Story
I am in a foster home and not at the shelter. If you are interested in adopting, submit an adoption questionnaire by email. Learn more hereHi, I’m Xipe—a 35-lb, 1-year-old Xoloitzcuintle (that’s a fancy name for a Mexican Hairless pup), and I’m on a journey to find a forever home where I can feel safe and loved. I’ll be honest—I’m a little shy. If you approach me too fast, I might freeze up because the world still feels a bit overwhelming sometimes. But underneath that nervous exterior, I promise there’s a playful, loving pup just waiting to shine. I do my best when I have a confident, social dog friend around to show me the ropes—and some patient humans who are willing to go at my pace. The good news? I’m a quick learner, especially when there are treats involved! I already know cues like “sit,” “leave it,” “house,” “couch,” and working on “four-on-floor.” I even like my crate—it’s my cozy little space where I can relax with my favorite toys. Right now, I’m living in a foster home with four cats and three dogs. I really enjoy their company—especially playing chase or hide-and-seek with my doggie buddies or chilling next to my feline pals. If you’ve got a calm, nurturing home and you’re ready to help me keep growing with positive reinforcement and patience, I’ll do my part to keep blossoming into the joyful, trusting dog I’m meant to be. Could you be the one I’ve been waiting for? I’m ready to give my heart to someone who sees me for who I truly am.   Follow Xipe's adventures in foster with @gordas_oas_gang_of_fosters on Instagram! Story
Hola, amigos! Allow us to introduce you to Pepe y Pita, the cutest, chonkiest, and most charming senior dog duo you’ll ever meet! These two might be a bit shy at first, but once they warm up, they’ll shower you with love, belly rubs, and laughter. Pepe, 12 years old and 19 lbs, is a laid-back Chihuahua with a long, chonky body and a relaxed attitude. Though reserved at first, once he feels comfortable, he’s all about attention, pets, and chin scratches. He’s a leash pro, enjoying slow strolls in the sun with his adventurous sidekick, Pita. Pita, 9 years old and 14 lbs, is the life of the party, with a smile that lights up any room and ears that can’t be missed. Her playful and fiery spirit brings out the best in Pepe, encouraging him to have fun and make new friends. Together, they’re a heartwarming duo full of love, laughs, and sweet moments. Whether snuggling or basking in attention, Pepe and Pita are the perfect pair to welcome into your home. Ready to be charmed by their wiggly walks, adorable smiles, and endless love? The adventure with Pepe and Pita is just beginning! Vamos! Here's some notes from their foster: Pita and Pepe are a really smiley pair of pups! They adore pets, cuddles, belly scritches, treats, and each other. Pita is immediately affectionate, filled with doggie kisses, and is a fabulous lap dog. Her favorite thing is laying in my lap on her back and having her belly scratched. Pepe takes a bit longer to warm up, but is affectionate, too. Both doggies share the sweet habit of wrapping their legs around my arm so that I keep petting them. They are relaxed and quiet work from home companions but can be a bit barky meeting new dogs, although I think they are just saying hello, and they are fine (maybe a bit indifferent) to our three cats. They do not have any problems being left alone at least provided that they are together. There’s always a nap to take! Pita and Pepe enjoy car rides, being outdoors, and taking slow walks with tons of time to sniff everything (over and over again). They present as being in overall good health and can probably walk for any distance provided that you have the time to accommodate lots of sniffing :-) . They are champions of stairs and use a ramp to get on and off my higher than average bed. As an added bonus they are both reliably potty trained. It’s been really fabulous hosting Pita and Pepe. I believe they will do well in a relaxed home with or without furry friends. They are such a fun, amazing and adorable pair!
