Story
Brooklyn & Jack are bonded and must be adopted together. Meet Brooklyn & Jack!  Our names are Brooklyn and Jack. We’ve been together for a very long time, are bonded and come as a perfect package.  We are both affectionate, communicative and confident.  We also have some of our own individual traits, but we always like to be together. Brooklyn – I’m a 10-lb. tan and white Yorkie/Maltese girl with 13 years of life experience.  I’m a self-proclaimed “couch potato” who is also gentle, patient, quiet and independent. And, I've got great ears! I’m slower in movement, unless I’m heading to my food bowl.  Give me a soft chair/couch and I am good to go! Jack -  I’m an 8-lb. white Maltese boy and I’m 12 years old. I’m laid back, snuggly, adventurous, and an enthusiastic “wiggle-butt”.  While we both get a little anxious at times, I get more anxious when my sister is not around and will tell everyone about it. I like to be near her all of the time and, fortunately, she doesn’t seem to mind one bit. Thunderstorms and being left alone also are scary, so I sometimes take medication to help me feel calmer during these times.  Their Favorite Things : These sidekicks enjoy daily walks and getting out and about.  Brooklyn does tire faster than Jack but will gladly take her spot in a stroller so the walk can continue. Toys?  Neither really care much about them. Brooklyn loves lounging on a couch.  Jack is a fan of peanut butter and will gladly lick it from a spoon.  But above all . . . Jack’s favorite thing is Brooklyn and Brooklyn’s favorite thing is Jack. Training & Manners: They both are happy to report they have good basic manners, walk well on a leash, and love car rides. Health & Care: Both are doing great in their senior years. Brooklyn does require a special gastrointestinal/low fat canned food.  Jack is a toothless wonder with his tongue out, and he requires canned food as well. He also takes medication for those scary times, but it is very inexpensive. Both require ongoing heart medication, which averages about $60.00 a month each.  Here’s the cool thing . . . PPR has agreed to cover their heart medication AND Brooklyn’s food for 6 months to their adopter . . . How “PAW”some is that??  They are low maintenance and should only need occasional grooming, baths (which they LOVE) and nail trims. Other Animals: They have experience with and love dogs of all sizes.  They haven’t been exposed to cats yet, but we think they would be fine with a feline friend. Children:  They don’t currently live with kids but older kids (8+) would be just fine.  They just have to be respectful of their small size and age. Ideal Home:  Because Jack can be a bit vocal when his people leave, a single-family home would be needed.  Jack can be a bit of a stinker, and he thinks he is an escape artist at times.  Therefore, they should never be outside of the house unless they are leashed.  Of course, a securely fenced yard would be nice too, but not a requirement.   They would also love it if their people were home more often than not.  They stay in a secure area in their foster home and sleep in the “people bed” at night.   They both do great with house training and will let you know when they need to go outside. Overall: If you are looking for two amazing senior dogs who are sure to entertain you, we might be the perfect duo for you.  Do you think this team could be the ones for you?  If so, visit www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org to fill out an adoption application. If it seems like it could be a good match, their foster family will reach out with more information. Their adoption donation is $300 for the PAIR! ##2400154##

Story
Hi, Im MATTIE and Im a neutered male Lhasa Apso/Poodle mix. Im very handsome, if I do say so myself. My good friends at Coastal Poodle Rescue are going to help me find a wonderful home since my Mommy had to go into an assisted living facility and I couldnt go with her. Im up to date with all my vaccines and tests, I had a dental and I`m on monthly heartworm and flea/tick prevention. I do need eye drops for dry eye but I dont make a fuss. My foster Mom says that Im an absolute joy. Guess that means that Im a good boy! Im friendly, happy and energetic. She does say that I need an experienced, patient dog owner who will understand me and give me time to adjust to a new home. I wont eat dry food but really love Fresh Pet for small dogs or Tender Chicken recipe. You know what I really LOVE!!! My morning and evening walks; Im perfect on a leash as long as I walk on your right side and all the neighbors think Im a very handsome boy. I check all the mailboxes in the neighborhood in case another dog left a message for me. If I meet another dog on my walks, I get so excited and want to play. I love to ride in the car and maybe go to Home Depot or Dairy Queen. Im very well behaved in public. I am so good when Im bathed and I dont mind being brushed. I never jump up on the furniture unless Im invited. Im not real crazy about sitting on your lap but I will sit close. I havent had one accident since coming into foster care. I will bark when I want to go outside. In fact, Ill bark at just about anything I want so my foster mom says I shouldnt be in a condo or apartment. You know what would be really nice? Another doggie friend to play with. I can play by myself with my toys and throw them around, and I throw my chew stick or Milkbone around the house all day! Id really like a fenced backyard and very patient adults who will give me time to adjust to my new surroundings. Could that be you? If you wish to be considered for MATTIE or any of our dogs, you are welcome to start the process by filling out an Adoption Application which can be found on our website at www.coastalpoodlerescue.org .
