Story
Pending adoption Meet Niko! He is a purebred yorkie. He is 4 years of age. He weighs right around the 7 lb mark, and yes he is fully grown and at a very healthy weight. He is neutered, micorchipped, current on all vaccines, and has been cleared by our vet to find a home all his own. He is house trained, and has been introduced to pads if needed in his next home. He will go outside to use the restroom about 3 times a day. He is crate trained, and has no issue going into a crate if his new adopting family wishes to have him sleep there. He however, LOVES being in bed with his humans, so if you are looking for a snuggle buddy at bedtime, he will happily oblige. He is your true definition of a lap dog, and loves to be near his human as often as he can. We would love to find him a home where his new humans are either retired, or work from home, so that he can remain his happiest little self every day moving forward as he is HAPPIEST when they are around. He is a great traveling partner, so if you take any type of road trips, long or short, he sits in his booster seat and is always ready for wherever the road takes him even if just to run errands around town. He is good with all the dogs we have here, big or small; but doesn't need to have dog friends in his new home as long as he has his person. He is also very good with cats, so that won't be an issue if you have any cat friends at home. He is a very sweet, loving, beautiful little boy patiently waiting for a family to call his own again so if that's you reach out to us and tell us all about yourself, the home you would be providing, and your breed experience andd from there we will be in contact! Adoption fee Along with its breakdown is on our website at breadoflifek9refuge.org under his listing.

Story
We have a transport trip to NorCal and OR on 4/27/24 and would love to add this beautiful girl to our trip for the right family ❤️ travel costs will be divided between all adopting families in route.) Meet Mitzi. She is a purebred yorkie. She turned two on February 14th 2024. She weighed 7.4 lbs at time of her spay on 1/24/24 and yes, she is at a healthy weight. She is now healed from her spay, is current on vaccines, microchipped, had a dental cleaning done, and has been treated for a double eye and nose infection. Upon coming to us she wouldn't open one of her eyes as it was very crusty, and extremely irritated. Her other eye was open but you could tell it was also hurting her to some extent. Upon examination at our vet it was discovered she had two scratched corneas that the prior owner didn't treat or make us aware of, as they told us she had been examined and was diagnosed with dry eye and after attempting to contact them after our vets findings they decided to no longer respond to us. We don't have any answers as to how it happened, but our vet stepped in and treated both eyes and said she would make a full recovery ❤️‍🩹 She indeed is a superstar, and has healed beautifully! She is still on eye ointment, and our vet wants her back for a recheck on/by February 21st but said that recheck could be done by another vet as he is comfortable releasing care at this point if the new adopting family is as well 💝 She is pad trained, and has no issue using them if desired but she also loves to go outside as long as she is accompanied by someone as we have a lot of wildlife here and keeping her safe is top priority. She is great with all dogs, and cats alike. She is VERY sweet with men, women, and children alike. Although we don't know much of her past life, as the little that was given to us was sadly not true, what we do know is that it hasn't stopped her from loving with every single ounce of her heart ❤️ Her owner went into hospice care, and a neighboring family took her in and eventually reached out to us to take her in as they claimed taking her in was only a temporary solution. She is AMAZING on road trips, loves walks around town, and is very good at the groomers once her excitement wears off of being doted on 😁 She will make an exceptional companion to a single person, couple, or a family. She adapts easily, and would be happy to be a part of your world, however that looks ❤️ Her adoption fee is broken down on our website under her listing at https://www.breadoflifek9refuge.org/post/mitzi-1. Her vet costs have exceeded her fee alone adding in her dental, and double eye treatment but helping her heal from the trauma she recieved was most important. Her overall care, time with us, and training are also always considered in an adoption fee, but in her case it's just an added bonus to the love she has recieved since with us here 💓

Story
MEET MOHAWK- Mohawk Has the best personality and has the most Soulful eyes. He’s is a little 12 lb Chorkie. (Chihuahua and Yorkie). Mohawk is almost 2 years old (Vets estimate) he didn’t have the best start in life and was dumped on the side of the highway on a blanket where he stayed until he was rescued. He was really grumpy and growly about being taken from the side of the road where he thought his humans were coming back to get him. He was pretty unsure and untrusting of humans at first as you can imagine. He has really bonded with his foster mom and is now a loving little Velcro dog that LOVES to play fetch with his stuffy and his ball. When he was first given the stuffed puppy in the photo, it sat in his crate untouched and no interest in it for about a week. One day he brought it out and mom threw it for him, he gave a look of such sadness. He didn’t seem to realize it was a game. Feeling bad mom fetched the toy and did it again a few times until Mohawk figured it out. Once he got the hang of it, he doesn’t stop until he tires himself out. lol. He has learned to drop it off the bed and fetch it, then does it again, total self entertaining little guy. He’s ALL Heart and is the most Soulful little fellow I’ve ever seen. You can tell how he’s feeling by his expressions. It’s safe to say We are all in love with Mohawk but he is looking for a forever home with someone or someone’s that will spend time with him and give him his best life. Mohawk is now Neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. If you believe Mohawk is your love match, please email us with a little information about yourselves and how Mohawk would spend his days with you, to gooddogk9rescue@yahoo.com Thank you - Good Dog K9 Rescue Inc.

(((READ ALL INFO BEFORE INQUIRING PLEASE))))) Steps needed to adopt Step 1) complete the application, the link is below https://form.jotform.com/81702264428152 Step 2) Thoroughly read any info about the dog. Review the rescues adoption procedures and process. Thoroughly research the breed. Please do not submit multiple emails or applications. We will contact you if we feel your home is a good fit. ALL dogs and cats in the rescue must be spayed/neutered in the rescue. Because puppies may be to young to undergo surgery, they are placed on our spay and neuter schedule. If they are adopted prior to their surgery date, the adopter must agree to either bring the dog back for their spay/neuter, or complete the alter at their own vet with a special contract in place and proof of the alter within a timeframe. If submitting an application for a puppy under 4 months, they might not yet be altered and are on the schedule. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- >>>>>>About the Dog

Story
Meet the pretty little Gracie! She is a 1 ½ -year-old, 12 pound, Brussels Griffon / Yorkie mix ?. She has a golden colored, easy care, scruffy, coat with hints of brindle and warm brown eyes. Gracie was adopted from AFC with Casper (also available: if you would like a pair) and they were returned due to their adopter’s health problems. She is adorable and will melt your heart with her loving gaze. She is on a little on the shy side and will need a little patience to blossom. Gracie is an absolute LAP DOG! She would love a home that includes her in all their daily activities. She can climb so a properly fenced secure yard is a necessity. She is leash trained. She does well with going outside to potty and she is used to a good routine. Here at the sanctuary, we use the command “go potty” before taking the dogs out to do their business. Gracie is happy to comply and keeps her kennel clean. Gracie would be a great addition to an adult home though she is great with teenagers. She is spayed, microchipped and currently vaccinated. Gracie is waiting to love you! Here is a list of things that should help us answer you in a more timely manner. 1. When you apply please always use the same email address. If we need to look something up later and you used a different email we are often not able to find it. 2. Adopt a Pet and Petfinders ask you to send us an enquiry. This always delays our response. (Why) a. Our biographies are always very detailed. Therefore sending an enquiry asking us to repeat what it says in the biography causes a lot more work and delays our response. b. We are a small non-profit and do not always have the help to answer as many enquiries as we get. c. Again our Biographies are very detailed and if you just click the link near the bottom of their bio you can fill out an application which we will respond to. 3. For the AFC website (scroll down to the bio at the bottom it says (apply to adopt today- click that link) www.animalfriendsconnect.org 4. For Petfinders ( scroll down to the biography then click the adoption link) http://animalfriendsconnect.org/adoption-application-dogs/ 5. For Adopt a Pet (scroll way down past “Ask about me”) you will see the biography and underneath that will be the adoption questionnaire link.
