FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED! Calliope is one of our long-timers, and has been waiting for a foster or her forever home with us for 3 years! She is an energetic and playful girl and will make her forever family very happy! Calliope is a Pointer/Labrador Retriever mix, she weighs around 60 lbs and is ~4 years old. Calliope is active, and she will need a family that can keep her properly exercised. She loves the outdoors, and would make a great hiking or running partner! She would love her very own fenced yard to run and play with her family. Calliope is very sweet and can get over excited, especially in a kennel environment, she will thrive in a home that can provide continued support of basic obedience and working on not jumping when excited. Because she is large and jumpy, we are recommending no small children as she could accidently knock them over. Calliope has been doing great on walks with other dog friends in our care. She is not tested with cats. Calliope is spayed, microchipped and up to date on her vaccinations. Her adoption fee is $450.

Story
Marvin is a sweet and noble dog, 1.5 years old and 30 pounds. He was hanging around the shelter for a couple of weeks, he was given food, water and some love, but we decided to take him in when he arrived really injured and covered in blood, we think he was attacked by dogs. Fortunately in his medical checkup he didn't come out with many problems, and he is now healthy and ready for his new home! He knows how to coexist with other dogs, although he has his temper, he is usually very tolerant with effusive puppies. He likes to sleep in his giant bed, is crate-trained, house-trained and is sociable and friendly with new people. He knows how to ride in a car, and smiles when you scold him, he is adorable! We don't know exactly what breed he is, google lens finds a resemblance to an English Pointer and Andalusian ratter. The $550.00 adoption fee covers the following: Transport to Oregon or Washington. Spay/Neuter. All vaccines up to date. Deworming (puppies 2 sets). Flea medication up to date. Tick control up to date. Microchip. Microchip registration to new owner paid for. Collar. Temporary leash.

Meet Oliver, he is an 8-month old, Pointer Pit. He is house trained, fix, chipped, and vax’d. We got him 6 months ago with the intention of him being a lifelong family member. He is very smart, super sweet, and will make a wonderful protector. He is great on a leash, and is friendly around other dogs. The one challenge we have been running into however is that he has developed a habit of nipping at peoples feet, mainly children. While these aren’t bites, but we cannot seem to break him if the habit. And through circumstances outside of our control, we must unfortunately rehome home Oliver as a result. Given proper time and training, we are certain Oliver will make a wonderful family pet for the proper family. Perhaps this family has older children and a secured yard to help make sure Oliver is successful in his new, forever home.

LUCKILY, the fates (and some awesome rescue folks) aligned and saved me from certain death and brought me to a safe place where I can find a REAL family and a REAL home. Animal Profile: Marley is a 4-year-old, 60 lb neutered male mixed breed (DNA test showed German Shorthaired Pointer, Lab, Pitbull). He came to us as a puppy and was adopted but returned several years later due to anxiety around the young toddler in the home. Marley is friendly with other dogs but he has exhibited prey drive with the cats in his foster home, so we will not be considering homes with cats. He is discerning with new people but not reactive and  is a loyal companion to his people.. He is nervous with small children who don't respect his space. He is house trained, crate trained, and has good basic obedience training. We will share more as we get to know him in foster care.  Adopter Profile: Other dogs OK (not required) Dog-savvy older kids considered Fenced yard preferred Large breed experience  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550, which includes spay/neuter, current rabies/DAPPV/bordetella vaccinations, microchip, health certificate, and heartworm test. All adoption fees are donations to a Washington non-profit corporation and all donations go to benefit the animals in our rescue.  Apply online at www.DogGoneSeattle.org Animal History: This dog was rescued from Texas as a puppy and adopted after a short stint in foster care.
