Story
Dottie (Dorothy) is a very timid gal who is going to need a very patient adoptive family. She is with a foster now, who has been able to get her to take treats out of her hand and has a good appetite. She is quiet and likes to follow you around the house. But she won't let you pet her, but with time she should warm up to the right person. We are continuing to work with her on socialization. If you are interested please submit an adoption application! ##1341435##

Story
Meet Rocky, a lively boy who is looking for his forever home. He enjoys exploring new places, sniffing out hidden treasures, and spending time with his favorite people. Despite his energetic nature, Rocky also has a shy side. He tends to be a bit reserved at first, but once he gets to know you, he becomes your loyal and loving friend. Rocky`s curiosity is one of his most charming traits. He loves learning new tricks and solving puzzles. His intelligence and eagerness to please make him a joy to train. Rocky`s friendly nature and zest for life will bring joy and laughter into your home. He is loyal and loving, and would be happy to offer you his comfort and companionship. Adopt Rocky and let his infectious energy and undying loyalty fill your life with happiness. Due to his shy nature, we are requiring that any children in his new home are age 10 or older so they can understand his needs. Rocky prefers to be the only dog, so we are requiring that there are no other dogs in his new home. A consult with our Behavior team will be provided to discuss his individual needs.Adoption Price: $200

Story
Meet Maya Blue!   This 5 lb, 8-year-old Yorkie mix is a sassy little soul who came to us from Contra Costa Animal Services. We can’t wait to share her journey with you!   &#226&#156&#168 It’s Maya’s world and we live in it   Maya loves to explore (sometimes in circles), nap, and enjoy her meals. She’ll give you those sweet, brief kisses and the occasional ear rub.   She’s not a fan of crates and prefers her own cozy enclosed space at night. While she uses potty pads when needed, she’s still learning her potty training, especially outside her comfort zone.   She has figured out that being held, pet and cuddled aren't bad. They actually feel pretty good! She will nap curled up on, or next to us, for hours every day. She knows that pets don't hurt, and she really enjoys them, sometimes. She still likes to take things at her pace, and she lets you know when she doesn't want your touch.    Maya is a slow eater with her kibble, and a bit messy. We've tried wet food, and it's too much for her to master. She sleeps well in her enclosed area at night. She might wake in the night, but will settle herself down after a few minutes. She does not like being crated. Maya is not potty trained, but has a fairly reliable schedule, and will potty outside if you put her out.   When we hold her, she will nuzzle up against you and lay her head on your chest. This is what makes fostering so rewarding! Taking a dog with no trust and them learning to cuddle with you. She would not be a good fit for someone with small children.   Stay tuned for updates as Maya Blue gets closer to finding her forever home. She may be a little spicy, but she’s got a heart of gold just waiting to shine!   #AdoptMayaBlue#YorkieMix#RescueDog#ComingSoon#SpicyButSweet We are on all social media at @umbrellaofhope and we invite you to follow us and share which helps more people see and adopt our pets.  To help our ALL VOLUNTEER team rescue more senior, special needs, medically needy and hospice animals (and a few 'typical' ones along the way, please consider making a tax-deductible (TAX ID 45-4103375) donation online at www.paypal.me/UOH or Venmo @umbrellaof-hoperescue or Zelle beourpet@gmail.com.   You can also buy tees, tanks. sweatshirts, hats and bandannas where all proceeds benefit our animals https://ruff-life-rescue-wear.myshopify.com/collections/umbrella-of-hope We also have an Etsy store where the merchandise is made by volunteers and supporters, changes regularly and 100% of the proceeds benefit our medical fund https://www.etsy.com/shop/Umbrellaofhope Amazon Wish List tinyurl.com/pineapplewish  June 7, 2025, 6:31 pm

Story
Meet Chewbacca (Chewy): A Loyal, Energetic Companion Looking for a Fresh Start Chewbacca, lovingly known as Chewy, is a spunky and playful 6-year-old pup who needs a new forever home. Chewy has been a part of my life since September 2018, and while he’s brought so much love and joy to our family, we’re in a position where we can no longer provide the care and structure he needs. Chewy has been living with my grandmother due to our housing restrictions. While she has done her best to care for him, her health has begun to decline, and we believe she may be experiencing dementia or Alzheimer’s. This has impacted Chewy’s behavior and training, as he hasn’t had the consistency he needs to thrive. Unfortunately, he’s developed some behavioral issues, such as barking at and approaching other dogs and children in an overly excited or sometimes aggressive manner. Chewy needs a home where he can be the only pet and receive dedicated attention and training.
