ATTENTION:  All of our dogs are in private foster homes.  We do NOT have a kennel with multiple dogs.  If you find a dog you want to meet in person, please go to www.secondchancedogrescue.org and complete an application.    We will make every attempt to process all applications within 3 business days of receipt. // // Meet Willamina (“Willa” for short). Willa is a very sweet Yorkie mix ready for her furever family. She is 15lbs and 4.5 years old. Willa is an affectionate and energetic pup. She wants nothing more than to sit in your lap, or next to you on the couch, or lie in her bed and have you rub her belly. She is great with all adults and children.  Willa is crate trained and doesn’t mind sleeping in her crate (ideally in your bedroom). She is working on potty training and knows to do her business outside when taken out. She still needs to learn how to ask to go out. Willa was very hungry in her recent life so she can get a little intense around food. If there is another dog in the house she will eat their food and get protective over her own. For this reason (and because she likes to be the center of attention), she would likely do best in a house where she is the only dog. However, with additional attention, she can live with another dog as she gets along with other dogs for the most part. Willa is happy to calmly sleep for much of the day but can also have bursts of energy. She enjoys chasing a ball outside and loves to take walks. She will need to work on her leash skills as she currently pulls a lot so needs someone who can hold her leash firmly on walks. She is a smart and trainable girl and very much wants to please her human. Willa is good in the car and is ok to be left alone for short periods of time. However, because she craves being close to humans, she would prefer a home where she won’t be left alone too much. Willa will be the sweetest companion for her furever family. She is spayed, micro-chipped and up to date on all vaccinations.  Her adoption fee is $300.  All Second Chance Dog Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, are up to date on vaccines and have microchips prior to adoption.   Adoption fees vary depending on age of dog. Fees help Second Chance Dog Rescue cover spay/neuter costs,   vaccinations, medical treatments, food and supplies. Please go to  www.secondchancedogrescue.org  and complete an application today!    All dogs live in private foster homes until they are adopted.  April 22, 2025, 9:53 pm

Story
Cody is a young purebred Yorkie Terrier full of personality and charm. He absolutely loves playing with balls, squeaky toys, and chew bones, but his favorite thing of all is cuddling. This sweet little guy is the ultimate snuggle bug and will happily curl up in a ball right on your lap. We believe he is under 3 years old. He is currently in the process of being potty trained. Cody gets along with other dogs when off-leash and enjoys socializing, but he can be hyperactive on-leash and vocal. We have introduced him to crate training (as our other dog is crate trained), but he’s still adjusting. Cody would thrive with an experienced dog owner who is willing to work with him and possibly enroll him in obedience training. He would do well in a home with adults and older children. He is incredibly affectionate and eager to please, he just needs the time and attention he deserves.
