Hi People, My name is Blissful Benji and I’m a cuddly, cute, comical and clever little guy who is easy to fall in love with. My foster Mom and Dad say I’m almost perfect. I’m about a year old, weigh only 7.4 pounds and my BFK Aunties think I’m a ‘Morkie’ (a Maltese/Yorkie mix.) I’m very, very puppy-like. That means I’m curious, lovable and playful! Mom says I do what she calls my ‘morning shenanigans.’ If you wonder what that looks like well, I’m known to grab a toy and toss it around the house followed by doing the Zoomies. There is no doubt that I’m as cute as I can be and every bit an energetic pup. Dad says I’m quite adventurous and consistently demonstrate my puppy spirit. He says if I’m quiet, you’d better see what I’m up to! Did I mention that I love shoes and socks! I like to ‘find’ them and bring them to my play area. I’m learning about walks (I’m working up to longer walks to build my confidence) and rides in the car (I’m a great co-pilot). I am also learning commands (I already know ‘sit’, ‘come’ and my name), and am almost housebroken. I like other dogs but my doggy foster brothers are older so they are not captivated with my puppy energy. I’m thinking another pup closer in age and size might be a good fit for me. Most of all I’m playful (did I mention that?), learning the joy of toys, am a total cuddlebug and lap dog. Did I mention that I’m a pup who loves to play, rarely barks and likes to have people give me pets and belly rubs? That’s the kind of pup I am! My Ideal Home: *Someone home most of the time *Another active, playful small dog around my age *A pup who can show me the ropes *Adults or a family with older kids as I’m so small Experience level: *Have had dogs as an adult *Recent/current dog experience a plus After a day of playing, exploring, walking and learning new things, I settle down in the Big People’s Bed and sleep quietly all through the night. Pika's personality can be described as: a cat in a dog's body. He is beautiful but only allows you to pet him on his terms, which is rarely. He grumbles/growls when affection is unwanted and retreats to his crate. He loves laying in the shade. Pika will tolerate dog's in the house but will go after outsiders on/off leash. He takes medication for allergies and she has a collapsing trachea. Pika is potty trained but still needs a belly band indoors to avoid occasional marking. He will do best in a quiet serene setting so not to aggravate his cough by barking. He has lameness in his back legs which cause him to occasionally stumble and fall when walking. She gives kisses freely. She is visually impaired but she can see shadows. The adopter would need to be careful with stairs and screen doors as they are troublesome for her. She gets along with everyone. She enjoys walking with dogs who assist in guiding her along the way. She has lumps and bumps and is an old gal who is just looking for a friend to spend her best years with. She likes human food and is a little scavenger (seems she may have spent some time on the streets, homeless). This little girl is quiet and so full of love. *This is a courtesy listing.* Meet Theo! Theo was adopted in 2016 when he was 2 years old. Now 9, he has struggled to adjust to the attentions of the toddler in his family. Theo loves people but is understandably wary of small children that give him too much affection or chase, pull on, or hit him. His reaction is to growl and snap, and there have been two bite incidents involving the toddler that did not break the skin. Theo's family loves him, but after much consideration, and with another baby is on the way, they have made the difficult decision to rehome him. Theo's family describes him as an absolutely wonderful dog with adults (and older, mature children) and is so loving and sweet.  He enjoys going for walks and is up for longer distances, if you are! Theo is in good health and is not on any medications. He is potty trained and used to going out about every six hours. Theo has been around cats, chickens, and other dogs. With cats, he barks and chases, but once he is up close, he just sniffs. He is fine with the chickens in his backyard. With other dogs, after the initial meet and sniff, he prefers if they don't get too close and will growl to let them know his boundaries.
