only get more loving as she grows. Bonny is going to be a big girl, we are looking for a single family home with a securely fenced yard (a playful canine companion would be a bonus). Previous large breed experience is preferred.  She will need a family dedicated to training and socializing. If your looking for your next adventure partner she may be your girl.  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations Rabies and DPPV per AVMA standards, heartworm test if indicated, microchip with lifetime registration, and recent health check with a veterinarian. Adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 organization (ID 81-5101166).  Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was transferred from Yakima Valley Pet Rescue, WA. Arriving in foster care 8/1/26. She will be available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.August 7, 2026, 10:53 pm
