Dottie (Dorothy) is a very timid gal who is going to need a very patient adoptive family. She is with a foster now, who has been able to get her to take treats out of her hand and has a good appetite. She is quiet and likes to follow you around the house. But she won't let you pet her, but with time she should warm up to the right person. We are continuing to work with her on socialization. He does not chase the cats at the house but he does bark at dogs, cats and people while he’s on a walk. He is getting better at not barking while on walks as long as you can distract him and keep on walking. Louie has trust issues, anxiety and needs to be socialized. Louie needs someone with patience experience and willing to work with him daily. He does come to you once he gets to know you He does know how to sit and use the doggie door to go outside and potty. Story
Meet Leila: Your New Little Love Bug! Pretty Leila is the sweetest 2.5-year-old, 6-pound golden brown Yorkie mix who is ready to steal your heart! This adorable girl is a bundle of love, packed into a tiny package that’s perfect for snuggling, exploring, and being your constant companion. Leila’s family had to make the tough decision to part ways because they had two little ones in quick succession, and Leila longed for more attention and love. Now, she’s looking for her forever family who will cherish her as much as she will cherish them. A true love bug — she craves cuddles and companionship 24/7. Tiny enough to go everywhere you go — perfect for adventures or cozy nights at home. Housebroken and knows when it’s time to go outside — she’ll even scratch at the door! Smart and eager to learn — she already knows sit, down, and come! Active and playful — she loves playing catch and walks beautifully on a leash. She is a travel enthusiast — she enjoys car rides and would be happy to accompany you anywhere. Social butterfly — she’s been around other dogs and cats and gets along well. She is a good sleeper and would love to snooze in your bed! Leila is scheduled to be spayed, she is vaccinated, and microchipped, and she’s just waiting for the perfect family to come along. She’s a vocal girl, so a home without shared walls might be best, but her heart is full of love and ready to give it. She will need grooming every 4-6 weeks. If you’re looking for a soul dog who will fill your life with joy, Leila is your girl. Come meet her and prepare to fall in love! Adopt Leila — your new best friend is waiting! Here is a list of things that should help us answer you in a more timely manner. 1. When you apply please always use the same email address. If we need to look something up later and you used a different email we are often not able to find it. 2. Adopt a Pet and Petfinders ask you to send us an enquiry. This always delays our response. (Why) a. Our biographies are always very detailed. Therefore sending an enquiry asking us to repeat what it says in the biography causes a lot more work and delays our response. b. We are a small non-profit and do not always have the help to answer as many enquiries as we get. c. Again our Biographies are very detailed and if you just click the link near the bottom of their bio you can fill out an application which we will respond to. 3. For the AFC website (scroll down to the bio at the bottom it says (apply to adopt today- click that link) www.animalfriendsconnect.org 4. For Petfinders ( scroll down to the biography then click the adoption link) http://animalfriendsconnect.org/adoption-application-dogs/ 5. For Adopt a Pet (scroll way down past “Ask about me”) you will see the biography and underneath that will be the adoption questionnaire link.
