Meet Teddy – Your Adorable Little Shadow! Teddy is a charming and lovable 5½-year-old little guy who is sure to steal your heart! Weighing just 16.6 pounds, this adorable Yorkie mix has an irresistible Muppet-like face that will make you smile every time you look at him. When Teddy first arrived, he was so terribly matted that he had to be shaved down, but with regular grooming, his beautiful coat will grow back and he'll be even more handsome. Teddy absolutely loves the staff who care for him. He happily follows them everywhere, wanting to be involved in whatever they're doing. He's a loyal little companion who simply wants to be by your side. This smart boy knows how to sit for a treat—and he's quite the negotiator! If you'd like Teddy to do something, having a treat in hand is definitely the way to his heart. He also loves giving sweet kisses (licks) and enjoys soaking up all the attention he can get. Teddy would thrive as your one-and-only dog or in a home with just one other compatible dog. He is best suited for an adult-only home where he can enjoy a calm, predictable environment. He appears to be potty trained and is doing wonderfully at the shelter. Teddy happily goes outside when you tell him, "Go Potty," making him an easy companion to have around the house. Like most Yorkie mixes, Teddy will need regular professional grooming along with routine brushing at home to keep his coat healthy, comfortable, and looking its best. Teddy is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on his vaccinations. Now all he needs is a loving family to call his own. If you're looking for a faithful little companion who will happily follow you through life, shower you with kisses, and fill your days with love and laughter, Teddy is waiting to meet you. Marley’s story breaks our hearts, but his future is looking so much brighter! This sweet little boy was abandoned in a plastic crate in front of a PetSmart in Stockton, CA, matted so badly that his fur was down to his skin and severely underweight. Thankfully, the store groomer kindly gave him a much-needed grooming, and after a veterinary check, AFC was asked to take him in—and of course, we said YES! Marley weighed only 5 pounds when he came in. He is approximately 5 years old and weighs 6.85 pounds now though we expect him to weigh a couple more pounds. We believe he is a Yorkshire Terrier/Maltese mix, and he is as sweet and loving as they come. He is, getting healthier, and discovering what it feels like to be safe and loved. Marley plays with other dogs and especially loves his human company. He is very loving. Marley is scheduled to be neutered, but we are already looking for his forever home. He may need some additional leash and house training, so his new family should be patient as he learns. He uses the doggie door at the sanctuary to go outside to potty but may need reinforcement. Because Marley’s coat requires ongoing care, his adopter must be prepared for regular professional grooming. Due to his tiny size, we are looking for an adult-only home or a home with calm, respectful teenagers who will handle this little guy gently. After everything Marley has been through, he deserves nothing less than a loving family who will cherish him for the rest of his life. Please follow AFC on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61582104536779 to learn more about our organization. #Adoptingsaveslives! Puppy is a senior Yorkie who belonged to our late mom. He has been very loved and cared for, but unfortunately no one in our family is able to keep him long-term. He is used to having access to a yard rather than going on regular walks, so he may need time to adjust to leash walking and a new routine. He is not house-trained. He also has some ongoing medical needs, including chronic dry eye, dental disease, and a partial cruciate ligament tear, so he will need continued veterinary care. We’re hoping to find him a calm, loving home where he can be comfortable and well cared for.
